Ease of Use : 5
Great sounding chorus, reverbs and delays. Pitch shift and tremolo decent, but not top notch. Fairly complicated to create and edit patches, unless you have used other modeling/processor type units. Manual is next to useless, so previous experience helps. Version 1.27.

Sound Quality : 6
Using ENGL SE and Ibanez RG 2550 EGK with Blackouts. Unit moderately noisy, but nothing a good noise gate can''t handle. Use an external gate, the included one is not up to par. Effects sound very decent.

Reliability : 1
This is why I wrote this review. THIS UNIT SUCKS if you need to gig or even practice uninterrupted. I have read a lot of reviews that detailed the unit "hanging" or "locking up", but I took my chances because of the good sound reviews. The unit worked for 10 minutes, long enough to try out about half the presets. Then the screen locked, cut out my sound and would not respond to any buttons. The only fix was to power down. Upon powering up, the unit worked for another 30 seconds then repeated the lock up. I got this from MF thankfully so they took it back and I am getting something else.
I cannot believe that a manufacturer spent SO MUCH TIME creating good sounds only to have some QC bug make the $400 unit USELESS. Maybe if you never leave the house with the unit it's OK to randomly lock up like other people experienced, but locking uup even once makes it useless for gigging, and in my caase the PIECE OF **** didn't last long enough to explore the presets. DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY CAUTION CAUTION

Customer Support : 4
I read a ton of customer support emails from other users with the same isssues. The company's solution is to exchange it for another one. ??????????????????????
And risk having the same thing happen? No. My money goes to a company that can make a reliable product and not such a piece of total useless junk

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing for 3 years steadily and a long time on and off before that due to school. I have worked with a lot of different types of equipment from a lot of manufacturers. If this unit was stolen, I would feel sorry for the poor bastard who tried to gig with it and ended up being booed off the stage.

EASY, Thats why I bought it.Just like tweakin pedals.Store your own presets in a second.Tc manuals are always pretty easy read.

Sound Quality : 10
I trust Tc products, they seam to have a nice warm sound.I use it in my fx loop,no noise,no tone loss, just great effects.Ive tried it with a jvm/diezel herbert and mesa triple recto, all with ex results. All of the effects are useable, all sound great, its not like there is fillers here just your basic everyday effects.
You can only use one effect & reverb.so for chorus/delay/verb I use my H20 (my favorite chorus) & TC verb.so If you need multiple effects better go Gmaj or G force.

Reliability : No Opinion
well see...the first one out of the box was bad fx side was bad.however no fx unit is perfect.

TC support was on the ball got a reply same night of delivery and sweetwater exchanged it,and tc got back to me to make sure i was happy, thanks Colin!

seems to be pretty easy to use, when it works. i like the adjustment knobs as opposed to scrolling through digital parameters.

Sound Quality : 7
pretty quiet, reasonably decent tones on the reverbs and delays, but still has that digital tin can quality. i may be unusually critical here, but every digital unit i've ever used has an undesirable metallic tone. this is better than most, but it doesn't sound anywhere near as transparent as a quality tube reverb tank ( i use a kendrick). i am playing through a soldano decatone which is a very good sounding amp imo.

Reliability : 1
this unit brand new works intermittently. it seems to put itself into bypass mode when you try to use the controls. then you have to unplug it, let the power drain, and plug it back in and hope it resets. when you plug in the included footswitch, it goes completely into bypass mode, that is, totally inoperable. very frustrating.

Customer Support : 1
the fact that it doesn't work properly is a downer, but that happens. what has me steamed is that i tried several times to email the customer support address in the manual to see if i am missing something. i spent the time typing a detailed explanation of the problems i am having, only to have my email inquiry repeatedly rejected. there's no phone number and they seem to have the support line set up so you can't get through to file a complaint. i guess i don't need tc in my life.

Overall Rating : 2
if it worked, i might keep it. if i could contact tc, i might be able to make it work properly. as it is, i'm returning it. i have played 30+ years, have quality equipment and no use for stuff that does not perform reliably and well. if you buy this one, i hope you have better luck than me.

The G-Sharp is a fairly straight forward piece of equipment. Basically just have to put it in your effects loop and plug it in(includes power adaptor). Anyone who's ever used a multi-efx before may not even need the manual but it is pretty well written as well except for some misprints such as the functions of the footswitch buttons which are reversed on the "B" setting for some reason. The manual actually says that you have to set the footswitch to the A or B setting manually but actually all you have to so is select the preset mode to be on or off and the footswitch will work automatically according to either choice. Editing presets is very simple: just select an unused number, set your effect and verb and hold the load button down.

