Pretty easy to use, as far as trems go. But then most trems are pretty easy to use.

Sounds okay, I guess. I don't know if I got a defective one, but the slope did nothing. I couldn't get a smooth trem out of it, very choppy. It's not noisey, there's plenty of boost and it seems well made, but it just didn't sound all that great. I really wanted to like it too...

I play indie, surf inspired, music. I've been playing a long time and I rely on trems for a lot of my sound. I've been through the boss trem - too much of a volume cut - the wiggler - nice sound but waaaay too big - the george dennis trem - very nice actually but weird footswitch - and the pulsar - very cool sounding, but again waaay too big for my pedal board, as are all electro harmonix pedals darnnit - I'm getting a supa-trem and will be done with it. Darn I really wanted to like this pedal, but it just didn't cut it. sorry

This is the older two knob version...simple...two knobs!internlly there is a trim pot and a jumper switch. Trim pot seems to effect thee amount of intesity...at least it sounds that way when I adjust it...perhaps it works in the same fasion as the slope??? The jumper switch is easily missed...it sits next to the trim pot and its labeled " swell or pulse" Huge diff when you make the change!

Ok..I was real close to giving a so so review until I read the last post! Thanks!!! I missed the jumper...then read Dans review(first one). changed the setting and found a real nice Black Face trem as represented! When I first got the unit I was disappointed and ready to ebay it away...so glad I found that little jumper! It went from lack luster to good stuff with a shimmer in a hurry. Before I switched the jumper it was more of a dull throb...it did have a cool warble somewhat univibish...but not the trem sound I had hoped for. I have a 66 BF bandmaster that I disconnected the tremolo and added a different value resister...kind of a pentode type mod that gives the channel a bit more sparkle...of course the loss of trem needed to be replaced some how. Now that pedal is doing the BF thing!!! Also...before the switch change...there was an obvious volume loss when the intensity was adjusted to where I wanted it...the switch change solved that problem as well!
True bypass...quiet! And when the intensity is turn way down...great clean boost!!! total agree with the last reviewer!

This pedal is pretty simple. 4 knobs...all of which have a pretty good control over the sound. It is nice to have the volume knob which makes the tremolo more versatile (able to boost or reduce the volume when the pedal is engaged). Very easy to find usable sounds with it.

This pedal sounds great. I'm running a PRS into a Peavey JSX head. The tremolo is in the effects loop with all the other goodies. I don't find this pedal to be noisy at all. It works well with the amp and sounds great. It will do rapid tremolo or a slow throbbing. It can also be very deep or shallow depending on what you need. You drop a decent amount of cash for this thing but if tremolo is your thing then it is worth it.

This pedal is great if tremolo is your thing. I use it sometimes...so if it were lost or stolen I would first need to decide whether I really needed a tremolo or not. I think it does it's job well and is worth the money for those who use tremolo frequently.

Gibson Les Paul, ESP Vintage Strat, Ibanez Destroyer REissue into Marshall DSL 401. (Also MXR M-134 Analog chorus)
In the past I never gave 10's ...because there is always better or room for improvements. This is pretty darn close. True bypass, easy to work, awesome sound. MOST IMPORTANTE: Does not jack with my tone on or off. The Voodoo Lab Microvibe jacked my tone up ...made it really thin and high endy. The VL Tremolo is sweet. Tone all the way thru ...huge speed variable ...from ultra slow to helicopter chops. My friends really like it (non musicians) ...asking me to always turn it on with or without distortion!!! Noise free!!! Awesome!!! Sounds incredible clean or dirty, looks cool ...and includes jumper switch inside ...not in manual or website but gives you the option of rounder tremolo or squarer tremolo (best way to describe it). 10!

Had it for a month! Seems reliable, would gig without backup cause I don't have one ...and with true bypass i could keep on playing if it died on stage. No problems yet ...so 10!

Play Rock, heavy metal, classic rock, blues, 70's pop. Great match!
Been playing 21 years, been thru alot of effects pedals and racks. Was there in the begining with analog, then thru the digital craze, and now back to analog! Whew!!! Checked out all the poplular tremolo's out there ...this one won hands down ...no contest ...I would give this price/quality/value a 10! Nearest competitor (fulltone) a 9!.
Sounds awesome if your a analog or digital freak. Really, really pleased with not only the "effect" of the tremolo, but also how my tone remains unchanged ...very earthy, very real, very awesome pedal. Also a huge variance in speed is great ...can go from vibe like slow lull pedal to full out chopper command. Really cool Voodoo Labs!!! Also don't forget the hidden jumper inside! Thanks to Dan ..the very first reviewer of this pedal!!!

How easy is it to get a good sound out of it?
-Very Easy. There are 4 controls that allow me to get whatever sounds that I need for any situation.

