Ease of Use : 7
needed the manual to figure out what broan and sub division were

sub division take a bit of trial and error

very musical sounding pedal spent more time playing with it on feeling fine than searching out awesome sounds,

manual is nice and brief

Sound Quality : 8
Precision bass direct in

could not tell if it was noisy, tried it in the guitar store
the effects sound very goos and rich and un boss like. The delay pedal is dope, but pricey, sounds good true bypass, nice boost good sound like the brown switch, sound warm to my ears BUT!!!

the god damn tempo dial does not allow you to slow down the repeats

this has got to be the biggest mistake on this pedal everything else is cool, but when I go to slow down my repeats like I did years a ago with that nice old boss analog delay the red one - it f'in cuts out the repeats all together I had to try a second one to check it wasnt broken, most people like to mess with delays in this way so I canot understand the lack of this feature

otherwise I would have bought it##

it looks dope, sounds dope but is missing that vital experimental factor

Reliability : No Opinion
looked really well built and I liked the colour

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
what a shame, I would have had it for sure but the way the repeats cut out on changing the tempo slider sucks

they also with the tap switch its a sudden cut, they should trail off or at least be adjustable, this way it switches#

sadly have to look further afield mind you the sib stuff looks dope

REPLICA has top sound top looks top build qualityNORDIC NICE) good conectivity and not the overload of features the LINE 6 has

but why cant I mess around with the tempo dial and get freaky with it????

a classy delay for those that like to keep it constant

if I were rich I would have it - in addition to something more freaky

but I only got enough for one

Four knobs that do exactly as they say . It's nice to have the extra boost aswell. Tap tempo very welcome and only requires clicking twice.

Sound Quality : 9
Sound quality is fantastic. I don't feel it colours the sound much at all. In fact I think it may have been the earlier comment that has made me think it might. Either way it's negligible.

It really is a faultless product. And so it should be for the cost.

Have to ask why delays often have an infinite delay on them? It gets messy. Anybody know of any uses for that length of repeat?

The extra boost is nice and I'm sure once I get a decent valve amp I really notice the benefit of it.

Reliability : 9
I'm hoping it's reliable. Build quality seems very good compared to other products (both musical and otherwise). Not being a gigging musician I can't comment whether I would take it out and about or not. I can't see any problems with it taking a few knocks though.

Customer Support : 10
Contacted TRex by email and had a reply within 24 hours. They sent me a power supply from Europe to the UK free of charge. Now that's service!

Overall Rating : 9
Only been playing again for the last year after a break of over ten. Styles of music therefore are varied. In fact I'm pleased when I play something that sounds like a style!

I play a US strat with Shed pickups (custom made in the UK). My amp is basic and too loud for home use (it's a 30W Fender Champ thingy). I will no doubt get something like a Cornford of Koche(?) in the future but it will have to wait. To sweeten the dull amp sound I use a Tech21 Double Drive and to play with an MXR Phase90 and Dunlop Wah (really need something better, maybe custom job).

If it were lost or stolen I would claim on my contents insurance. Like I would for anything expensive.

I love the look and feel of the pedal but the sound is what matters. And it's good :)

I chose this pedal as it received better reviews than all the others, looked the part and was expensive. I'm a sucker for spending money.

I wouldn't mind trying out a reverse delay. This pedal doesn't have that feature.

If you could afford it I'm sure you'd buy it. We all make compromises on what we purchase. Only the very wealthy can consider the whole market.

NB: It's worth shopping around as I saved #40 on this. I even saw one sell on eBay for #40 more than the RRP!

the customer support is verry good! When i was looking for the perfect delay pedal i mailed T-rex for some details of the replica. And the same day they replied. And they also asked my adress so they send me a free t-rex t-shirt! i love it

Overall Rating : 10
this pedal is almost always on! i had a boss dd-5 it was good. But with the replica you get a more 'profesional' sound. Its a A-class pedal!

The four knobs make this a chinch for use on-the-fly. Tap tempo switch is superb. You can change the delay time without having the delay effect on.

Sound Quality : 9
It sounds like a very warm delay, colors the sound slighly, but its warm buttery sound that I like. Dead quiet in operation, no hiss, hum or switch noise.

Reliability : 10
For a complex pedal, its built very well. I have gigged w/ it on several occasions with zero problems.

