Somtimes the unit would not boot up, I figured out that it had a cold solder joint on the power switch, I re-soldered the switch and have not had a problem since. That was three years ago.

It is not as simple as stomps but after few weeks it gets easy and user-friendly. It seems very logical to me most of the parameters and menus.

Sounds great for the low price. It doesn't colored your tone at all. I use it with my mesa roadking through the loops and it sounds great(it takes some time to adjust the input/output levels on the g-major so can get the max out of your amp)

I've babied this unit(not even a tiny scratch) and the wheels don't work properly(extremely unreliable) and this is happening with a lot of people and now the it doesn't power up... so hopefully it will get fixed, but this whole situation is a real hard time... it seems sooner or later most of these units encounter some kind of issues...

I've played over 15 yrs. professionally and this unit has great sound but it is VERY unreliable, so Think twice before getting it. I could give some headaches. Guess is better to get the g force or th g system in the tc world (g major uses some cheap parts made in asia)

I plug it on a serial loop of my Laney VH100R. Just a few teaks and I got good sounds of it.
Editing patches it's not difficult to someone who had another gear like that (racks or midi pedalborads).
I thought it was very precise. In 2 or 3 hours, in 2 days, I've learnt everthing it has to offer.

Guitars, Jackson Kelly KE-4 (I think)and Ibanez RGFM320 (both w/ Seymour Duncan pickups); Laney VH100R+TT412A; ISP Decimator; CryBaby; and a Digitech RP-12 as controller.
It's not noisy. Very clear unit. Does not colour the laney's tone.
It substitutes a lot of stomp boxes... It has all the "real necessary" effects, and some not so much. Modulations and ambiences are very good.

The knobs seem to be weak, but if you take care it wont make a surprise. Buy a good rack case. I always carry a RP-12 as controller, never needed to use it as backup, but "its there".

I play pop, rock, heavy and instrumetal musics. Its a very versatile unit. I like that it has an amp control jack. It lets my life easier. It has less features than another units but for me its perfect. I already have a good amp/drive and just wanted good basic effects, no color tone and no more dancing on stage.
Its a professional sound unit, even at that price.

This processor is very easy to use I had no problems what so ever programing it. I have heard of issues with this unit being used in the front end of a guitar amp. I had no such issues. It has plenty of output. I put the output to "consumer" and it was fine. The manual sucks shit I mean dam TC really needs to get it togeather with the manuals..

I am running this thing into the input of my amp in MONO before the G-major I have a Twin Tube distortion. It then goes into a 63 vibroverb amp. The sound is amazing I love everything about this unit its the perfect effects processor. The sound of the reverb is perfect all of the effects are great and they are all studio class. I am a sound engineer for 20 years. I have been a guitar player for 30 years. I think anyone that thinks these effects sound bad should have there ears checked.. Is it easy to get the sounds you want... NO.. if you have never used a high end processor before its not easy to get sounds.. But once you get them look out. I have modified my TWIN TUBE so that control one and two will switch my overdrive on and off. Giving me three channels one clean one dirty and one lead. This thing rocks trust me get this you will be happy.

This is a proble the encoder wheels on the front of this unit suck they break and unless your an electronics tech like me forget about replacing them your self. I would STRONGLY recomend that you get a good rack case for this and make sure you use the knobs gently. TC knows about this problem I called them to order the part " they gave it to me for free" that tells me they know all about this.

I give a zero. Always problems with the pot for adjusting the parameters - the pot is jumping. Forget about to clean it, it is not possible. I have changed the pot but the new one is also bad after 2 month. Had several problems with the power-supply too.
The quality of this product is (i' sorry) realy bad and not like the tc units built in former times. Cheap chinese or .... parts.

Like anything piece of gear that has so many functions, it takes a bit of time sitting down with the manual. Once you get familiar with it, it's straight forward.

The effects are top class! To get anything better you would have to spend well over twice as much and even then I doubt the difference would be that noticable. Since I've owned the G-Major I've owned 3 different amps. I change gear like underwear because I'm so damn fussy about my sound. The one piece of gear I've stuck with is the G-Major, because I've neve felt disappointed with it. The Delays and Reverbs are crystal clear and none of the effects colour your original tone. The are breath-taking. This unit can take the most bland of clean sounds and make them come to life! The coolest thing is the ability to change channels on your amp with it- saves a lot of tap-dancing! Some other effects units have this function, but usually only allow you to switch between two channels, and often you will have to rewire the lead to get it to work the way you want it. The G-Major will change up to 4 channels!

I've gigged solidly with it for 2 years and it has never let me down. I try to be careful not to knock the data wheels, as they protrude and could be easily damaged.

I play rock covers and progressive metal, but even a jazz player would love the sounds you can get from this. If it were stolen, I would get another one, or spend more and get the G-System.

Very easy, connect to the FX loop(s) of your amps, adjust input/output levels to match. Check out the factory presets - very nice demos, then start tweaking and saving your own custom patches, can be masteredin about half an hour.

Simply stunning, no tone sucking, the noise gate works like a dream, you can easily adjust it to preserve long sustain notes. Set the patch to run in parallel mode to keep clarity and prevent the effects muddying up each other. This is better than any sub 1000UK pounds Lexicon reverb/delay rack.

Had it for 2 years and not had any problems, keep it in a rack and its looked after, all these guys with 'knob' problems must be less than gentle with the unit, mine seems rock solid.

Mostly neo-classical, prog rock, usually with buckets of gain, but as I get older I'm finding that I play cleaner and cleaner, and this unit sounds great in either amp 'mode'. Compred to about 3 lexicon rack units and a whole bunch of messy floor pedals that didnt work as well as this does in the FX loop. Fo rthe money you cant beat it, no reason to upgrade tot he G-system as this is basically the same processing unit.

Using a Les Paul DC through a Tremoverb created nice and clear, near studio quality effects. Very subtle, but no option for more extreme settings. Pitch shifter is useless.

Version 1.27: It takes some turning of the knobs to get the right sound. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SERIAL EFFECTS LOOP FOR THE MAXIUM EFFECT! Programming may confuse the standard stomp box guy, but it is easy to learn.

My favorite is that there is no distortion!!! I have my Mesa Rectifier for that... Here is my setup PRS SINGLECUT>MESA DUAL RECTIFIER>TC G-MAJOR>MONSTER P500 CABLES. Sounds kick ass! Every patch reacts like a bunch of stompboxes, and therefore has different levels, unless you set it otherwise.
