Ease of Use : 10
Very easy to use.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound of this is really very good. Very open, very clear, with a bit of character and color. It can be used for absolutely everything. I put everything through it, DI keys, mic'd guitars, mic'd drums, vox, the works.

It's very expensive but for a top quality pre it's not overpriced at all.

The one word that springs to mind to describe this unit is, "classy".

I have a range of pre-amps at my disposal: Focusrite Trackmaster, RME Fireface, Allen & Heath GS3 mixing desk, Joe Meek...these are all very good but the MP1A is just so much better...there's much more to the track, a certain type of breath and air and naturalness to the signal that is not apparent using the other pre's. This is especially apparent when DI'ing keyboards.

Reliability : No Opinion
Tube Tech has an excellent reputation for everything. I bought mind second hand and it's never acted up at all. I've now had it for 4 months.

The build quality is obvious on inspection, very high.

Its got a 5dB increment gain stage from 20-70dB. a 20dB PAD switch, 48V and a HPF rolloff at 40/20Hz. Unbalneced line inputs on front. Its so simple!

Sound Quality : 10
Ive used it as my main tracking in overdub sessions. Guitar, baas, kickdrum, smare etc. Everything simply sounds amazing. Opn, tight bottom end and a nice high end (not to sibilant) I guess its rather transparent but has a kinda Fairchild feel to it.

Reliability : 10
Rock Solid. Build like a tank and its blue!!! Its similar outlay as the Vintech 72 but a bit cooler (I think). As with all valve/tube units it takes a few seconds to "warm up"

No opinion. Never used it, allthough a friend of mine have visited the factory in Copenhagen and they are very friendly. These guys are enthusiasts and love what they are doing.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Ive worked on SSL, Neotek, Elberg etc. This takes the place. Its rock solid, sounds really great on everything, amazing as D.I.
