Easy to use as a chorus flanger, very intuitive. The pitch shift part is not as clear, wish I had the manual. Sounds fabulous as a stereo chorus or flanger though, and that how I use it, last in the chain. In the studio, I have seen producers and engineers with these pedals in their racks.

I use 5 or so pedals before the TC - Morley volume wah, MXR LImiter, Vox Valve Tone, a Tube Screamer, Line 6 DL4, sometimes an MM4., this with a variety of guitars and mostly Fender amps. The TC's dead quiet, it has massive headroom. And the buffering, headroom and adjustable gain pot are just great, they improve tone by being in the chain because they load your pickups better and you can optimize the amount you drive your amp's preamp stage with the pot. This besides having a state of the art audio quality.

Totally dependable, no backup needed, just don't step on it. However I bought mine used cheap because the power cord was intermittent at the stress relief plug where the cord enters the box. If you take the thing apart you'll see these stress relief plugs create a wicked angle on the power cable, so if the cable gets kicked a few times (likely what happened)it's not surprising the power cord would break. Better the power cable than some internal component though, so actually that's a smart design. I cut the cable, resoldered it into the board, and recrimped it into place. Good as new.

Nope, used gear. But the company is a Pro Audio company with a decent reputation.

If this was lost or stolen, I'd have to sell something to able to afford another one. But it's one of my top of the list items; it doesn't just do the job, it's one of the best. The only thing better would be a TC 1210 rack mounted programmable chorus unit.

Well it is a bit more difficult than may old Boss CE3 but it is way more versatile too.

OK like I said it is a little more complex than a Boss CE2 which is bone simple and it can not sound as thick as the Boss either. Yet that is waht is good about it. Leads are much clearer although the sound is not as deep for rythem as I somtimes like. But this also has a phase switch that adds a whole dimension including a fast phase that sounds like a leslie way cool bra......
Plus it is much cleaner no hiss aduible and the Boss is very noisy by comparison. I have used others like the H20, nobel, boss CE3, cool cat etc all nice but this has the best overall. Plus a line volume.

Speed, Depth and Intensity (Mix)... pretty straightforward really.
A simple switch changes you into flanger mode or mix between chorus and flanger.

My favorite chorus is the roland jc-120 tone... Andy Summers-type tone. This pedal is the closest you can get to those 80's era tones without A/Bing with the amp itself.
Not a watery, psychodelic chorus. Classy and glassy. Noiseless

This is a really great chorus... super clean and easy to use. You can crank the settings and get some weird tones.. but this is a much more classy, use-it-a-ton chorus... not of the gimmicky sort.
If you want tons of strange chorus, check out the red witch. But for a jc type response... look no further.

Well, its rather simple to use. Speed, depth, mix, and output volume. It doesn't really get much easier than that.
I like the fact that it has an input gain level, although my guitar and amp setup doesn't really cause the thing to clip.

I am using a Fender American strat, a Gibson Les Paul double cut, and a Gibson Les Paul Classic 60's neck.
Sound quality is very clean, virtually no noise.
I really like the overall frequency coverage of the unit. I had previously been using a Boss Super Chorus pedal. In comparison to the Boss, this TC electronic doesn't dull down the playing dynamics and detail like the Boss.
Also, the TC electronic make the high-end frequencies shimmer nicely with the chrous, noticeably better than the Boss.
I am using this pedal in the effects loop of a Crate V32 Palomino amp, which is using a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and running with EL84 power tubes. Its a really nice guitar amp which sounds really smooth on the gain channel... and it really rocks !! It really complements the sound of any decent pedal hooked up to it.
I don't use the Flange mode that much. I bought it mainly for the chorus. However, the flange does sound nice. My favorite thing to play on the flange is the intro to "Hear About It Later" from Van Halen's Fair Warning album.
However, running both the chorus and flange together makes a nice lush sound.
I really like the silent switching of the unit. I don't hear any kind of popping or clicks coming through the amp when switching.

So far the unit has been reliable. Never broken down. I have not noticed any difficult in using it.
I have had it about six months now.
However, I don't frequently switch it in and out. I typically will run with the thing on for a few hours and sometimes leave it off for a while.
Build quality looks solid on the exterior.

I like a mix of rock and blues playing, with a mix of clean, mildly driven, and heavily overdriven hard rock sounds.
I have been playing guitar for about 15 years.
These days, I want to keep a simple formula for my setup. Along with my above mentioned guitars, I am running a TC Electronic Vintage Delay, this SCF pedal, and my Crate V32 amp.
If it were lost or stolen, I would definitely get another one.
I have only compared it to the Boss CH-1. At nearly three times the price of the Boss, I can say it definitely sounds at least 3 times better. The frequency response of the unit, coverage of the effect, preservations of dynamics and detail, and silent switching were exactly what I was looking for.
This pedal definitely complements my sound and playing.

I have many great high end choruses. I own the retro-sonic chorus aswell as the analog man chorus. Please feel free to read those reviews. I hate to read a few bashing reviews of a great product. This is one excellent chorus. In fact, I like this chorus better than all of my other choruses. It is a very clean, transparent and lightly shimmery chorus that sounds incredibe! I also get irritated that people say the old one was so much better. I have owned both and do not agree. If this was the case don't you think Eric Johnson would use the old one? Check out Eric's web-site it specifically states that he uses a newer tc chorus. I also saw thim live using a newer chorus. If this chorus sucked as someone stated do you really think Johnson and Gilmour would use them? These guys have the resources to use any pedal they please, come on. I suppose we are to believe that your ear is superior to Johnsons, yeah right. Please give a reasonable rating, if you don't like the pedal, fine; however, do not give it a rating of one, two, or three. This type of low ball rating only shows your stupidity.

