If you cant plug this in and get a delay you like then dont use any delay pedal.
It really is the easiest and best deley there is.

I believe this is the best delay on the market.
After about 5 minutes of tinkering I had a lovely delay sound on my solo channel.......If only everything was this easy.
I play Death Metal and play loud and it done everything it says on the tin.
Wonderful........................

2 rehearsals in and still fine.
It is the best delay money can buy.

I play in a signed Death Metal band and before I bought this i used a GSP1101 with my RMT 100 Randall head and an assortment of Dean guitars.
I only used a few patches of the GSP1101 and have now replaced it with the Replica.
Worth every penny, no more rack just easy to use pedal board.
Tried loads of delays and this was the one for me.
If you want a delay and can afford it BUY ONE!!!!!!

I use the replica with my pedalboard rig. I use a 20 space rack (mainly eventide/lexicon gear)with modded bogner uberschall for my higain stuff. And a 67 super reverb for my cleans/mild rock tones. I have 200-300 pedals...so maikng my board is VERY hard to do. i use usa G&l guitars..and a 79 les paul artist. i have had just about all the delays you can think of DMM, Dm2, ad80, dd2,3,5,6...ibanez ad9,de7, rockman echo...none of them are close to the replica..honestly its arguably in the class of the 3,000 lexicon or eventide delays. just without all the parameters..it sounds like a GREAT tape echo...or a super clean digital...with the touch of a button...

Fairly easy to use, except that i don't like the level control. When i need to boost my signal i'll use a boost pedal. The subdivision isn't very useful for me, you need to play with a metronome to make it work. This is a digital pedal, changing the tempo switches off the delay for about 1 second???? very annoying.

This pedal doesn't sound bad but 400 euros is really crazy money for what you get. I don't understand the hype. I very much prefer my boss space echo for vintage style echos or even a dan echo. I sold it after 2months of use and i don't regret it.
Please don't follow the hype, spend your money on more useful stuff.

Very straight forward. Make sure you use the given power supply, and I think the rest is straight forward.
The subdivision function does work (a little cumbersome however), if you don't understand the manual go check out proguitarshop.com's review they show you how.

I really do believe this is the best digital delay out there. It sounds fantastic.
Playing it through various Fenders (all-tube) and it is a delightful effect.
It has the clarity and noiseless response of digital, but somehow retains that analog warmth.

This is essentially why I am writing the review. I do not usually do this.
I bought the product 2nd hand. After some traveling the pedal developed a high frequency noise that occured on every repeat, which made it unusable.
I phoned all the dealers in the USA, and no one would help as I needed to go through the retail store (but, I bought it 2nd hand!)
I emailed TRex, they responded IMMEDIATELY. I sent them the pedal, and they fixed it FREE OF CHARGE.
Extremely friendly, helpful and professional.
I have had problems with other manufacturers, and this kind of support is incredible.
I will continue using their products, and when I look for new pedals their range is the first I will be checking out.
Phenomenal.

Here's the deal, this guy is digital and it sounds digital even in the brown sound mode. I really wanted to like this pedal but I'm old school tube amps, noisey single coils, and analog delays. I kept hearing digital artifacts slightly in certain rythmic patterns and it just felt too thin. People say this is too dark? Man I think it is too thin and digitized. I have a Mooger 104z that I absolutely love and a Keeley AD9 and Maxon AD999 which are really cool as well, the Replica just didn't cut it for me, I AB'd it against my friends Diamond Memory Lane and this was no contest, just like the Moog, the Replica fails in the lush category, it ain't very lush. Matter of fact it wasn't all that much better than his DD20, though it was more transparent. It's a nice pedal if your a digital guy, but I guess I'm not one. For my ears, the Moog and Diamond are hands down the best, but I haven't tried the Retro Sonic yet, but will likely pick one up!!
I hate to give it a low rating because everyone has different tastes. I was unimpressed, probably because of the high expectations from the press.