Sound Quality : 7
I like the sound of most of the effects on this unit. I don't really ever try to sound like anyone else so I can't say whether this is a good emulator unit. The delays are nice and transparent. All the reverbs are excellent and there are really more to choose from than I'd ever need. The phasers and trems are decent but then again I never use them...just nice to have the option i guess. I am not a fan of the two chorus or the flange though. The chorus' sound a little too wet. I'm also used to my old digitech multichorus that allowed me to change the number of voices in the effect. The flange doesn't seem to move at all no matter how I tweak it and I think I'd need to run stereo speakers to get the true effectiveness of it.
My setup is a Schecter Damien 7 with Active EMG's > Boss TU2 > Boss NS2 > G-Sharp > B52 AT 100 head > (back through the NS2 again) > BBE Sonic maximizer > (Amp return).
My set up, especially my amp, has always been pretty noisy but the NS2 takes good care of it. The G-Sharp will add a little hiss to any set up but this is only noticeable if you don't have a noise supression on. On thing I noticed with this unit is that it boosts my volume a good deal from the get go. I actually had to turn down my amp volume a couple of notches which was great because now I have even less feedback getting past the NS2.
One thing I'm not too happy about is that although the manual says this unit features delay spillover, it doesn't actually have it. When I switch from a delay/verb preset to a verb only preset, the delay cuts off which can sound bad if your not careful about timing. Also if you change from one preset to another that has a different type of reverb, the signal will cut out for s second, which in my opinion is really no good. I don't think I'd have bought this unit if I'd known about that before hand. Fortunately I'm not so heavy into all kinds of effects that this is that big a problem for me. One other weird thing about this is that when you run it in parallel mode, which i think is by far better sounding than linear mode, you get volume increases and decreases when you switch either effects or reverb on or off. This can be a good thing for boosting solos an what not but it's an odd thing if you don't expect it.

Reliability : 9
So far I see no reason to feel nervous about it. I have it in a professional style flight case so I'm not worried about damage. I've used it already at a few shows now without a back up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea about this.

Overall Rating : 8
I play progressive/death/black metal and I do think this unit is a good match. As I've said I'm not that heavy into effects so for basic needs this thing is pretty much adequate. The main reason I bought it was so that I could get rid of my pedal board and all the annoying cables running too and from my amp. Most of the pedals I used were like the NS2 and the BBE Sonic Stomp which are on all the time anyway so I didn't want all that stuff in from of me anymore. Now all I have in front of me is footswitch for my amp and the G-Switch for this processor. Much more convenient if you want to move around on stage a lot. Also I got it because it was affordable and the reverb on my amp is broken. The many reverbs are my favorite feature. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to use two effects at once so I could use chorus and delay at the same time. This isn't a big loss though.

Ease of Use : 9
This unit is a guitar FX processor with two engines, Effects and Reverb, designed for the EX loop of a guitar amp. The unit explains itself. There's an input section with a Gain and a Mix for each engine. Each engine has 15 settings, Reverb with 2 parameters and Effects with 3 parameters. There is nothing here a guitarist who has used footpedals and reverbs will not understand. In 12 o'clock position all parameters offer TC's recomended setting and these act as "Presets". All chosen settings can then be stored to the 99 personal presets. These can be selected with a foot switch or midi pedal. The Unit can be switched between parallel and seriell routing. This function must be pre-selected cannot be foot-switched which is a handicap sometimes. The promised delay spill-over is not functional. The manuel is comprehensive and well illustrated.

Sound Quality : 10
This must be a straight 10. TC offer the finest sound quality in this price section, period! The Effects are lush and high class, with sparkle and depth. The Reverbs can stand against most studio engines. The Springs and Plates are full of character and colour. This unit is a small sound jewel. It has it's limitations, but what TC put into it is first class and state of the art 2006. Depending on what is demanded, I run it through a Fender Tone Master and a Blues Deluxe. Also through a Peavy Classic 30 and 50 and a Marshall JMC2000. I don't have to change the settings. In High-Gain, there is a little humm and swisch/swosch on the Phaser.

Reliability : No Opinion
No problems yet..

Contacted TC regarding the Delay Spill Over. They have a software problem somwhere here. My unit will be replaced as soon as it's worked out. They promised to have things straight by the Frankfurt Music Mess. We shall see.

Overall Rating : 9
You pay ,I play. I do the Galas,Swing, Blues, Country and Rock, So I need transportable set-ups that cater for almost any style. The TC G-Sharp gets me the high-class sounding FX I need, be it Slap-Backs, Echos, Chorus, Reverbs or Phasers....you name it. It's all in a small 19" rack the size of a tuner at the tip of the toe and it sounds like a few thousand Euros in a refrigerator size rack. This unit is conservative. No big suprises here. You get the basic guitar FX in what must be the best quality available at the moment. This thing has to become a classic.

This is the easiest to use digital effects machine I have had so far. Sounds can be dialed in with a flick of a knob. No need to go through overextensive menu's and parameters. You can if you want though via the computer editor. The manual is very clear, but the machine is intuitive enough to launch this thing without it.

