Newest version. Fairly easy to use. Connect to effects/pedals and you're ready to go.

Sound Quality : 7
Have used the product (together with the Bigfoot) with a two-amp setup. Marshall Superlead and Fender Blackface. It seems to me it "colours" your sound a little and if you use the built-in "buffer" it makes your sound sharp and thin. Simply not good enough. I have recently heard that they(T-rex) will correct this, but you will have to check this yourself. Also a problem that the two "stereo" loops isn't really stereo! I can't get into the technics spefs but it doesn't seem that enough time on the drawing-board was spent. On the positive side! It's a great idea to make a loop-system. The other ones on the market is relatively expensive and the Mac1 therefor stands apart. However I don't find the quality to be good and "neutral" enough.

One loose jack output when I recieved it. Fixed it - tested the machine and sold it.

Too busy company.

Good for keeping all your pedals/effects in a rack.

This thing is really easy to use! power it up - hit the edit button, select the loops, switches and Effects levels you need and hit the edit button again - and you have just saved your first patch! The manual will guideline you through the most common setups - any further questions, visit the homepage and ask - they will answer within 48 hours!

I use an Old Fender Bassman Combo plus an old Vox AC30 both hooked up to the MAC1. In the loops (serial) section I have the following pedals:
- T-Rex Compnova
- Maxon OD808
- Ibanez TS9-DX
- Toadworks Death Rattle
- Tech21 Double Drive
- Boss TR-2 Tremolo
- MXR Micro Amp

I also use a line6 delay modeller to get delay sounds in the MAC1 FX Sections. I will exchange this for a TC G-Major Rack Unit.

I control the whole setup with a T-Rex Bigfoot Midi Controller Pedal. It's really a fantastic pedal which allows you to interact with the MAC1 directly.

I mainly use Fender Guitars (Strats and Teles) occasionaly have Gibsons on stage (SG, ES335) and just ordered a roxie GMP Guitar.

Eagle-Eye Cherry's guitarist uses this setup aswell - and is very happy with it!

What I really like about the unit is the switching speed which is really fast and it doesn't colour your sound at all!

I personally am missing one feature which is to pan from one to the other amp - so i'm giving it a 9! But t-rex offered to build a special box to hook up to the mac1 for this purpose! Now thats what i call customer support!!!

Reliability : 10
Havn't had any problems - and yes I'm touring without a backup!

I play all differnt kinds of styles but mostly rock with some pop influences. I have been playing for 14 years and this is my first rack switching systems. If it were stolen or lost I get ir replaced for shure - hey it's insured, so i don't really care about that!

I relly love the ease of use and ability to finally get my sound together with pedals...

Compared it to voodolab gcx switching system (not enough features) and cae systems (way to expensive)

I wish it had the ability to pan the two main outs... via midi expression pedal!