I think the Replica is a fine pedal for digital guys, but likely overpriced in the ever changing and developing digital market. It is quiet but not absent of digital artifacts. It in no way sounds analog, there's simply no mojo to it - and I know Mojo Vibe - great pedal!! Just a fair warning to analog delay guitarist - please search elsewhere!! I returned mine after a week of really really wanting to like this because of all the press. I will likely pick up a Retro Sonic for my smaller board, Tim makes great pedals. Plus analog not only sounds better to me, it retains its value much better than the latest digital fad. Check out Ebay these days, I saw a couple Replicas go for around $250-275. This isn't very good resale value for a boutique pedal with such accolades
If the Replica was $200 I would consider it a good buy. But like all digital stomp boxes, they tend to depreciate as their technology become outdated - take the DL4 for example, I unloaded this one too after years of use and frustration. $400 for this pedal is overpriced given the recent competition in the digital realm such as Eventide and TC Nova If you really want one, they will be out there for $200-250 on Ebay soon. I think the Replica will be falling in price or fading away into DL4 land.

OK, I'm Bobby and I admit when I'm wrong, and I'm wrong. It works, but the explanation of how it works could probably be better.
Here goes: 90 bpm, subdivision off. Tap tempo and you get a repeat every beat. Subdivision on, tap the same tempo and you get more than a repeat every beat. I didn't quite get triplets, but I got more than one bpm.
Very subtle. You can come close to achieving this with other delays just be setting the tempo faster, but for exact timing (band situation) it's very helpful to know you'll be at the correct timing.
Again, very subtle. You will not hear it without a metronome.
I think the subdivision function could be explained better to prevent some of the confusion out there.

The subdivision is not hard to use. In fact, it's easy to use. You know how to tap a tempo, right? Well all you have to do is press the subdivision button before you tap the tempo. Not after, not at the same time. Before. And you can't use the tempo knob with the subdivision button, only tap tempo. Sounds pretty easy doesn't it? And mine doesn't work!!! I returned it for another unit and the other one didn't work either!! Again, the instructions to follow to get it to work are not hard, yet it still doesn't work. With all the problems people seem to have with the subdivision function, do you think everybody is stupid or do you think that it just doesn't work? So it's easy to use in theory, but yet it doesn't work, too bad I can't give it a zero.

Before you all go thinking I'm a complete dumbass, I sat down with this thing for hours! With a metronome! Even though you shouldn't need a metronome to know that you're not getting triplets when you tap a tempo of 1 - - - 2 - - - 3 - - - 4 and you get 1 - - - 2 - - - 3 - - - 4 in return instead of 1 2 3, 2 2 3, 3 2 3, 4 2 3. Those are triplets are they not? Oh wait, maybe I hit the subdivision button after I tapped the tempo, oh wait, no, I hit the subdivision button first. Or did I hit the subdivision button and then dial in a tempo? No, I tapped in a tempo. I think you get it. I followed the instructions and even tried every other combination of pushing buttons and turning knobs, to no avail. So try your luck if you like, but make sure you can return it in case the subdivisions don't work for you either.

Like other reviewers before me, I too have enjoyed various delay pedals and rack units. I was happy with my DD20... I didnt rate my Korg SDD1000 or whatver it was... but the Replica is by a million miles the best sounding delay unit of any type I have encountered or owned. Including a Roland space echo and a deluxe memory man.
I dont know how it does what it does, but the echo never clashes with the "dry" sound... I've never been able to get close to the spacey echo effect on David Gilmour's Time solo from DSOTM. To me one of THE great solos featuring delay..., I can now... And Mr Gilmour had a Replica on his 2006 tour - see the pics at gilmourish.com.
Nails Andy summers and the Edge if they float your boat... Its a high quality little box and I love it to bits.
Its worth every penny of the asking price.

Well..........YES IT IS!!!!! Its amazing. I'm using a Les Paul Standard into a Mesa Express 5:50 with the Delay in the loop and i can get really strong sustain style delay like Petrucci, Vai, Satch with this pedal and even though i could do it well with the Boss or Digitech, this pedal just sounds so much better. Very easy to use. The taptempo and subdivision buttons make it easy to find the desired tempo of the song. I??m used to program rackeffects but I often prefer the sound of stompboxes, this is no exception. No need to scroll through parameters and menues
just to change the effects level.