I gave this pedal all tens due to the fact that it recieved some bogus scores here. I believe this to be a product worthy of the score I bestowed upon it. I would have paid $300.00 just for the chorus alone, so I think it's a great bargain.

I bought this for the chorus effect; don't have much need for the flange and modulation. The chorus is fairly easy to dial in. The manual if pretty concise, but there was nothing I needed to know that wasn't included.

I use a Gibson Chet Atkins SST (acoustic / electric) through a Fender Steel King combo (200 watts and 1 - 15"). I have not used effects pedals in a LONG time, but now feel like it is time to add some color to my sound. I chose the TCI based on reviews and reputation- I had not used one. I am VERY happy with the sound; it is extremely clean sounding chorus. It can get very big, if needed.

An expensive, but excellent chorus. My only issue is that I wish I could slow down the speed just a bit more. Of course, backing off the intensity will remove some of that heavy "whoosh" this box will deliver.

I used this with a Fender Princeton Chorus at the time (I no longer own the pedal). No noise - just clean chorus. I thought it sounded pretty good in my chain of effects, which at the time I was using an Echoplex for delay and the two combined sounded great.

Here's where the problem lies.
For a $300 pedal, the build quality is 50/50. It's like how the newer Honda Preludes are beautiful on the outside and very robust, but the interior is like a plastic toy - that's how I feel about this pedal.
I bought the pedal because I got sick of using Boss pedals and at the time, I was very much into Eric Johnson's sound and I knew he had been using a TC Electronic pedal for quite some time. I had some money to blow so I did just that; and came out with this killer chorus pedal. The thing sounded great, and really was/is built very well. It's not a flimsy pedal by any means. But it only served me for about 2 years before it just crapped out. The one part of the pedal I would say is unreliable is the stomp switch, in that it's bogus to even call it a "stomp" switch since if you stomp on it, more than likely you will break it. What it really is is a push switch with silent activation, and it has a metal cover. That's all it is. It's really more like a button. But my switch would activate and the lights would blink. It just flat out "didn't work anymore". So I was very annoyed by that, since the one time I spend a lot of money on something it goes bad. I tried to use what little electronic expertise I had to fix the thing, but to no avail. I finally got sick of it and gave it to a friend in hopes that he could get it fixed and have a very awesome pedal for cheap. As far as I know he just threw it away.
Bring an extra chorus pedal with you on a gig. If mine just "went", who knows. Can't guarantee it.

Please don't get me wrong; this is a great pedal and in all honesty, if you can pull an "eric johnson" on your equipment and run custom switches to everything, you can eliminate the need to ever have to step on this unit. Although I know that's a bit far-fetched and not everyone has that option. In that case, just be very gentle with this pedal. It doesn't have that beefy Carlin switch like the MXR pedals do. For what you pay for this unit it should be a little more reliable, but I guess anything can go wrong with just about anything you buy. Other than that 1 out of 100 problem, this thing kicks the crap out of any other chorus pedal out there. It's very similar to a Boss chorus in sound but you'll feel and hear the difference in comparison.

It took a while to figure out the intensity control but in general it was OK. Besides if you are playing with a crowdy band on stage it is sometimes hard to find one more electric plug to plug in. So the individual electric cord sometimes causes hassle

1979 stratocaster, ash body, rosewood fingerboard. Effects are vox v-847 > ibanez cp-9 comp/lim. > v-810 vox valvetone > boss od-3, voodoo lab micro vibe > boss dd-3. No noise or so at all. Clean an transparent. Chorus and pitch modulator are great. It has some great tremolo, vibrato sound and fits my modern rock-blues type perfectly Flanger can be too metallic on high intensity levels, hence seldom I use. No problem for me

I'm using it with an acoustic guitar (Larrivee OM-9 with Baggs Element), running either straight through the board or a pair of Fender 1250Ps (powered monitors, make great acoustic amps, two for a good stereo setup).
I AB'd it with a Boss AD-3; the TC chorus was far better in two regards: 1) the overall quality of the sound; and 2) the transparency of the sound. I felt like I didn't lose any of my guitar's natural tone with the TC, whereas the Boss definitely colored it--not that that's necessarily bad, but I prefer the transparency.
The switch is totally silent, which I like. There is good control over the stereo spread, and the selection of three types of effects is very nice.

I've only used it at three gigs. I'm a little nervous about it because of reviewers who say they've had reliability problems, so I'll be carring the Boss AD3 as a backup.
I like that it has a built in AC powercord instead of batteries/adaptor. I did have to wiggle the plug to get it to turn on at my last gig, but I think (not sure yet) that it was the outlet, not the plug, that was the problem. Gave me a scare though, 'cause I immediately thought of the reviews here that complained of reliability issues. We'll see... and perhaps post again...

No experience with customer support. I tried to get a manual from the TC Electronic website, but apparently this unit's no longer in production and they don't post legacy manuals. Which is a strike against them.

I play singer-songwriter americana. This unit is a good way to get some nice tone expansion on an acoustic guitar without getting caught up in a lot of effects pedals. I use very subtle settings with it, prefering the pitch modulation; I'm glad it has lots of range, because the subtle end of the spectrum is very important and, IMHO, too often overlooked.
