The pedal has Chorus and Echo. I was surprised at the variety of sounds you can get out of the Chorus from a phaser type of sound through standard chorus sound through a vibrato sound. On the Echo side, you can get a good slapback and echo effect, but you have to experiment on your own with the settings. For example, to get the slap back effect like Danny Gatton, you have to turn the level to maximum while the manual only recommends setting it to 12 o'clock. There is a switch on the top of the pedal with can change the echo from short to long. You can hit it with your foot, but it is a little tricky to do on the fly.

I am using a strat copy with Fender Hot 50's pickups into a Marshall Ed the Compressor > Jekyll Hyde Overdrive > H2O > Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe > Fender Hot Rod DeVille 212. All of my effects have bypass in them so they don't color the sound when they are off although I feel the Compressor does affect the sound slightly even when off.

As I said above, I was surprised at the variety of sounds that can be achieved with the H2O. On both the Chorus and the Echo, the sounds are consistently warm, smooth and silky, not harsh in any way. The Echo is very analog sounding, and does not have that brittle digital sound. I have used other Chorus pedals where you can dial in a warbly effect that is not useful in live settings. All of the sounds on the H2O are useful. Take your pick. There is no volume boost or drop when you kick in the effects.

As an extra bonus, when I use the Chorus on the H2O with my Micro Vibe, it makes the Micro Vibe sound great. Up to this time, I had a love-hate relationship with the Micro Vibe because it was too swooshy in a non-musical way. The H2O seems to tame the Micro Vibe so it is usable.

Reliability : 10
It's made of metal and seems sturdy, but time will tell. I use it on a pedalboard and am very careful with my effects so it should last a long time. I recently got the pedal so it's too soon to tell, but I gig every weekend and my Jekyl Hyde has lasted so I don't anticipate any problems with this pedal. I gig without a backup.

I emailed Bob Weil, the owner of Visual Sound with some questions and he answered me within a day. From what I have heard in other reviews, this seems to be the norm for this company so I don't have any doubts about customer support.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play in a working band two to three gigs a week, and have been playing guitar for over 35 years. We play all kinds of music: classic rock, modern rock, country, oldies, Irish, etc. If it were lost or stolen, I would get another. Chorus and tremolo are effects I use a the most. I'm waiting for a Voodoo Lab Tremolo that's on back order to complete the pedalboard. Since recording in a studio recently, I got turned on to delay and that is why I decided to get the H2O. I find the pedal to be a great sounding pedal. It doesn't overpower your sound. Rather, it blends with your sound. At times, it seems subtle, but it's there nonetheless.

Both sides (the chorus & Delay)of this pedal is very easy to get a GOOD sound out of. turn a knob or two and your set.manual has some good info.

Sound Quality : 10
I have about ten guitars and a couple amps,,,,, this pedal is very quiet. Both FX's sound great.I use it some at home thru a Crate VC3112 all tube combo and also thru a Fender Princeton chorus combo,,,,,, sounds very good with either. I play a church and there I go strait to the board without an amp,,,,, (from guitar to pedals to board) sounds fantastic!!!!!

Reliability : 10
It's built very tough ,,,, I've got a VS RT66 and also a VS J&H , nither one has caused a problem so far!
Yes, I'd go without a back up for any of my VS pedals!

Customer Support : 10
I've talked (emailed) Bob Weil (VS is his company)when I bought the RT66 and the H2O,,,, he got back to me very fast each time and was VERY helpful,,,,, I don't thing it will be a problem IF it needs a repair.

Overall Rating : 10
I play at church on the praise & worship team,,,,,, it's great for the styes we play,,,,,, Very contemporary christian , praise & worship (heavy blues,& rock flavor) IF it were ever lost or stolin I'd try to get another as soon as I could.it is replacing two BOSS pedals (I'll keep them just in case anything ever happens to it)It bought it because it love the other two (2) VS pedals I have. It really does help me make music,,,, VS is some great stuff and is a great company to deal with!!!!!!!

Very simple to use, 3 knobs for each effect. What you're use to seeing in other effects as far as parameters go. Instructions give you great sample settings for both chorus side and delay side.

Sound Quality : 10
Awsome, The Chorus is fantastic because it's very thick but by turning the knobs it has very different sounding chorus sounds. I'm amazed at all the different sounds it captures. The Delay is simply one of the best I've heard in this price range. It's very analog sounding and it's o'so easy to use.

Reliability : 10
I have his Rt.66 and his Visual Volume and have had them both for about 2 years without a problem. I'd sure this will be the same.

Customer Support : 10
I've talked with Bob Weil several times and he always answers his email in a matter of days. He's great and has a great company.

Overall Rating : 10
This pedal does what you want it to. It's two great effects in one neat package and it's very quiet. Like his other pedals I expect this to do well. Give people a great product at a fair price and it will be a hit.
