Ease of Use : 10
Simple plug in and play device, no settings, no complications. 4 loop positions and one insert position before loop 4 that is not switchable. This unit is a muct have and I am about to get another one to properly isolate my loop chain effects.
This unit used with quality short cables adds a complete bypass to any effect when the loop is off. It is quite remarkable and I never realized the loading and buffering problems I was having with my board. This gave me back a cord into the amp sound and each effect when in use is not a problem but when off they are out of the signal path completely. I even isolate some effects that are supposed to be true bypass like the Fulltone OCD, it sounds better through this bypass switcher. The only effect I have found that seems to be so true bypass as not to gum the signal is the Vai Wah which I find to be just the best wah for me. The Vox, now there's a tone sucker. You can put any effect like that in this isolator loop and when it's off, it's out of the chain like it's not pluged it, really fantastic!

Sound Quality : 10
Removes all loading effects and "tone suck" from your chain. I run a lot of effects because I like the versility of tones and abilities. I am an old school Trower effect player who taught me how to use the effect to create the sounds not merely play as if it were not a part of the instrument. You need to use the effects as a whole and work with them not play against them. This unit is a great unknown in the field apparently. Buy one, but two, any combination can be used and you can control massive preset patches using the Voodoo Commander Pedal if you like. The sound is crystal clear restoring my initial power push to the signal as guitar to amp. The effect alters the tone when it's on and when off it's like it's not there at all. This is a must have for a real professional designed board rig. I run three different distortions, wah, vibe, chorus and delay and they are all isolated. This unit fixed my clean tone problem and gave me back the straight amp drive. A miracle tool, well worth the $200 for it.

Reliability : 10
Voodoo Lab for my money makes very quality units. These are silent no pop, no click switches with LED's for loop on off. Very well designed and functional.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never contacted them never had a fail.

Overall Rating : 10
***** I do not know why more players are not using this unit to restore their signal maybe it's a lack of true effect know-how or maybe they ar enot using but one or two boxes. all this crap you hear about good pedals killing tone is because their chains have too much loading on them. This unit fixes all that. I just love it, I am getting a second one to fully isolate my loop effect line. I run a lot of effects but each of them are hard felt picks and great boxes for my style and need to find just about any sort or tone for my moods.
I run bascially a Carvin custom rig with my designed mohogany maple Les Paul type humbucker DC400 and my new DC135 strat build with rail humbuckwr single coils (Carvin is the best, have one built for you with your woods and pickups you will never change). I run a ToneBone slant board powered by the BBE Supercharger (best power brick no noise issues). Amp in line is Vai Wah into the Switcher input: Loop 1 Digitech Synth-Wah: Loop 2 Keeley Modifed DS-1, Loop 3 Keeley Modified Metal Zone: Insert line in (no loop) Boss Loop Station (will not work on a loop or amp loop, the insert is the way to add in more effects, it's the only way the loop station will work, many times I removed when I am not in the mood to mess with it): Loop 4 is the mighty Fulltone OCD (it's sounds better if that were possible on the by-pass switcher, I also run this pedal at 12V, seems to sound better than 9 or 16.) That is amp in. Amp Loop 1 on my Carvin V3 tube head with 4x12 (just the best amp ever!): new Boss DD-20 Delay, Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe, and Digitech Chorus Factory. As I said I plan to get another switcher to isolate my loop effects as well. It's a lot of short cables to do all that but I run only 1 ft gold connectors and clean everything up on my mounting board. The Tone bone slant board is really fine, it has the room I need and the ability to put cables over and through anywhere. My amp channel and amp boost foot switches are at the front of the board and the Voodoo lab sits on the front edge using a straight end to a right angle to the effects for a straighter tighter hook up. I can run 9 effects without loading problems and signal loss. It's just great!!!
