Was a little confused when I first got it (and from trying to get my head round it from the internet before it arrived!) but the manual is comprehensive and I soon worked it out.
I have been looking for a brick that could power both my ELHX Memory Man and Aramat Soul Patch Fuzz, plus my other more standard 9V supply pedals. And well this product has done just that - with isolated outputs it meant I could power the aramat (grounding), plus with the dip switches on across two channels I have powered my Memory Man (using a combining power lead you can get from Voodoo Lab or in the uk Soundsgreatmusic).

I haven't yet tried this in a very loud / band setting ... but the theory is that with isolated channels you should get minimal interference ... what I can see from the build quality I wouldn't doubt that at all ...

I felt compelled to write this review. Whilst it's not cheap it is a superb product. If you are looking for a unit that is configurable and dependable then it's worth paying the odds.

The manual can be a little bit vague at times but if you're only concerned with simple 9V pedals then the unit is a breeze to use. I had to call Voodoo Labs to order an 18V cable to use with my EQ, and again to figure out the voltage and current for outputs 5&6 to see if they'd power my TC Nova pedals. They do, and what's more, they're supported in that configuration with the voltage selectors off normal. But the manual makes no mention of the TC Nova pedals even though Voodoo Labs has tested them with the product. It should be a little better written and include compatibility info.
Mounts perfectly in my Pedaltrain with the hardware they supply.

I'm using this unit to power:
(Through the 9V/12V/18V DC outlets)
- Dunlop 95Q Wah
- Korg Pitchblack tuner
- ISP Decimator G-String
- MXR 10-Band EQ
- TC Electronics Nova Modulator
- TC Electronics Nova Delay
(Through the pass-through AC outlet)
- Two Blackstar HT-Duals
The power is dead quiet. No hum, no noise. Exactly what it should be.

Yep, it should last a lifetime provided it doesn't get hit with a surge. I don't really have a direct backup to it so I guess I'm toast if it dies in the middle of a gig, but I'm not worried about it.

These guys are the best. I called them three times. Once before I bought the product to make sure it was going to power what I planned on putting on the board, once to order an 18V cable, and once to see if I could power my TC Nova pedals. They answered the phone in person on the second ring each time, and I spoke with Harmony who is basically the phone support. She is very knowledgeable and personable, and helped me each time. Made my day when she told me the Novas were supported and tested on the "Line6" outlets 5 & 6. They are a small company and really give you personal support. A+

Been playing 25 years. Mostly hard rock, 80's hair kind of stuff. In addition to the pedals above, I use a Line6 Spider Valve HD100 and 112 combo, Avatar 412 cab, etc. Went back to pedals after a couple of years with the PODs because, let's face it, the pedals sound better live. This unit is a fantastic value because of all the powering options. I nearly bought a Dunlop DC Brick, but canceled my order at the last minute because I found out this one worked so well with my Pedaltrain and what I was putting on it.
Only thing I wish it had was a couple of outlets to power those high voltage pedals like the Blackstar HTs that take 16V. You can't power as many pedals as the DC Brick can, but it sure saved the day by being able to power the TC units. That alone was worth the price of admission. But the AC outlet made up for what it was missing, I guess.

pretty easy out of the box. the manual covers most of the things you need to know. but for more detail, go to voodoo labs website. for example, the manual doesnt list all the mA's for each output, but the website does.
i use a pedaltrain board so it mounts underneath. very convenient.

i currently have 15 pedals on my board, only 4 of which can not be powered with this unit(2 are AC, one is a passive volume, and one im just powering with a battery) So, that's 11 pedals powered with 8 outputs available. and there's still 3 outputs left! i just dont have anymore room on my board for more pedals. before the pedal power, i would have had considerable hum but now i get anywhere from extremely minimal to none. i've also never had any problems with power fluctuation.

Takes away all the hum of adapters. I used previously a daisy chain with a TU2 and there was a great amount of hum. this power supply got rid of any ambient hum present.
Do note that if you are running 2 or two pedals with maxed out gain, there will be ambient hum, but significaly less than with power adapters.

Well, compared to a Visual Sound 1-Spot this thing is certainly more complicated. As stated elsewhere, you CAN fry your pedal(s) if you don't observe proper polarity when connecting them to the Pedal Power 2 Plus. But then, that can happen with any power supply really. The PP2 offers some great options that place it in a class by itself IMHO. Read the manual carefully and check those polarities!

This unit solved all my power AND noise problems in one fell swoop. Needless to say, I'm happy. My effects setup is the following (in order):
Peterson Strobostomp(V1) -> Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe -> Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah -> Fulltone Fulldrive II MOSFET -> Fulltone OCD -> MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay -> Boss RC-2 Loop Station
All interconnected by GeorgeL cables and mounted on a Pedaltrain 2 that has the Pedal Power 2 integrally installed underneath it.
Prior to getting the PP2, I had to use two power supplies because the Boss RC-2 would whine like crazy using just the 1-Spot. When I gave the RC-2 it's own Boss power supply, that cleared up but it was still a slightly noisy chain. Not anymore! The way that the PP2 integrates seamlessly into the Pedaltrain is a God send to as it really simplifies my rig so much. No more messy wiring -- just plug in the board and off you go. But even the convenience factor would be relatively meaningless if it was noisy and this power supply is absolutely pristine!

