Absolutely simple.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
not sure yet.

Reliability : 9
Looks pretty solid. When my voodoo lab sparkle drive pedal's footswitch broke after several years, they replaced it immediately for free, and that's the only problem I've had with that one.

Customer Support : 10
This is why I'm writing this review. I run a little studio in Chicago, project-budget, all digital, and so obviously I spend a lot of time on the phone with customer service people. Try even getting through to MOTU, or finding a number MXL. Voodoo Labs picked up right away, and helpful from start to finish in getting me the eight new connectors I needed for this pedal power I bought on ebay. This worked out great; I got a pedal power for 40 on ebay, and then the connectors I need, shipped to me, for twenty bucks. Some companies could have made doing something like that REALLY difficult.

Overall Rating : 10
I also own a sparkle drive and have played extensively on other models--I would say that overall voodoo labs is a really great company...the none of their pedals are the absolute best sounding out there, but most of them do pretty much exactly what you'd want them to do almost as well as similar models from fulltone or wherever that cost twice as much. And compared to the a lot of bigger companies, the customer service is excellent. For those on a budget, Highly Recommended.

This is one of the first Pedal Power boxes made. I only no this as I recently sent it to Digital Music for service. It's a power supply-plug your pedals in and play. It's dead quiet and over-engineered to last a long time.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I really don't think setup is relevant here-it will work with anything except pedals requiring any voltage besides 9 volts. I gig with it regularly and it has never let me down.

Reliability : 10
Yes it's reliable-it's built like tank. It uses a high quality transformer that is tapped and filtered at each leg to ensure utmost quality. If for it to totally die, you'd have to do something truly stupid-maybe like taking the cover off and spilling beer on the energized circuit.

Customer Support : 10
This is where this unit truly shines. Mine had an output go bad after a gig where a power surge took place. I sent the unit to Digital Music (after calling and requesting an RA number)for repair. I spoke with Josh and he informed me my pedal was one of the first 250 made and it was 8 years old! I had bought it four years ago at a local dealer and apparently it was new old stock. Josh replaced the innards and returned the unit FREE OF CHARGE! Pretty amazing considering it was out of warranty. These guys are first class. Try that with Roland or some other musical merchandise giant. Very friendly service on an outstanding product. Josh-YOU DA MAN!!!!

Overall Rating : 10
It's a great box and it does it's required funtion. I would definately buy another. As a Engineering Tech employed by Lockheed Martin working to military specs I know what good workmanship looks like and you can see it in any Voodoo Labs product. I would consider these guys to be the Mesa Engineering of the effects comunity-not cheesy commerical crap but yet not boutique, just high quality electronics for the working musician.I've played guitar for 20+ years and I'm very happy with this product. It's not cheap but anything worth having isn't. Not to say there aren't affordable options that are good (Godlyke Powerall) but I don't they will withstand the rigors of the working musician like a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power.

Ease of Use : 8
Its super simple to use. Provided all your pedals run off 9 volts. They only send six standard barrel contectors, so I had to order two more.

Sound Quality : 5
Here is where I bitch a little. Not many people notice as I do, but when you cahnge your power source, the sound quality of your effects change as well. I added a Furman Power Conditioner to my rig and that made a world of difference for my effects. After I purchased the Pedal Power 2 and plugged everything in, I was experiencing change in effects quality. Not nessecarily a bad one, but the effects seemed to not be as defined and bright. THey seemed to be a little more weak. It was great, I got zero hum or line noise, but the change in sound really messed with me. Especially my Morley Power wah pedal. SO tone freaks beware this unit MIGHT mess with your effects a bit. I run a PRS into a Tu-2 tuner, a morley power wah, a cs-3 compressor, an oc-2 octave, a vox volume, a ns-2 noise suppressor, into a Dual Rectifier Tremoverb. THrough the effects loop in run a Rotosphere, Phase Shifter,Super Phaser, DD-5 Delay, CE-5 Chorus, and a Holy Grail Reverb.

Reliability : No Opinion
Voodoo Lab makes great products from what little I know.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I called Voodoo because I needed to extra barrel connectors. They sent them right out free of charge. Thats customer service!!!

