Very good and easy to operate. You have either presets that you can editor or you can use the wizard to make brand new presets by analyzer your tracks.. and making a "master favourite"

Sound Quality : 10
Wow i can only say that.. ive tryed alot of software limiting and mastering tools, but they dont come close to the limiter and compression on this baby. Its superior. You can take a track thats -6db and get it to be at -0.1 db without any noticeble effect on the audiofile. Or for example you can take a track thats already limited to 0db and decompress the track.. and get a more "alive sound"

The most imporant thing when using this baby is to use it correctly. Best results i think is when you take a recorded track and run from a lownoise cd player into the finalizer, then you master the track. Doing it this way, you can really get a good result. The finalizer is like a sponge on the audio.. that suck up all the sounds in the track so dont blame the machine if you suddenly hear a earthloop or something.. its been there from start so you have to remove the crap before you start to master /advice ;)

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem with it.. but the unit does love audio thats below 0db... othervise it cannot compute and make the magic.. so i would recommend to record tracks or play them at around -0.4 db.. to have some headroom to work with.

Ive had problems with my m3000,and it took half day to get the service-people to both give me a url of the repair-peoples adress, and also they does the feedback once its been repaired.. and checked how you liked the support etc...

Overall Rating : 10
Ive done masters in all kind of music with this baby.. no problems.. i belive that its the closest mastering you can come... if you dont work as a mastering-engineer... big difference!

Ease of Use : 8
It is easy to use but care is required for a top quality end result

Sound Quality : 8
Sounds are good

Reliability : 2
Desperately unreliable products - certainly not worth the investment or risk considering the cost

Customer Support : 2
TC always seem keen and appear helpful. Unfortunately their Agents are completely useless and seem to have had no product training whatsoever. If you buy a TC Electronics product, as long as it does not go wrong you will be happy with the quality of the end product. However if you have a problem, you are on your own, which is not really acceptable considering the cost of the products.

Overall Rating : 2
We use this and many other TC products in a studio environment. We are in the process of changing from TC equipment because of the reliability issues and more importantly the poor quality of back up offered, or even if available

Relatively easy to operate. Easy to edit. I had version 3.5 software. That's the latest revision as of 10/14/02.

Sound Quality : 5
I was running mixes from a Zoom MRS -1044 to a Phillips 950 burner. The mixes using the optical cable alone actually sounded slightly better to me than the mixes that went through the Finalizer 96K.

Reliability : 8
I think this unit is built reliably. At that price it better be.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No dealings with the company.

Overall Rating : 5
For my simple set-up this unit did not help my sound enough to justify it's cost. It's a really neat box and easy to operate and maybe extremely useful to higher end pros but for me it was simply a waste of time and money. I returned it to the online store I ordered it from with apologies. I hope they refund all the money to my account so I can get a better bang for my buck.

The manual is strait forward. The unit is almost a no-brainer to figure out, it also has a built in Help Menu. Mine came loaded with ver. 3.0 software. Editing partches are easy. Just use common sense.

Sound Quality : 10
Primarily this unit is being used as a Mastering tool. There are tons of uses for this thing. I haven't had the chance yet but I'll try using it on the front end too. Currently it sits between a Roland VS1880 and HHD CD Burner everything is conected digitally. The converters in the T.C. are fantastic. Your sound can be shaped as needed and punched up as much as you want. The outcome is unbeleivable. You get Pro quality masters. I can make my mixes sound fat and warm, big and wide, or loud and abnoctious. This unit does everything that they say it does and with lots of character. It's too easy getting good sounds out of this unit.

Reliability : 10
Seems to be built well, just got the unit so time will tell. I'm confident with TC gear however.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no experience.

This unit is world class, no doubt about it. If used properly you can produce some really nice pro level demos. It costs an ass load but for once, you get what you pay for!

very easy for me i have all tc stuff, if you have 1/2 of a brain you can run their stuff .. manual is great .. i run mine in a loop on my echo lalya 24/96. i run my master track thru it. i use a optical cable

Sound Quality : 10

crystal clean..ive been playing guitar for 20 years .. ive been recording at home for for 15 years .. i reached a point now that my songs really sounded great.. i do stuff like steve vai,,joe satrani
i used alot of plugins on cakewalk for my mastering like the waves c-1
all kinds of stuff but it just sounded like it was missing something..
i talked to all the semipros on line they said get a finalizer 96/k
so i finally did. well i feel like kicking my self in the ass for waiting.. this unit does magic. i ran my first mix thru it it sounded
unbleavable.. its so fun to use theres so many things you can do with your mix to make it sound diffrent but they all sound just like they were mastered in a pro studio (this is the missing link) i telling you get one you wont be disapointed.. i see alot of guys selling them on ebay saying dont need any more useing plungins.. ive been there. theres no plugin that sounds like this.. and i dont work for t.c. either.. e-mail me if you got questions millertime121@juno.com