Overall this pedal power supply is absolutely the most professional way to power your battery operated (and all 19-24VDC pedals) effects pedals. The outputs are completely isolated and individually protected which means that even if one of your pedals craps out or shorts, the others are safe. I recommend the Pedaltrain 2 as well because of the way this power mounts right underneath by design, and the open space plus angled deck gives you everything you need in a neat, professional package. Nice job Voodoo Lab!

I had a problem with noise. I go through in order,Boss TU2 tuner,Cry Baby Wah,Ibanez 808 Tube Screamer,MXR Phase 90,Boss Flanger,Boss Digital Delay and Ernie Ball Volume pedal.I was powering everything out of the TU2 tuner and used short pre-made patch cords.I bought the VooDoo Labs Pedal Power 2 plus and the Planet Waves Patch cord kit. After placing the pedals where they go on the board,I made each patch cord with no wasted length and hooked up the VooDoo.After spending $169 for the VooDoo and $59 for the Planet Waves Kit,I was very happy to find almost zero unwanted noise.I run my pedal through either a Fender Blues Junior or Fender Tweed Blues DeVille 4x10 depending on the gig.I tested it with a Reissue 57 Strat through the Blues Junior (my noisiest stuff) just a slight little buzz that is barely detectable

I've been playing for 45 years and most of that time did not use pedals very often.I've been playing in a Classic Rock and Blues band for the last seven or so years and I need to replicate sounds from Hendrix,Gilmour,Allman,SRV,Gibbons etc. so this is it.I think with the noise reduction using the VooDoo and Planet Waves custom made cables my pedalboard is COMPLETE!

I play in two cover bands and there's a special project going on, every once in a while. This demands a lot of tonal flexibility, and since i opt for stompboxes, mounted on a pedalboard, i thought i needed a decent power supply. On my pedaltrain 2 board, it powers (in effects chain order) a Fulltone '69 fuzz, Dunlop Jimi Hendrix wah, Boss TU2 tuner, MXR Phase 90 phaser, Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe, Danelectro Cool Cat chorus (18 volt model) and an Ibanez TS9 overdrive. If stolen or lost, it would probably mean that my entire pedalboard was gone. But i would get another pedalboard with either the Pedal Power 2 plus, or the Burkey Flatliner. The lack of noise and the stable current it provides, are the reasons i wanted it, and it does just that. There's nothing to hate about it. Depending on what i'm into at any given time, i like to play around with the SAG controls. These work exceptionally wel with my fuzz. Gives it a nice "crackle". Before this, i used a Dunlop DC brick, which was okay until i got my fuzz, because that has a reverse polarity, and the DC brick can't deal with that. At first i got a Visual Sound One Spot especially for the '69. After a while, i dug up my trusty old(ish) Cool Cat, and the DC brick started making my tone harsh and unstable. That was the moment i decided i wanted something more professional. And seeing it on pictures of other pedaboards made me curious. Turned out to be what i wanted. Shure makes my life as a guitar player a lot easyer.

I put '5' because there's a 50/50 chance you could fry your pedal, actually more like 25/75 because reverse polarity protection diodes might save your pedal...if you don't know what you are doing.
Being familiar with batteries, PS's, pedals, etc. I just grabbed the DMM and made certain my stuff was polarized correctly, each pedal before applying power.
If you use Boss/Iba/DOD etc. pedals you can't miss, if you use one with a +pin as V+ supply...you'd better be certain you know which cable is which, the orange/black ones reverse polarity.
totally set and forget once connected, except I use the variable V output trimpots on my FF and final booster.
Attaching it to a board...I ended up clamping it from the sides, there's probably a better way, done...solidly mounted.

Lifts all grounds, opens all ground loops, this approach works perfectly by keeping unwanted AC 'noise' from entering the signal path..ie..dead quiet operation on the power supply side.
If you use a battery with a pedal, you probably won't notice any difference, battery is also a floating supply [no connection to ground].
my final boost works great w/output 7 turned all the way up, gives a bit more headroom, output 8 adjusted to about half is where my Hybrid FF sounds best.
AC15, Tele, LP...lotsa pedals
Wah > FF > TS > Green Ringer > Mu Boost with TC > PH90
..er that's what I have so far, i have 3-4 spaces left on the PB I painted the smoke odor into, all the pedals got fried..I'm rebuilding.
I built a very similar PS, worked great too, not worth the trouble though, they got this thing figured out really nicely IMEO.