Overall Rating : 7
Its a good power supply. Is very flexible for working with various kinds of pedals. Price is a bit to much for a power supply. I wish the outputs delivered 200ma instead of only 100ma. Would probably help my effects sound better if it did.

Fairly easy to use. The only problem anyone would have is insuring that you have the correct DC power connector for your effects and have the right voltage selected with the DIP switches. The manual is pretty straight forward in helping you set it up. Mine is the original Pedal Power. I give it a 9 for ease of use as I had no problems at all. I'll reserve the 10 scores for something that's completely idiot proof (God knows they're out there in abundance).

Sound Quality : 8
I'm using this on my pedal board as I'm sure almost everyone else is. It's powering my Boss Comp., EQ, Marshall ShredMaster, MXR Phase 90, Micro Amp, TubeScreamer TS9 and my Loooper ByPass Switch. Each output is isolated so there is no hum or noise. I never had any noise from my battery powered effects so I don't know how much of a difference this makes. I guess if it was the Pedal Power 2, it may effect the sound because the PP2 has the sag feature that emulates dying batteries. So that one possible mark against has been fixed but it is of no concern to me because if I wanted dying batteries, I wouldn't have bought this pedal. I'll give it an 8 because it's a quality product that doesn't have a bad effect on your sound, whereas a bad product can easily affect your sound in a negative way.

Reliability : 10
I have had no problems with this at all. I have had it for about 2 years now and purposely waited to give an honest review on it.

Customer Support : 10
Here is where they shine. I had a dilemma with powering my MXR pedals because they have the DC jack on the side, right next to the input jack and I like to use the Pedal Crank type connectors between my Boss and MXR pedals. Well with the straight barrel DC connectors, the Pedal Cranks wouldn't insert all the way. I had heard that they would make custom cables for you if you needed them, so I called Digital Music Corp. (Voodoo Labs parent company) and asked if they could make me some barrel connectors with right angle plugs instead of straight ones. They said it would be no problem and they would be $10 each, which, to me is a very fair price for anything custom made. But they also have the DC connectors that hook up to the battery jack (PedalPower ships with 1 of these), so I asked how much if I just got 2 of these. The guy said he'd send them out no charge. I was amazed. That is the kind of company I would go out of my way to do business with. I've never used any of their other pedals but I will definitely give them a look if anything happens to my current gear.

Overall Rating : 9
The Pedal Power has made my life so much easier by not have to replace batteries all time. They would always die at the worst times. You know how you forget to unplug the input jacks of your effects and it drains your batteries eventually? Not anymore. I custom built my own pedalboard and put the PedalPower under the 2nd level shelf and I can route all the wires away from my cables so there is no interference.

Totally awesome addition to any rig!!! I reccomend anyone with more than 3 pedals get one of these!

Sound Quality : 10
This unit is totally quiet. I'm running 5 pedals and it keeps the hum to it's absolute minimum. The SKB pedal board sucks dirty goat ass. I am now just using it for the velcro.

Reliability : 10
I can totally depend on this. I would gig without a backup and i'd feel totally safe.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
If it were stolen i'd surely get another one in a jiffy. I used the SKB pedalboard for awhile and that was a mistake. I'm using a custom pedal board built for me by Mike Pritchard (www.custompedalboard.com/index.html) and I am totally happy with my new rig, and it's all thanks to my new Voodoo Lab Pedal Power! awesome unit!!!

all of the features have been outlined below. it really couldn't be simpler to use. i really like the detachable AC cord and the extra outlet on the back...

Sound Quality : 10
no buzz, no hum, no sound except the sound of my effects. just what i wanted!

Reliability : 10
it seems extremely well-built and hasn't given me any problems so far. i always have a few 9V batteries with me at gigs just in case.

Customer Support : 10
i called the Voodoo Lab twice to order some extra cables. John was super friendly and professional on the phone. the replacement cables were a little expensive ($3.50 each + $3.50 S&H) but i got a great deal on the unit so i didn't really mind...

