Ease of Use : 9
Easy to use as long as you understand the basics of reverbs, delays, and modulations. Every tone is easy to obtain. It came with a heck of a manual.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using my M-5000 as my main reverb and delay unit in my small home studio running it into a Digi002. Perfect reverbs - very detailed and useable. Delays are a thing of beauty. I often just plug my guitar into the M-5000 and bask in the stunning reverb. This is reverb you just can't go wrong with.

I also use it's MD2 Mastering software and find it to be very good. It's not as good at mastering as, say, a Massive Passive, but for most broadcast work it's more than neccesary.

Reliability : 10
I feel bad for the guy below me - it sounds like he got quite a lemon in his M-5000. Mine has worked for years without so much as a hiccough (hiccup, for you Americans). I'd trust it with my life if there was a way to do it; never, ever had a problem.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...! TC Electronic HATES offering support for any of their discontinued models, like the M-5000. I guess they expect me to drop $12,000 each time they come with a new product. After 3 weeks of trying to contact them through their "help" page and via email I just phoned their sales line. He, at least, told me I'd likely never be able to track down any of the modules that are designed for the M-5000, and TC Electronic won't make any more. Forced obsolecence!

Overall Rating : 9
I've been a musician for more than 20 years and now I work in broadcast. The M-5000 is an amazing tool, esp when you consider how much these cost when new. For beleiveably placing a sound in space this is the best thing I've ever heard. I tried their M-3000, and it's sure a cool unit, but it didn't hold a candle to the M-5000.
I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a near-flawless reverb and damn good delays.

Ease of Use : 7
Very easy to use. The manual is a bound notebook and is very comprehensive. Everything you need is right on the front panel and storing your patches is easy if the unit works!

Sound Quality : 8
The sound quality is definitely TC mellow reverb similar to the TC3000 except you can tell there is a lot more processing power. There are no gaps in and the reverb is very dense and natural sounding
If it works.

Reliability : 1
If it works. Buyer beware! They have a new line and are selling off these units as "factory sealed" and "demo". Mine fell apart the 3rd day. The unit froze up and the reverb just disappeared for no reason.
It put out such a hum that I had to move it across the room and run it through another circuit. The master output sometimes just ignored your settings and blasted your ears. The troubleshooting routine that comes with the unit software says there are errors on the disk drive. I certainly would not do this again. Be very careful with discontinued units from these folks.

Customer Support : 1
Terrible! They have avoided me like the plague. They tell me I should talk to tech support and of course you get voice mail and no reply. It's the old "dead dog" vaudeville routine where everyone knows this dog is dead but no one will bury it. So far no replies at all and 2K on the line.

Overall Rating : 1
I'm sure a working unit would be fine but the old adage 0 times $2000.00 is still 0.