Customer Support : 10
Excellent customer support - Get this....I fried the power supply (My fault) and had a gig coming up in less than a week. I telephoned the company in Denmark. The guy air-mailed me a replacement to the U.S. for free. Thats what I call customer support

Overall Rating : 9
I don't think that any delay deserves a "10" unless it will make my playing sound like The Edge of U2. This one is the closest I've found yet, so I give her a 9.

I have tried EVERY SINGLE DELAY on the market, including rack units. This one is the most versitile, easy to use, and best sounding pedal of them all. If I had to pick two pedals off my pedal board to take to a desert island this one would be my first pick, the other my KLON. It is not cheap. However, this company does not make cheap products. If you want cheap, buy a Digitech.

So easy to use and better yet...So easy to get a usable, musical sounding delay. Not sterile at all. Sold a DLS Echotap to get this and never looked back.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a Tom Anderson through a high quality effects board through a Divided by 13 amp. This is a (the)top of the line delay. Come on..."Line 6 delay is better" Get out of town. This thing eats anything from Line 6 for lunch. Dead quiet and killer tone.

Reliability : 10
NO problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never any interaction

Overall Rating : 9
This is the best delay pedal I've ever heard. Came from using a Mesa triaxis system with eventide eclipse. (Great delays from eventide!) This thing comes darn close in quality of sound. Hard to believe it's from a pedal! 9 because of price...

Use a Gibson SG, Fender Jaguar, Ric 330, with a Carr Rambler, a Blackstone Overdrive, MoogerFooger Ring Modulator, Budda Phatman, H&K Replex, Gibson Echoplex.

This pedal is studio quality. Best I have seen in a pedal. Sounds incredible.

Reliability : 9
Seems substantial.

Never needed it

Overall Rating : 10
Playing a loonng time. Since I was a little kid. Play Surf music, Jazz, Ambient. I would hate to replace it at this price, but it is half the price of a Fuller Tape Echo. I like the reverb on the Carr, but I wanted to be able to stretch it out a little beyond its envelope. I had a Replex, and used it for this purpose, but find I prefer the Replica.

Very easy to use.

This is an okay delay pedal. Nice sound - but I don?t like that what you get out of it is a little bit compressed. The brown mode doesn?t sound like a tape echo at all!!
I like the tap function.
The line 6 DLF sounds way better in its tape echo mode!!
I own way huge?s octa puss and an old Ibanez AD-80 and this the T-rex doesn?t even come close!!

Reliability : 4
This has an internal power supply. But this unit has failed on me on several gigs and I really dont feel I can rely on it live

4 chickenhead knobs give an intuitive feel for all the options. Manual is a single sheet of paper. It was designed to be played with. Still investigating the midi interface.

Sound Quality : 10
It's been a while since I reviewed a piece of gear. I am using this pedal with a Carr Rambler amp, also a Budda phatman, a ring modulator, and a Blackstone Appliance overdrive. It is hard to believe this is a digital pedal. It breathes. Very musical. On a whole other level of verisimilitude. I also have a Hughes and Kettner Replex, which I have used for years--always been happy with it. I though maybe I would sell the Replex if the Replica passed muster -- but they sound so great together that its like I have 3 recording heads to play with now. I wish I knew how to describe how good this pedal sounds.

I wanted to get a TC Electronic D Two, but the Carr has no effects loop, and I've heard that the D Two sounds crappy in a pedal chain. So I decided to check out the Replica. It is like a studio quality rack mount delay in a small form factor pedal. Astonishing. I use it for ambient, surf, sphaghetti western type instrumental music and it is perfect, I mean, perfect for what I do. I have never been so excited about a pedal. It isn't noisy, and I cannot see how it colors my sound as much as some of my other pedals

Reliability : 9
It looks well made, but I would treat it with care. It's too spendy to have a backup, but I see it as an integral link in my sound, now.

Overall Rating : 10
I hate to admit it, but I have been playing for 41 years. I ought to be a better player, right? Oh well, this is pretty much one of my dream pedals. (My other would be a Lexicom PCM 91 in a pedal). M music is a sort of post-modern fusion of gypsy-jazz, country, and surf. This pedal fits the bill perfectly. I have tried alot of rack mount fx but have gotten a lot more satisfaction from a pedal chain. It is a lot of money for a pedal, but that is the wrong way to think about it. It would be a good bargain if it was a rack piece, and that's what it is, only, stuffed into a pedal box.