Overall Rating : 10
i don't often use more than 3 effects (and a tuner) on my pedalboard at any given time but i still think the Pedal Power was a very worthwhile purchase. i'd recommend buying one, even to someone who only uses a few effects like i do!

No brainer. You can even series wire two outputs to power an 18 volt wah.

Sound Quality : 10
Absolutely zero sound! That's what you're looking for. It's a quiet as battery power.

Reliability : 8
Seems well built. No backup, except some spare 9 volts, just in case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know, never had to contact them.

Been playing 30+ years, and do all sorts of covers. I have tons of gear, but that's not really related to this product. Bottom line, if you like and use pedals, get one of these. You'll groan over the cost for the first week, then never think about it again. It's the best piece of gear I've bought in a long time. No pedal noise, battery costs, or setup problems.

You plug it in. You plug in pedals.. How much easier can it get? I don't have anything that can't be powered by this unit.

Sound Quality : 10
Ok.. It seemed unfair to give this thing a "No opinion", but it hasn't in any way shape or form affected tone. The power supply has produced no noice of any kind in any of my pedals. What more could you ask for? Nothing in my chain has ever reacted in a negative way to this device.

Reliability : 10
I've had mine for 6 months now and have gigged with it. No problems. I love this unit as I always found replacing batteries annoying. They (batteries) always die in the middle of a gig at at the wrong time. This power supply has given me one less thing to worry about. I do carry batteries in case it dies during a gig, but I don't worry about that happening

Customer Support : 10
I purchased backup cables (Ok, I back up everything, experience has taught me to do that) from their customer support people. No problems there. The unit hasn't acted in any way requiring me talking with their customer support .

Overall Rating : 10
I would buy another of these in an instant if it were lost or stolen. I probably will buy another as a backup, but I'm so not worried about the unit it is not high on my list of things to worry about. To me, that is as high a compliment as I can give.

This is an intelligently-built piece of equipment that while it produces no sound of its own, it helps me get better sounds out of my equipment by 1) eliminating hum 2) providing a reliable source of power--it hasn't failed me in over a year.

I like the way that the power cord is NOT built in, allowing me to pack the Pedal Power in a bag or box with no risk of the cord connection being damaged. The cord is the same type used for most computers and if lost or damaged, can be replaced for a few bucks.

The "courtesy outlet" on the Pedal Power is a plus, allowing me to plug in a non-9v effect such as a Digitech Whammy. The DIP switches allowing to switch to a Boss PSA-type adapter are another plus.

Sound Quality : 10
Like I said, the Pedal Power helps me make better sounds.

Reliability : 10
I have relied on my Pedal Power for over a year now. I build a pedal board from parts I got at Home Depot and I've got the Pedal Power velcro'd to it. It has yet to crap out in any way. The many provided adapters are of good quality. I have an old MXR Dyna Comp that I can't do without; I drilled a groove in the casing of it and am using the 9v battery adapter that came with the pedal power to replace a battery.

Customer Support : 10
Excellent support. This is a company that cares.

Overall Rating : 10
The Pedal Power is a great match for anyone who uses a lot of pedals that require 9v and use either the Boss barrell-type, 1/8", or battery adapters. It's a compact, reliable, quite unit that I would hate to do without, considering all the pedals I use.

Excellent design and layout. From the removable IEC plug to the extra male and female pedal jacks included in the box. Everything you need is there and ready to plug in.

Sound Quality : 10
Totally silent, which is as it should be. Provides excellent, quiet, power too all devices. Voodoo labs did their homework when they designed this thing!

Reliability : 10
Looks like it could be used to block the rear tires of your car on a hill. The thing is tiny but HEAVY. Must be the flat torroid transformer in it. Never had a problem with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to call.

Overall Rating : 10
I can't remember what I paid for this thing, but I know it was a LOT. I got it at guitar center when I returned some stuff and looked around to see what they had around the same price. I saw the Pedal Power and it looked nice. When the sales guy told me the price, I almost puked. But after using it for a few months, I almost think that the price is too cheap. It is THAT good! Way to go Voodoo Labs!!!
