Great for every application. Hitting d-boxes harder is o.k., adds some noise. Pumping the front end of a good amp-priceless. Amazing difference. Makes it sound like more of what it is supposed to. I use it to juice a number of tube amps with excellent results. Really loves every amp. Does not mask the pilot tone like a TS or similar od/distortion. I am beginning to HATE TS style overdrives because of this little box.

Won't need it by the build quality.. This is an older one. Heard TREX bought them??

Buy one, they can be had used for quite a bit less than new, but not very many used ones come up for sale. That tells alot about a pedals worth. Great value. You will love it.

Tried the Luxury Drive direct to my Valvetronix ADVT30. On the AC30 setting, provides awesome breakup when playing hard on my Fender American Ash Tele. Very touch sensitive and clean. I thought at first it would bring about too much distortion and muddy my sound, but brings about a warmth and richness to it! Actually on all amp settings it brings out a warmth and richness that is just lovely. And did I say touch sensitive....

Looks like it's built like a tank! I dropped it once and nothing happened, but don't plan to intentionally drop it in the future!

I am really getting into this pedal and I see good things coming from it. It's going to be my main pedal for my ADVT30 and hopefully will in the future test it out on my other pedals. I have several overdrive pedals including a Ross Overdrive, BB Preamp and a Sparke Drive by Voodoo Labs. For the price, it can't be beat. However, to tell you honestly, haven't heard the other 'boost' pedals but I am satisfied with this one.....right now playing country, rock, blues, jazz....

This one-knob wonder gives the guitar signal a nice boost which creates an appealing sound that I'm hard-pressed to define, so I'll just say that I like it. It drives my amp a little harder for a nice break-up. It seems to improve the sound of distortion pedals, but you could also use it in place of a distortion pedal if you just wanted a little edge for your leads.

One knob, is that easy or what. It makes a little crackle when you turn it but its a part of the design. You really don't need a manual with a one knob unit, but Tim does give you a paper with the drive.

This is where it gets good. I own maybe 15 boost pedals, many of them very good. I got this one just to check it out. It is now my #1 boost pedal... why? Because it sounds great. It compresses just a tine bit, and adds a tiny bit of treble, but a strat still sounds like a stat, and a LP still sounds like a LP etc. My guitars(Strat, Les Paul, ES335, Gretsch Horton Heat etc. still keep their identity but the signal is boosted to the front end of the amp (Dr Z maz 18, Z28, or Route 66 or Fender Deluxe 66 or Swart Atomic Space Tone) anyway they sound great with this pedal.... honestly it is the best one I have... for the money get it now.

I play, blues, rock, a little jazz. The bottom line is that this is the kind of pedal that makes you want to play more.. and you sound better. If you like pedals and need a boost get this one. I bought it just to mess around and check it out, now I have 2 of them.

One knob. It doesn't get easier! Having some tone controls might be useful, but are not necessary. It's a bright pedal, so I have to back off a little treble at the guitar when I use it.

I tried to use this pedal as it was advertised - to push another overdrive pedal, and was mildly impressed (not overly impressed). Using this pedal plus another OD pedal will start to raise the noise floor - but not too bad. Again, this works pretty good for this application, but not enough where I will make this my main use for the pedal. BUT, what is awesome about this pedal is to use it for my clean sound. I liked my Fender clean sound before, but now with the Luxury Drive it sounds amazing! I won't go back to playing clean without this on!! It adds a certain amount of presence and light compression that is incredibly musical. Sounds great with my Strat w/ noiseless single coils and with my Ibanez semi-hollow with humbuckers. When it is on by itself, there is no noise added at all. It really adds a significant boost, so I keep it just below 9:00 on the dial.