Sound quality is superb. I have had lots of delay stompboxes (Line6, Akai, Boss, Digitech) but this one is the best so far. I did listen to the new Mad Professor delay at a guitarshow a few weeks ago. That??s probably in the same league but it doesn??t have taptempo.
I still prefer my Boss DM-2 analog delay for shorter delays but for distorted solos the Replica
is excellent. Digging both the digital delay sound and the brown sound with treble cut from the delayed signal. Did like my DD-20 a lot but I will probably get more play time.
The Replica is a bit pricey but I??m willing to spend a little more to get top class sounds.

easy enuf to use compared to the EP3 echoplex I swapped for it
manual is concise
subdivision is sweet! really makes this pedal stand out from the rest of the crowd
I guess this is the older version- seems like there is at least 1 1/4 maybe 1 1/2 seconds of delay available
tap tempo- so useful - changing delay rate in the middle of a song is a major plus- can't see how I got by without it- so much easier than bending down and twiddling with the knob
not as easy as some effects to use but once you learn the functions it has a natural feel to it- ergonomically intelligent
Sound Quality
:

Love the brown button- successive repeats get darker and darker- alot like my tape delay without the noisy tape hiss
works with my home made wah and Fulltone OCD ( sorry - that is all I use on stage)
use it with a Vox AC15 and a 69 tele thinline
love the dreamy effect when it is dialed with just a hint of the effect in use (less is way more)- the subdivision feature really adds a rich complex backdrop to the music (like having a sound engineer in the back dialing your sound as you play)
very clean quiet delay, very happy with the sound

I play Indie rock in San Francisco - the Replica has enhanced my stage sound like no other effect has...tap tempo and subdivision are remarkable tools for real time changes to your sound.
Been playing in bands since the 1980's - I use Vox amps, Fender guitars, a delay, Full tone OCD and a custom Wah- that does it for me.
I have about 10 delay pedals... Boss DD-2, DD-3, DD-5, DOD FX90, Echoplex EP3, Rack delays, Boss XL Looper, CMATMODS Deeelay(if you don't want to spend the money on a Replica, buy a Deelay from CMATMODS- you will not be dissapointed)--- I am a Delay junkie!!!
I love the sound of my Echoplex but I don't trust it on stage- too many moving parts, it is 30 plus years old and needs continual maintenance.
the Replica has managed to cover the analog tape sound in my mind with no additional noise from tape hiss...
I traded an EP3 Echoplex for the Replica- pretty much a straight up swap in value as far as I see (I do have another EP-3 I won't be getting rid of any time soon). Those guys paying over 400 for an old Echoplex are crazy- Echoplexes ain't worth that much!!!- If you got to have one track them on EBay- be patient- I got mine for 116 dollars!!!
couldn't justify buying one at retail price- till I traded for one and found out what they can do for you.... it is a sophisticated device that is probably worth every penny at list price- I can't emphasize enough the value of tap tempo and subdivision in a live setting- amazing functionality
The only downer is the massive wall wart and the 12 volt rating ( need to carry two wall warts in my pedal board now- not a deal breaker but the wall wart could be a bit more compact if they wanted to sex it up a bit.

