Love the simpliesty of this unit. One of the best straight forward designs. Easy to save new presets ,easy to edit. well done tc electronics. Manual I download, but never completely read it. the release version on the rom is ver 1.10

Sound Quality : 7
Vocal, lead intruments , wind instruments the best I heard so far. But and do mean but, I was disappointed in keyboards - patches. It's very clean sounding effect unit. Crystal clear sound but missing a character of what unit should have to identify itshelf from others.
100 program presets and think 100 user presets - I am up to 30 saves settings.

Reliability : 8
No call to tech supports, no problem idea just under 4 months (2006). Although at the store where I purchased mind, I saw a defect M-one XL right next to the my own. So I took out extra insurance on the unit cost $26 more.

Customer Support : No Opinion
again no calls ----

Overall Rating : 5
For the price $170 Used it's a safe bet but not fantastic , no preset or user setting so far blew me out of the water ! It's a good quality sound effect unit. Nice to control and change the environment of the music you are playing.

Non professional midi studio - funk , soca , old school music.

Could I do with it, if is gone , you sure bet I can do without this one at that price. I it's think too clean, it cuts some bit out of music this one.

Very user friendly! Easy to set up new effects and patches and the graphical display is very informative and looks nice too!

Sound Quality : 10
The quality of the reverbs in this box is still great even though the unit has been around for a few years now. It comes with both balanced analogue as well as digital I/O:s and integrates perfectly into both domains. Sound is very lush and you can make it do just about anything from subtle room reverb effects to heavy limiting and dynamic compression. And everything is MIDI controllable.

Reliability : 10
In short, this box is rock solid. I dropped it on a concrete floor at a gig once and the rack mounting thingy broke off (had to weld it back together), but other than that it's been working great. It never hangs or bugs out. It just does its job, like it's supposed to, non-stop, and it hasn't complained once. I've had it for about five years now. :)

Customer Support : 10
I haven't had any problems with the unit, so there was never a reason to contact customer support. I think that's a big plus in itself.

Overall Rating : 10
It's good for any kind of music, and I would definately buy another one. Actually, having two might not be a bad idea considering I use the one I have so much. My favourite feature would probably be the great User Interface which must be one of the best on a rack mounted unit ever. I use this unit together with the D-Two and Triple-C, and together they make a great team! Accept no substitutes, this is the one you want!

I am fimiliar with it but at first didnt think it was too difficult. says on the parameters and face what is going on and the manual is nice...so please read it

tc makes great stuff and thank god I tried this before I bought a lexicon mpx 500...this is the unit to buy...very very transparent (thank god!!)man just cant beleive some of the kool clear sounds I'm getting from this unit!!all the effects sound great and Im very impressed.

Reliability : 10
it sits in my rack and doesnt move so I dont think I'm a fair judge for this, but I never ever had a problem ith it...but I know 3 people that have had them for a couple of years and there has never been a problem...I thank them for letting me try it out so I didnt make the mistake of falling for another unit AKA the lexicon mpx500 which was pretty good but doesnt beat this in any way!!!

Customer Support : No Opinion
dont know

Overall Rating : 10
I definately would buy another one!!!this is nice unit and like all the effects and if youre skeptical --god sakes man lay the money down for this unit and you will not regret it!!!that is all...so get the lead out

It is pretty easy to get good sounds out of it.I've found that the FX routing has a lot to do with the quality of sounds you get out of it.Easy to edit and the manual is well done.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this for home recording, mainly guitars, bass, keys and a drum sequencer into an Akai hard disc recorder.I'd say the results are pretty excellent overall-I tend to prefer the chorus(TC's specialty)and delay related patches but really wish it had a rotating speaker effect. As with most FX units I've found sounds I like and others I don't care for.I've done some great recording with this unit, though.

Reliability : 9
I've never had any problem with it but it's been used mostly for home recording. When I have used it live in the loop of a guitar or bass amp,I also have had no problems with it.Lately,I've been using a Alesis unit in the loop because it's cheaper ans sounds good but it's much noisier than the TC which I think is a pretty quiet unit.