Yes, I have only one, I certainly am using it...lol.
...says short circuit protected.
Looks super sturdy, good as you can get, its got electronics in it, don't smash it around.
The HD IEC AC supply cable is a lot more 'substantial' than the 9v daisy chain cord I once used, having the AC plug/jack is bound to be less trouble than the wimbly daisy cord, which, if it shorts out can blow the wall wart. All the DC jacks are 'contained/hidden' from getting caught, the PB never looked neater.

PS noise? try breaking the ground loops.
If that doesn't work you've got a noisy something in the signal path...cable/guitar etc.
buy a batch of actual 9v batteries to see if floating power supplies cures your noise issues.
dropped my noise floor big time.
Supplies consistant Dc voltages, breaks ground loops.

I am not sure , it has some great features , it would be nice to have an 18 volt socket without having to use 2 of the 9 volts together like on the DC Brick , maybe you will need to use one or two of the sockets to power 2 or 3 pedals and is 100 milliamps enough per socket to do this ??? its not even enough to power the Boss DM 2 on its own !! .....??? my DUNLOP DC Brick powers the Boss DM2 up through the power socket ????

Very simple setup - but if you're powering pedals that don't require 9V PSA - READ THE MANUAL. Things like Boss ACA or Line 6 Modelling pedals need to be dealt with in a special way. That said, once you read the manual and learn how to set the PP2 properly, it's easy.
The manual is well written and explains most things well. It's not really a difficult device to understand, but it's a little more complicated than generic multi-power supplies.

My setup is as follows:
Epiphone Sheraton with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat single coils or 2004 Deluxe USA Tele with Kinman noiseless pickups > Ernie Ball Vol Pedal Jr > Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah Pedal > Boss DD5 > Boss RV3 > Boss OD3 > ProCo Rat II > Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde Red > Big Muff Pi US reissue > Line 6 DL4 > Boss TU2 > Fender '65 Twin Reverb Reissue.
I really enjoy the sounds and the tone I get from my rig, but I started to notice that there was just too much background hum - so i decided to do something about it.
As you can see, I use a fair number of pedals. I used to power the Rat, Big Muff and DL4 with their own separate, dedicated power supplies and the rest with a #30 Sound Lab Power Bank. I have my TU-2 set to 'mute' when it's activated and place it last in the chain so I can use it to cut my sound in a 'dead stop' way. I noticed that my amp didn't hum when the TU-2 was activated (therefore muting the input signal), but when the signal was coming through, there was a LOT of background hum.
I read about the causes of hum and one of the potential sources is power supply. So I did some research looking for a decent power supply that would minimise hum and I read about this. One of the things that convinced me to get the PP2 was in fact, Harmony Central reviews! So I took the plunge....
Seriously - simply swapping the Power Bank for the PP2 took away most (if not all) of the hum! i was very very pleasantly surprised and delighted that such a simple change cleaned up my sound and really let my tone shine through - it's astounding! Now I power the Big Muff with it's own dedicated supply, but ALL the other pedals are fed by the PP2, this has not only cleaned up my sound but also made space on my pedal board - nice. I was very happy to get rid of the wall-wart power supplies for the Rat and the DL4.
I tried the Sag function on my Rat and Jekyll & Hyde and it definitely changes the sounds produced - but i prefer the full 9V sound.

Been playing for about 12 years. I mostly play alternative/postrock/experimental type music. i love the guitar sounds of bands like mogwai, interpol, explosions in the sky, sigur ros... and I am very happy with the setup I have to produce these sounds. The only problem was the noise in my signal - this product has really made a huge difference and has removed the hum.
I always though "a power suplly is a power supply is a power supply" and thought that spending so much on one was a real waste of money - I WAS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! After spending so much time and money building up my rig, using a cheap power supply really was not doing the rest of my equipment justice. If you have a decent rig, you owe it to yourself to buy one of these.
I would definitely buy a new one if it's lost or stolen.
I compared this device to the cheap power supply I previously used and my bandmate owns the DC brick. The PP2 blows the cheap one away - no contest. The brick is good and my bandmate gets a good clean tone, but I haven't directly compared the brick and the PP2. I am very very happy with the PP2.
The only drawback about the PP2 is the sheer expense - it is very expensive when compared to the alternatives. But to me, good tone is priceless and this has improved my tone a very great deal so it's #149 well spent. If you can afford one, get it.
Basically, if you can afford to buy an expenisve guitar, expensive amp and expensive pedals - you REALLY need to buy a high quality power supply to make their true tone capabilities a reality.
In short, IF YOU OWN A HIGH QUALITY RIG, USE A MULTI-POWER SUPPLY AND HAVE A NOISY SIGNAL, BUY ONE OF THESE - IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!!

Plug in your pedals to the outlets and plug in the unit to the wall. Pretty simple. The only part you have to put a little thought into is whether you have the right plugs for your specific pedals (9V, 18V, mini-plug, etc). I had to order some extra plugs such as Y-Cables (to power two devices off of one outlet) and extensions. Any questions about this is easily answered in the users manual. Check out Stompin' Ground Pedal Boards or contact VooDoo Labs for extra cables.