RTE 3000 tape echo ( rexer/guyatone ) ???9???
Solid state ??? uses Ampex loop ??? 70-800ms ???
the unique thing was supposed to be proprietory
motor shut-off
??? the motor should shut off at zero input to save
tape life - uh-uh 60 cycle hum was enough to
keep it squirming ( fun to watch )
Colored tone a lot when off ??? this was no big deal ??? I used a
bypass loop thing ???
This way the motor stopped when not engaged.
I needed to replace the tape after 2 years
??? cost $15 ??? easy to do. There???s something just plain cool
about tape echoes
it even smelled good. Plus it had these UV meters all lit up
??? I set it on top of my amp and all the little lights
and dials made me a star ( maybe not ) After a
Couple of years the ???cool factor??? wore off and I got sick of
dragging it to gigs ???
I realized that the slap on my Ibanex box was actually better
- also longer time settings were TOO perfect
In distorted solos I lose some of immediate sizzle from
The tele bridge + Keeley + bassman ??? but ever single one
Of these toys does that. I don???t use echo on heavy break-up
Distorted suff ( I???m no Jeve Vatriani )
Didn???t really sound like a tape echo ??? sounds too good.
I had hoped that I would get that cool signal
Degradation from a tape echo ??? as it turns out a
NON tape echo box ( see below ) is where I
Found this magic eventually.
. Didn???t hold value well
Paid $760 sold for $325. Still I???m glad I had it for a while.
Fulltone TTE ???9???
This made me smile. Amazing workmanship. I preferred
the high speed ??? up to 650 ms
Very warm. High end was preserved better than the
Guyatone ( then it cost more also )
I never did change a tape on it.. I used it for 6 months
??? maybe 5 gigs. It doesn???t have the cool little meters
or as good of a smell as the Guyatone ??? but the TTE had
better tone me thinks.
. This did the sleepwalk 600 ms repeats fairly well.
Because it???s a tape style you can???t get the acoustic
chamber tone ??? but didn???t really expect to. Outrageously
well made unit. Held value better than the Guiyatone
??? paid $900 used sold: $850. If I was a studio person
and recorded original stuff and wanted elite equipment this
would still be with me. Like I said ??? I???m doing bar gigs.
REDUX ???10???
This was a surprise. It really does the 50s water tank sound
( only box that does this ) This box is where echo lives.
It has this ???offset??? knob that puts in a second bounce
??? you set it close to the first and the 600 ms repeats have
a wonderful out of phase color. It???s digital, true bypass.
. Max time is 700 ms ??? good for me.
( What do you do with 2 sec delay time anyway? )
so ??? for $200 you get a phasey kind of echo tone at long echo
settings that sounds better than a tape echo.( that???s right ??? better
than tape ) It sure doesn???t have the cool visual vibe
of either of the tape machines.
Like all the other boxes you lose some of that in your
Face tube sizzle using echo on distorted tunes.
The repeats enhance the primary notes but don???t overwhelm.
This is the thing I want for solos enhanced by echos in
The background and not stomping all over the melody.
them. Also you get Duane Eddy ( the real deal ??? cat???s ass of slap
back - this is what short spring ??? spring reverb is trying to
sound like ) No need to drag a big concrete water tank or
Tape machine into the bar. It???s 3 x 4 inches and you step on
the button. I don???t see any tapes that need changing or
moveable parts to break ??? then again ??? I do miss the little
yellow VU meters???..

Quite easy to use once you figure out the subdivision switch.
One small problem i had was that half the manual was missing from the box, so i had to download it from the T-rex homesite.
I rarely use the tempo knob unless i want an echo that's faster than i can tap. I simply LOVE the tap tempo, i heard that many people have problems with getting it to work, bit ?? think that they simply didn't know how to work the subdivision switch.

If it was lost or stolen I'd be really frustrated because it costs a lot... But I would get another one.

This pedal is very easy to use. There is a level knob, which you don't see on a lot of delays; I don't really play with this too much after I have set it to output at the same level when the pedal is on or off, but I could see it being useful in a recording situation. The other knobs are the standard tempo, repeat, and echo (mix) settings. The brown button will create a darker delay sound and gives the Replica another very useable voice. I don't really use the subdivision button, but it is important to note that this button only takes effect when tapping a tempo (some people seem to be confused about this). Having a tap button is great and is not a feature on many of the smaller, pedal board friendly delays.

I use a variety of guitars (Strat, Tele, Rickenbaker 370, Gretsch Country Classic) through a Tone King Meteor II amp, and this pedal sounds great with my setup. They didn't skimp on the A/D converters on this thing - it's quiet and makes a very accurate delay of the original sound. Keep in mind that this is not an analog delay, so it will sound much clearer; the brown button darkens it, but will not make it sound like a tape or analog delay.
Also, there are some digital delays out there that can't handle distortion or overdrive pedals very well. The Replica seems to handle these with ease and doesn't overload or create nasty digital artifacts.
This thing sounds like a studio quality effect.

I play modern and classic rock and this pedal can cover all of the bases. The delay time is very flexible, going up to 1.5 seconds, which is longer than most delay pedals out there. You can get great slapback sounds with a quick delay setting, or launch into outer space with longer settings.
One other thing that I was very happy to discover after owning this pedal for a while is that you can power it with a Pedal Power II power suppy, eliminating the need for the wall wart. You just need to set the to PP to put out 12.3 volts as opposed to the standard 9.
So - flexibility, great sound, and TRUE BYPASS to boot. What more can you ask for? The only possible negative I can think of is the price, but it is comparable to some of the analog delays out there and when you find something you love, it will keep you happy for years to come.