Customer Support : 8
I e-mailed them once to ask a usage-related question and they e-mailed me back within a few hours.I was pretty impressed as there are companies that won't even get back to you.

Overall Rating : 9
I play original stuff that has fusion, rock, funk and blues elements.I'd say it's a good match(I especially like the delays).I've been at it for almost 25 years and use professional level gear.I have used the M-ONE in the loop of a Rivera guitar amp and an Ampeg bass amp and it sounds pretty great. There's better units out there but for this price range it's a worthy consideration.

The M1 sounds good right out of the box. Editing is very intuitive. Manual gives basic instructions and tips of how to get the most out of it. Routing flexibility is excellent.

Sound Quality : 8
I'm using this in a PA FOH rack. I run the system in mono, therefore I'm using the M1 in dual mono mode. I use one channel for a vocal reverb and the other for the drums. Most of the time I use the ambience or hall reverb programs with under 1.4 sec decay times. It's not my PCM80, but I didn't pay $2000 either. It works well for my application.

Reliability : 8
It's working flawlessly so far.

Very good value for an MI class reverb.

Frankly, the manual is rather simplistic, but clear. It does outline the basic functions of the machine pretty well but if you wanna do something more sophisticated with the unit, you're on your own (or maybe u can e-mail the guys at TC.

Sound Quality : 9
I use it mainly for vocals. I do mostly ballads/pop/blues/rock, which means I usually use only very subtle amount of effects anyway. But what is rather important for me is knowing that everything, no matter how much, sounds right with my voice.
I use a AKG 3000B mic (for studio use only, of course), a SPL Goldmike tube preamp, Focusrite Voicemaster as compressor/EQ, M-ONE usually comes in here, and then finally a Korg D16 digital recorder. I'm thinking of adding another EQ or something like an Aphex Aural exciter after/before the revreb...but then again, it's probably too much.
Sound quality, you ask? This is strictly a personal opinion, of course. But I must say that when I listen to myself through the M-ONE, I feel like, erm, marrying myself.
That's right, folks. I'm in love with it. I wonder how I ever managed to record with the onboard effects of my D16 (sorry Korg guys...I appreciate the efforts though...). Of course, I'm aware that there maybe other really cool effect units like M3000/2000/FIREWORKS or from Lexicon, but let's get serious here: for this price, it's a killer!
Before I finally bought it, I was in doubt whether or not I should opt for the Lexicon MPX500 or MPX1...the guy at the shop strongly recommended the M-one...so without proper listening (I only manage to listen to it for like 20 minutes, which in my opinion, is less than adequate), but only with my gut instict, I bought it. And, man, what a good gut I've got!

Reliability : 9
Should be pretty trust-worthy, I assume. Not that I'm gonna let anything happen to it.
Gigging with it? Of course. But then again, I play guitar/bass too, but it looks like the unit is gonna be for vocal/mixing use only...I don't know how to change the patches in a live performance with the M-one. It says on the manual that it can be done with a MIDI controller, but, honestly, I think I've got enough to take care of already...ain't gonna bother learning MIDI for the time being...

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them before.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been singing for about 10 years and the only reason I remain semi-pro is because I just don't like getting too involved with the show biz industry. Everything aside, I think I am confident to say that I have more than professional ears for vocals---and believe me, M-ONE is a great buy if you wanna add the extra bit of warmth, depth and brightness to your sound.

Its fine. If you have any experience at all sitting behind effects boxes, you will be fine.

Sound Quality : 5
i will repeat what another reviewer already said....if you are looking for really good reverbs, go elsewhere. i have never been so disappointed after i brought a piece of gear home. i own a D-Two and a Finalizer 96k from TC, so i have no beef with them.....but i don't know why they but their name on the M-One. i liked my $200 lexicon MPX-100 ten times better. i have since purchased a PCM-91, which is the ONLY choice for reverbs in my opinion. but that is another post, all i can say here is to avoid the M-One.

Reliability : 8
i already sold it, but i am sure that it is still working for the sucker who bought it from me.

Customer Support : 9
fine. the TC guys are great.