This pedal is very musical and I use it all the time. I play pop/rock and use this for the clean sounds and occasionally kick in an overdrive on top of it. I got a good deal on a used one in mint condition, and I would look for one again if mine got stolen or lost. I'm sure there may be better boosts available (Keeley, etc.) but not for this price. I was tempted to get the Seymour Duncan pickup booster, but I'm glad I got this instead!

the luxury drive has one (count 'em, one) knob. also accepts standard negative center 9v power supply. i hear dan quayle owns one of these & has mastered it.

the luxury drive is not really meant to be used in a guitar > luxury drive > amp set-up. i suppose you could use it that way -i haven't tried it- but it's really meant to boost or enhance a set-up that has some other signal-clipping device and/or wah/modulation/delay type pedals. i've been using the luxury drive w/a guitar that has humbucking pick-ups and a small transistor amp; i'm sure purists are moaning & saying "DUDE, you need a STRAT & a BIG TUBE AMP to get THE TONE, MAN!!" well i'm gonna assert that that's just not so. anyway, the only tricky thing about the luxury drive is where to place it in the chain. when using it w/only a distortion device (in my instances: hbe germania, urso splinter, euthymia icbm, maxon d&s 1), i've been putting the luxury drive FIRST in line. but, when adding wah/modulation pedals into the mix, i've found the luxury drive works best LAST in line (for example, maxon d&s 1 > lovepedal magicboy univibe clone > luxury drive). as others have stated in previous posts for the luxury drive, this pedal will make you try things you haven't done before: in my case, messing w/the tone knob on my guitar, which previously never backed off "10". also, i seem to like a different pick for each new set-up i try (i always keep my entire pick collection within easy reach when playing). & by the by, some type of noise reduction unit will probably come in handy when using the luxury drive. my particular brand is the isp tech decimator. there ya have it.

are there other boost pedals out there that sound "better" than the luxury drive? i dunno. i will tell you this-- i didn't care for fulltone's & zvex's versions of same. keeley's katana? haven't tried it, but it comes in at nearly double the price of the luxury drive. xotic's rc & ac boost things look interesting, but, again, are way more expensive than the LD. i'm making a short story long, ain't i? the lowdown: the luxury drive flat-out ROCKS. & i got a wah'd distorted luxury driven power chord flyin at yer noggin like a catapulted boulder to prove it. you'd better duck.

i play all types of music for 42 years and this does it all.it really does make everything sound better.you will not find anything any better in this price range.the build quality and neat wiring is exellent.i also use a barber ltd ,new style direct drive and a toadworks meat which probably may seam like overkill but with the lux drive it keeps the tube thang going offers many flavers.again i think 12 o clock down on the luxury drive is tasty tube with some sparkle added.would give TC a 15 but the rating stops at 10

Excellent! I have the "T" model, which adds a trim control. The "level" is like the gain, and the "trim" is the overall vol. With the trim maxed, the pedal sounds wonderful. As you lower the trim, it thins out. Keep the trim maxed, and put the level at about 9:00. It boosts vol (of course) and also adds definition and "magic".

This is a screamin' bargin! I had a fatboost, and sold it. I missed it immediately, but I couldn't find a good deal on a used one. I took a chance on the luxury drive, and I love it as much or more than the fatboost. It's simplier (by 1 knob) and it makes solos sound fantastic. I put it at the end of my chain for solo boosts.
I'm a total boutique/tone snob. This pedal is a keeper.

I use this pedal with my Fender Deluxe Fat Stratocaster in front of the distortion pedals (Keeley modded TS-9 and Analogman modded DS-1 Pro) into a Fender 410 Hot Rod Deville amp. The pedal really adds tone and sound volume. I kept turning it on and off just to hear the difference. It's hard to explain the sound of the pedal because it just flavors the sound of everything around it. Vintage Guitar magazine had a great article about the pedal that initially got me interested in hearing how it works.

So far so good. I used it so much during the first week and I had to replace the 9V battery. It seems well made from what I could see when I replaced the battery. I'm still not sure how it works but it does work.

Tim was very responsive to my e-mails. From what I understand, he does everything himself in his shop. He was very thankful for the business and thanked me for helping the "little guy." I would recommend anyone to try this pedal before the price starts to climb when people find out how good it really is. He won't be the little guy for long.

Not much more to say about this pedal. I suggest that you try it and see the difference that it can make with your effects, and your amp.