It is fairly easy to use. If you are very particular about your delay time the tempo knob can make drastic adustments with out much movement. The manuel is good, I wish there was more explanation on the tap tempo, (possibly a lack of my own familarity with the function).

Peavey Wolfgang-Planet Waves (truepassed tuner)-Clyde Deluxe Wah-Red Witch Moon Phaser-T-rex Replica-Mesa Boogie Triple Recto.
It's not noisy, except I will hear a little signal clip when I engage it on the clean channel. This does not effect or rob the tone at all. I bought it based purely on reviews. Maybe it's just me and my generation, but it decays a lot more than I would like. The repeats loose their clarity much quicker than I would like. I'm not looking for something sterile, just something that would repeat accurately without sacrificing tone or loosing signal quickly. This peddle does have a very analog feel. It would be nice though, if it felt digital with no decay in the repeats, and with no tone loss. Then you could use the brown switch to actually make it very analog feel, but it's not like that. The triple rectifier I use is already a very muddy sounding amp, then when I add this peddle to it, it kills the clarity and becomes extra muddy. I'm sure that on other amps the replica sounds amazing and adds warmth, but with the rectifier it is overboard. I've tried mine on the effects loop, and up front, but it just doesn't work. I do like how it doesn't affect my guitar tone, but with the high end cut, and the quick decay in the repeats it turns muddy in a hurry depending on your amp. I do like the way it feels with distortion, but it just isn't clear enough to my taste with my clean channel.

I've had no problems with this. It's seems very reliable. The knobs are very easy to turn if you need to make adjustments with your feet. The downfall of this it that the knobs are small, and too close to the switches, so if your not extremely careful when you engage the pedal you will accidently hit the knobs with your feet, and change the settings on the knobs, throwing your delay timings off. This can be very aggrevating in live situations.

I play everything from original modern rock, funk, phsycodelic, ska, experimental, and I don't know how to label it. I've been playing for 12 years. If it were lost or stolen, I would search to see what else is our there. I am very picky about my tone and my equiptment, this isn't bad, just not what I hoped for. This I'm sure is good as an analog replica (which it is). I just want something with modern day clarity and function that won't affect my tone. The best way to describe this is that it sounds old school without, the new school clarity. It sounds too brown from the "get go". I want clarity, without the sacrifice of tone, and true bypass. Email if you know who provides this.

Very easy as long as you figured out that you have to press the subdivision button BEFORE you tap a delay. It won't change the delay by just pressing the subdivision button. It won't work in conjuntion with the delay speed knob, only the tap button which makes sense.
It's made for getting your 4/3 delays on the fly. It works great for that.

I use a strat and a tele through a reverend hellhound and a rivera tbr. No noise and the delays are very musical. It sounds like spiky attacks are softened so the delay can be mixed fairly hot. Very useful pedal. I play R+B, rock, roots rock, ambient, jazz etc.......and it works fine for all these genres. It's not meant for manual manipulation. I would rather use an electro harmonix or a lo-fi delay like the Ibanez which has a tape mode that runs away and can be slowed and sped up with no reset. It's not meant to be a noise maker(I mean this respectfully) but it certainly can dub. The most important thing is that your guitar still sounds like it does when you ahut the pedal off and when it's on, the dry mix is pristine or rather, original.
I see the creme of the crop using these pedals all the time and for good reason. 10

Great customer support. I asked them if they add a quieter momentary switch for the tap tempo because I sometimes play in some very quiet environments where a standard switch click can be picked up by the audience. They sent it in the mail, overseas.

I've been playing live in small intimate clubs and arenas for 25 years. If it got stolen, I would miss it and want to replace it. Some said "buttery" to describe the sound of this pedal. I would say that and "seductive". I may put some big foot knobs on it like mxr pedals have. I would like to change the mix and repeat without out bending down.
Another feature that I almost forgot is the very useful level control, boost and cut, and the midi clock works fine. Also this thing works on +4 as well as -10 if you need it and automatically switches to the appropriate level.
Another thing I'd like to add is that by now, you can find out who has been using this pedal. You will find that it used by musicians who are exremely critical when it comes to tone. It does what it is meant to do, very well, and it's sad when a great product gets trashed because of ignorance. Do some research to find out if it's for you, if it isn't, don't badmouth it. wtf?