Don't buy it, seriously.....unless you like the sound of #@$%

it's ok. i've seen worse.

if you're looking for high quality reverb, go else where.
i once owned an alesis quadraverb 2, and i thought the alesis sounded better. for someone who is picky and is using it for studio work, don't buy this unit. trust me. go with an mpx-1, it's maybe 250 more, but it's worth it. i don't understand these people saying this m-one has excellent reverb. it's above average, i mean, it's not junk. but it clearly doesn't have the transparency or ambience i was looking for.

Fairly easy interface. The manual isn't great but it's pretty straitforward and intuitive. The menus are pretty easy to navigate through. No problem here.

The one BIG con (for me) is that the mix/balance knobs are global. I like to be able to switch live to a lot of different patches. It's very hard to set patches up so that they work with the knobs in one particular "compromise" position. It's usually doable, but it takes a lot of work and time because I have to do unnatural things like edit the net volume of the patch on my trixis since I can't do that on the M-One. I really wish TC had made the knob positions editable/storeable (a la peavey's tranfex interface -- knobs circled with variable lights!). The M-One seems perfect for home or studio use, but it's very difficult for live applications if you want to switch between a lot of different sounds. If it had peavey style editable knobs, I think it would be an 11!

Sound Quality : 9
Love it. The reverbs and delays are just great. And this thing is SO quiet! I like the chorus and flange. That's about all I use. However, the pitch shifter seems weak / artificial to me; you can practically hear gaps/warbling in the processed signal.

Reliability : 10
I trust it. I play out with it without concern. Haven't experienced any glitches.

Never needed any.

I play modern/alternative music (not too heavy), progressive rock and rock/blues. I've been playing for about 15 years. I play a mesa triaxis through the M-One through a mosvalve poweramp. In fairness, I think the M-One is a very high quality unit (espescially for the price), and I would recommend it highly.

For me though, I really wish this had two features it doesn't. First, editable mix/balance (see above). Second, an extra engine. I find I really want the option of three effects. I like to use a very light chorus and a medium hall reverb as my base sound. For solo stuff, I would prefer to add a delay without having to give up the chorus.

I can't wait to hear what the TC G-major sounds like (coming out next week?). If the verb, delay and chorus are as good as my M-one, I will immediately buy one and put my M-One on auction. If not, I am toying with the idea of buying a second M-One and hooking up digital to digital. I would probably not do this though, because I think even with four engines to play with the global mix thing will still bug me.

Overall, this thing is what it is -- it's very high quality. For me though, it's an ok fit but not a great one.

This unit definitely has a bit of a learning curve, but the basic functions were easy to figure out on the fly. The manual tends to be more of a sales pitch than a technical guide. If you just want to use reverb then you'll probably be happy with many of the factory presets.

Sound Quality : 7
I use this in two basic guitar rigs: 1) Fender 70's Stratocaster + Boss Blues Driver + TC M-One + Fender Super Reverb combo, 2) Gibson 92 LP + Marshall JCM800 + TC M-One (in effects loop) + Marshall 1960 cabinet. I've also tried it in my home recording studio. The first thing that I noticed is that the M-One is pretty noisy. I measured its RMS noise floor as -76dBu at 20-20Khz on an AP, mix set to dry (I am an electrical engineer). This is quite a bit noisier than the pro standard of -90dBu or less! You can hear a good deal of hiss noise coming out of this thing. So don't put it in front of a high gain guitar amp, and don't use this on a quiet instrument in the studio. Noise aside, the reverbs, delay, & parametric EQ sound good. Unlike most, I found the pitch shifter adequate for subtle harmonies. The rest of the effects are pretty embarrassing. The chorus & flange are very dull and washed out. The phasers are just too overwhelming. The rotary sound is good, but you have to set the mix control completely wet for this effect. For live shows this sucks, because the mix is a knob on the front pannel. This thing is probably best suited for the effects send/return of a live mixing console.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had it for a couple of months

Customer Support : 5
It has taken me a couple of weeks to get my emails answered. The fact that they are in Denmark doesn't help matters.

Overall Rating : 6
It is a noisy unit, but its reverbs sound pretty good. The Parametric EQ can help tweak your tone. The display looks cool, but I would rather have usable modulation effects than bells & whistles. It is a tool that can easily be replaced.