Plug it in and fool with it...not too difficult

Sound Quality : 9
This is a very smooth and 'musical' delay pedal. I don't really use the 'brown' function for two reasons: I already have a Maxon AD900 analog delay before this delay in my chain and the brown function sounds like a muddy lo-fi delay instaed of a good analog unit. The regular digital delay is nice and round, warm and smooth, much better sounding than your typical Boss unit. I especially like the 'boost' you get when the pedal is kicked in...very 3-dimensional!. I use this pedal as a spacey over-the-top addition to my Maxon delay (which is on almost all the time) the T-Rex Replica lifts solos up in the air and adds 'girth' and a very nice boost to the signal! I use a Fender custom shop strat with a humbucker in the bridge position going through a Budda wah--Fulltone OCD--Budda Zenman--Foxrox TZF--Maxon AD900--T-Rex Replica--Bad Cat Black Cat 30R. Been playin' a long time and this is the best rig I've owned.

Nice pedal, best most musical DIGITAL delay I've used. I was fortunate to get it cheap from ebay...paying 5-600 bucks for it is a bit much though...

Relatively easy and straight forward. The manual is one page. I had a difficult time finding a setting on the Level control that was perfectly balanced with the bypassed sound. At 12:00 it sounded fine with my clean tone, but required a boost when I engaged my overdrive pedal, and a slight reduction when I switched to the fuzz, whereas with the Replica disengaged. The AC wal-wart power supply plugs into the courtesy outlet on my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2, but it sure would have been nice if I could have used one of the regular DC connections. Also, the tap tempo switch is a great feature, but a momentary type switch would have ben better and easier to manipulate than the standard "clicker" type.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm using a Fender '60 Reissue Strat, Gibson '58 Reissue Les Paul, and an '89 PRS Custom. Amps are an Allen Sweet Spot (Princeton Reverb clone) and a Clark Beaufort (Tweed Deluxe clone). Effect chain is guitar -> Fulltone Clyde Wah -> Fulltone Mini-Deja-Vibe -> Fulltone Fulldrive 2 -> Fulltone Soul-Bender fuzz (I like the Fulltone stuff if you didn't notice!) -> Replica -> amp. I use the Pedal Power 2 to keep all of this stuff running without batteries. The pedal sounded its best with a clean guitar signal. While the effect is true bypass (a MUST HAVE feature, in my opinion) there was noticeable tonal coloration when the effect was engaged. It tended to compress the sound, which was especially noticeable when used in conjunction with my overdrive pedal, causing the tone to sound muddy and flat. One reason I bought this pedal was for the "Brown" function, which is advertised as simulating the sound of 60's and 70's era tape and analog delays. Well, certainly sounds nothing like a tape delay, and in my opinion falls well short of simulating an analog delay sound. The Line 6 DL-4 does a much more convincing analog delay sound than the Brown feature on this pedal. With the Brown button engaged, I also found that the volume of my delay repeats was substantially reduced, forcing me to turn up the Echo knob in order to hear the repeats clearly. After a lot of fiddling, I ended up prefering the straight digital sound over the Brown sound. For a digital delay, it's actually very pleasing. The dual Burr Brown 24 bit chips (like those used in the DACs of high end CD players) sound smooth and not harsh or "sterile."

These are built in Denmark and have a two year warranty. Don't know if you'd have to ship it all the way across the pond if it breaks, or if there is a U.S. service center.

Overall Rating : 7
A nice delay pedal, but for me the negatives outweighed the positives. On the plus side it has a pleasing delay sound with a very useable range (up to 1.5 seconds). The tap tempo feature is useful, and it's true bypass so you can still hear the dynamics in your pick attack when not using the effect. On the negative side, I didn't care for the tonal coloration I heard when the effect was engaged. I found it difficult to keep a consistent volume level when using it with overdrive and fuzz effects. Contrary to popular claims, the Brown feature sounds nothing like analog or tape delay. The wal-wart adaptor adds clutter to your pedal board. For US$400 I was expecting much more than what I got. I sent it back for a refund. Previous delays I have owned include Yamaha and Roland rackmount digital models, Boss DM-2, Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, and the Line 6 DL-4. The DL-4 isn't bad, and has a very realistic analog delay simulation, but it takes up a lot of room and for me had too many features to be practical. I think I will try the new Maxon AD999 next. It is a true analog delay with up to 900ms of delay time, true bypass, and it runs off of regular 9V DC current, which means it is Pedal Power friendly. Other pedals I've considered or looked into include the SIB Echodrive (still a possibility if the Maxon doesn't work out) and the Boss DD-20 Giga Delay (probably sounds great, but does not have true bypass, which I am a fanatic about).