I was excited to try out the subdivision feature, but could not get it to work. The salesperson could not get it to work either. It was siggested that the owners manual be consulted. So, I consulted myself and bought another delay pedal.
Other than that, the tap tempo feature is great, and the knobs work.

No complaints. This is a digital delay unit, not to be confused with an analog delay unit. There is not much noise in this puppy. It does not color your tone.
I know what digital delay sounds like, and this one works fine.
I was not blown away by this unit and did not purchase it.

Well, I went into Truetone Music to by a delay pedal for my floor board of expensive effects pedal, and ended up getting the Maxon AD999, which has balls.
I got real frustrated when I could not get the subidivision button to do anything. And when the sales persion could not get it to work, I was through with it.
I was looking to add something interesting to my sound, and this pedal was not it.

Precision bass direct in
could not tell if it was noisy, tried it in the guitar store
the effects sound very goos and rich and un boss like. The delay pedal is dope, but pricey, sounds good true bypass, nice boost good sound like the brown switch, sound warm to my ears BUT!!!
the god damn tempo dial does not allow you to slow down the repeats
this has got to be the biggest mistake on this pedal everything else is cool, but when I go to slow down my repeats like I did years a ago with that nice old boss analog delay the red one - it f'in cuts out the repeats all together I had to try a second one to check it wasnt broken, most people like to mess with delays in this way so I canot understand the lack of this feature
otherwise I would have bought it##
it looks dope, sounds dope but is missing that vital experimental factor

what a shame, I would have had it for sure but the way the repeats cut out on changing the tempo slider sucks
they also with the tap switch its a sudden cut, they should trail off or at least be adjustable, this way it switches#
sadly have to look further afield mind you the sib stuff looks dope
REPLICA has top sound top looks top build qualityNORDIC NICE) good conectivity and not the overload of features the LINE 6 has
but why cant I mess around with the tempo dial and get freaky with it????
a classy delay for those that like to keep it constant
if I were rich I would have it - in addition to something more freaky
but I only got enough for one

Sound quality is fantastic. I don't feel it colours the sound much at all. In fact I think it may have been the earlier comment that has made me think it might. Either way it's negligible.
It really is a faultless product. And so it should be for the cost.
Have to ask why delays often have an infinite delay on them? It gets messy. Anybody know of any uses for that length of repeat?
The extra boost is nice and I'm sure once I get a decent valve amp I really notice the benefit of it.

I'm hoping it's reliable. Build quality seems very good compared to other products (both musical and otherwise). Not being a gigging musician I can't comment whether I would take it out and about or not. I can't see any problems with it taking a few knocks though.

Only been playing again for the last year after a break of over ten. Styles of music therefore are varied. In fact I'm pleased when I play something that sounds like a style!
I play a US strat with Shed pickups (custom made in the UK). My amp is basic and too loud for home use (it's a 30W Fender Champ thingy). I will no doubt get something like a Cornford of Koche(?) in the future but it will have to wait. To sweeten the dull amp sound I use a Tech21 Double Drive and to play with an MXR Phase90 and Dunlop Wah (really need something better, maybe custom job).
If it were lost or stolen I would claim on my contents insurance. Like I would for anything expensive.
I love the look and feel of the pedal but the sound is what matters. And it's good :)
I chose this pedal as it received better reviews than all the others, looked the part and was expensive. I'm a sucker for spending money.
I wouldn't mind trying out a reverse delay. This pedal doesn't have that feature.
If you could afford it I'm sure you'd buy it. We all make compromises on what we purchase. Only the very wealthy can consider the whole market.
NB: It's worth shopping around as I saved #40 on this. I even saw one sell on eBay for #40 more than the RRP!

I don't think that any delay deserves a "10" unless it will make my playing sound like The Edge of U2. This one is the closest I've found yet, so I give her a 9.
I have tried EVERY SINGLE DELAY on the market, including rack units. This one is the most versitile, easy to use, and best sounding pedal of them all. If I had to pick two pedals off my pedal board to take to a desert island this one would be my first pick, the other my KLON. It is not cheap. However, this company does not make cheap products. If you want cheap, buy a Digitech.