Sound Quality : 8
It is difficult to get bad sounds out of this thing. Yet it is very easy to get your own trade mark sound. Just dial in a sound from scratch fiddling with the old fashioned knobs. Or get in deep with the editor. All effects are very good. Your guitar sound is never degraded. Every bit of touch sensitivity is captured. No noise from this machine. The amp I use with it is an Engl 530 pre, and a Peavey classic 50/50 poweramp.

The downside here is the promised delay spillover. The spillover is only there when changing presets from patches to wich ones that hold delay effect also. This means that there is no spillover to be heard when switching from delay to any effect without delay. I wrote to the tc support for this matter. They replied promptly, but only to say that due to the RAM limitations true delay spillover was not possible whithout do consessions to max delaytime. And that they had no intention to fix this problem with future firmware upgrades. So, pretty big screw up here I think.....

Reliability : No Opinion
No problem. TC stuff was and is always sturdy and dependable. So far I don't feel the need for back up. No opinion in rating this topic. I just bought this thing.

Customer Support : 1
Very friendly and prompt support. Only pretty stupid to promise something in the manual that is not in this machine, now or ever in the future!

Overall Rating : 8
The sounds are awesome by itself. Easy to use in a live situation. If it was lost or stolen I'd probably buy a G-Major for the spillover thing. However, the nice knobs on the G-Sharp would make me doubt a lot.

It's a very musical effects machine!

It couldn't be easier. The G-Sharp mixes old and new technology. For the live users or computer skill challenged crowd you can use the simple but tested front panel knobs and buttons to select effects and make changes to parameters. For studio use, there is much more. Download the free editor/librarian software and you get on-screen control of all parameters via midi and VST plug-in support as well. The software download includes an upgrade ( again via midi ) of the G-Sharp firmware and makes editing, saving, and backing up your presets a breeze. This is one key reason I bought this unit. The manual is good, but nothing special. It has a typo in the specifications noting that the digital input has a 48 kHz sample rate only. It's 44.1 kHz only, just like the TCE C300 which I own as well. I find mistakes in nearly everyone's manuals and have come to expect them.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using the G-Sharp in my home studio as a dedicated guitar effects unit. I like the fact that it has both analog and digital I/O and can sense the signal type without having to tell it which is coming in. I do not have to program this each time I change routing options. In my home studio, I have several methods of recording electric guitar and I do not mic amps because it is too much trouble. I do mic acoustic guitars because there is no other way to get a good acoustic sound. I'm running a Sansamp PSA1.1 in a serial connection through the G-Sharp analog inputs and can route either my Cyber Twin SE or Vox ToneLab through the digital inputs and back to my DAW. The reverbs and delays are excellent. The other effects are par. The unit is as quiet as expected and in line with other TCE products costing more.My score reflects sound quality for the!!

Reliability : 10
Seems to work fine. The software works well with the hardware. No complaints

Never used.Upgrade is via software and takes some computer skills, but no more than other products.

Overall Rating : 10
I play and record all types of music, mostly stuff I write and compose myself. It's my hobby. I've been playing for 30 years and own a lot of gear. I do not play live. I typically record electrics using a Les Paul, Strat, Tele, or ES 335. I also use a Lexicon MX 200 which has editor/librarian software as well. The G-Sharp reverbs are just as good, just different flavors. I chose the G-Sharp because I didn't need the top of the line for my hobby and I really like computer screen control instead of fiddling with the panel on a rack across the room when recording. I'd replace it if it were stolen. My favorite features are the rich reverbs and delays and on-screen editing of the preset parameters via software. Again, this unit is a fantastic value for the price.

This unit features old fashion turning pots and rotary selector. Could not be easiest.
Works almost as a pedal. To save a preset, just hold a button. I like it.
The inconvenient is to re-edit a preset. Some leds matching all buttons light on when you reach the pot position it had when saved.
If you turn only one pot, only this value will be changed.
Very intuitive and stage convenient stuff.

Sound Quality : 8
The reverbs are really nice, special mention to the vintage ones (spring, gold plate, etc). Not many pots to set up, but the main one is "color tone".
The modulation sounds are also very good. Delay at maximum feedback are looping timeless.
I notice a hush during a few seconds when turning some pots.
I use the G-Sharp in the effect loop of a Carvin X60 amp.

Reliability : No Opinion
Have it only from a couple of days.

The documentation is clear. The web site looks complete and updated.
But never had to deal with.

Overall Rating : 9
I play Pop Rock Jazz for a long long time, with various guitars (les paul to archtop jazzer).
I purchase this unit to replace a chain of pedals. The main point was to have real pots to turn, and no scaring parameters.
If I compare the reverbs with my old RV3, the G-Sharp offer much more rev type with a comparable quality.
The chorus sound will not sound as good as my old TC SCF, but sound good enough to me.
Delays are at last as good as Boss dd pedals.

This unit should stay a long time in may rack from now.
