Ease of Use : No Opinion
First off let me say I'm the designer of the pedal so I will enter no opinion on this reveiw so the averages are untainted.

This pedal is very easy to use. It has a Boost volume, a Distortion Volume and Gain. There's a Bypass switch and a Distortion Switch. also there's a switch on the side to change the pedal from symetrical to assymetrical clipping.

Basically, if the pedal is ON then the Boost is working. To add distortion you use the distortion switch. Simple enough. Changing the clipping switch will either have harsher clipping or softer clipping.

There's no tone controls but the pedal is designed not to need it.

Here's where the pedal shines.

The Boost is technially in parallel to the distortion and not in front of it. I called it boost because it has far more total vomue than any active bass, thereby Boost. This is a clean full range tonally neutral boost. It's simple and highly effective.

The Distortion is a simple feedback loop clipping distortion which rolls off the lows at about 110hz. This means that the lows don't get muddy or flubbery and are supported volume wise from the boost, that's why it's not bypassable. The second thing this does is gives higher notes sing and sustain. With enough volume and gain, feedback like a guitar is very do-able.

Unlike other units that have a blend control, the BassDriver gives the user full control over the seperate volumes allowing for more total volume increase and a huge variety of tones. It works really well with guitar also and gives a cool jazz effect.

If someone wants only the distortion then all they have to do is turn the Boost all the way down.

Reliability : No Opinion
All Uncle Ernie's Effects come with a 5 year warranty that we stand behind. They are built as heavy duty as we can and are tested harder than most products out there.

Customer Support : No Opinion
We pride ourselves on our customer service, something most companies don't have anymore. I'm available almost 24/7 and usually return emails the same day. Not many companies have the owner as the company contact.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Our pedals are built and tested by hand one at a time. There are many out there that are custom built for an individual as can be seen on our website. Our mission is to provide the highest quality, best sounding, lowest noise, and visually appealing pedals out there that's backed by the best customer service possible.

Thanks Tim Wagoner

The uncle ernies bass driver is a very straight forward pedal. there isnt anything on it to look at and ask "whats this do?" everything is explained in the very simple instruction and info sheet. 3 knobs, 2 channel buttons and one switch is all the pedal has on it, and it doesnt need anything more.

the sound quality is outstanding! i bought this pedal to give me tone a very dirty and gritty sound without creating fuzz as previous pedals i tried had done. and it worked as i hoped. i use the distortion channel mainly, and its the tone i was looking for. very nasty and dirty. i love it! but when i do choose to use the clean boost channel is adds alot of body from the bass without muddiness. i use it with my ampeg svt 3pro and 8x10, when i have the drive knob turned all the way up on the dist. channel i do get a little bit of feeback when i face the cab. but, i dont face the cab when im playing so this is not a problem. i havent gotten a bad sound out of it yet

Reliability : 10
the craftsmanship that goes into each and every uncle ernies pedal is unsurpassed. and i have seen and used a bunch of different guitar and bass pedals. each unit is hand built, how many companies can say that? and a 5 year warranty in case anything does go wrong. no complaints here.

ive been talking to tim, he has been great since i talked to him about possibly purchasing the pedal, to now owning one for a month or so. again, the 5 year warranty is a great feeling as well.

Overall Rating : 9
i mainly play metal with my band, which is what i usually use with this pedal, but ive also used it in just jamming at home and with different styles and techniques, from funk to metal, and anything in between you can set this pedal so that it will really make you question why you hadnt gotten one sooner.