What setup are you using this with?
Les Paul Standards, Fender Strats and various hollowbody guitars into 2 Aphex parametric Eq's, Budda Wah, Vintage Rat, Cusack Screamer, Fulldrive 2, VooDoo Tremelo, VooDoo Vibrato and Alesis MidiVerb(effects loop of amp) into a Line 6 DuoVerb.
There is not a problem with noise. Very quiet.
I am very fond of the analog warmth that VD tremelo adds to my overall sound. True bypass lends to a great signal.

This pedal allows me to convey the message that I want to get across to the audience, big or small. Great products!

This pedal is warm like analog! What else can say? I can conjure up any sound and all of the sounds that this unit is capable of are just great! I have a EH Pulsar and a Fulltone Supa-Trem and this one is my favorite at the moment. It just has a warm quality that others do not. Great job VooDoo Labs!

At this time it would be hard to gauge the overall reliablity. Too early in the game to tell. The unit seems durable. However, only time will tell. Since I do not have 2 of these at the present time, I will be using it without a back up. However, I will usually bring along my Supa-Trem just in case something haywire.

My style of music could be describe as progessive with a little country and jazz thrown in for good measure. This unit fits in nicely for the style that I play. Tremelo is a great effect to have on the pedalboard.
I have been playing for 28 years and just love everything about the guitar.
The amount of gear that I have accumulated over the years is just too vast to list. I have too much!
I love the warmth that this unit adds to my sound. Very organic!
The sounds that this unit is capable of producing does lend a creative edge to my playing. When the sound is the player is happy and the end result is usually good.

Achieving different speeds/sounds/settings etc, requires bending down & fiddling, otherwise, very easy to use and it's very hard to find a bad sound. I would love if the ins & outs & power supplies were located at the top of ALL pedals the way they are on this one.

Telecaster + es335TD -> BBE optical comp -> Voodoo tremelo -> Vox AC30tb w/ blues. Absoloutly beautiful, warm sounds on all settings. almost every speed & intensity level you could/should ever need. I can't imagine a better sounding tremolo & have tried most, including those in pricier amps i've owned.

This pedal is very easy to use. All of the knobs' functions are very straightforward, and they all do what they're supposed to. You can dial in the type of effect you want the first time you plug it in.

I for one have not used very many other tremolo units, but I really enjoy this pedal. It sounds great to me. You can get very natural "round" waves or very harsh "sharp" waves that can both sound good depending on what you're playing. The speed range is very wide, painfully slow to headache fast, which is nice. I played with a reissue Fender Twin's tremolo at a shop just to see how the pedal compared and I think it measures up fairly well. My only complaint would be that the intensity really doesnt seem to kick in until the knob is at about 9 or 10 o'clock, but this isn't too much of a problem, it'd just be nice if the intensity kicked in earlier. Other than that, it's fantastic. It doesn't suck any tone and is not noisey at all; just a great, clear sounding tremelo.

I would depend on this pedal. I've used it on gigs without a backup, and it's never given me any problems(one of the few as a matter of fact). I LOVE the construction of the pedal; it's very sturdy, nice brushed metal casing, inputs are tight, the knobs feel great, everything is just very solid. The battery compartment is only accessible via screwing the bottom off which might turn off some, but I actually like it because you know that it won't break/fall off anytime soon, and if you power it with a power supply, then you don't even need to worry about it. The bottom also is covered with a felt/foam rubber pad-thing that is great for keeping the pedal's traction on hard and slippery surfaces. The quality of the construction of this pedal is probably it's best feature.

I play all sorts of stuff, classic rock, alternative rock, soul, funk, jazz, country, trip-hop/electronica, (anything that I feel like playing I guess) and this pedal works great for everything. My effects lineup changes almost constantly, and at first I wasn't sure how valuable an addition it would be, but it slowly has become one of the few permanent fixtures in my rig. Currently I'm playing my customized gibson paul II(the only constant) through a proco classic rat, to a vox wah, to the tremelo, to a line6 delay modeler, then to a marshall 50W plexi combo amp(a bit of an odd find, and currently the only working amp I own). With this fairly simple setup I can a wide variety of sounds, from earthy Jimi Hendrix type stuff, to very experimental Radiohead stuff(the tremelo intro to Big Boots? done and done), and I can always get some interesting sounds of my own. I don't necessarily use the Voodoo Lab tremolo a lot, but it's perfect when I need it. If it were lost I would get another one as soon as possible. I think it's a great pedal.

This one nails the blackface Fender trem sound very well and more versatile than the Guyatone VT3 (also a good pedal). Seems very well built, has true bypass switching, and can also double as a gain boost if you turn the intensity down. With this said, it does not sound as good as a Brown Fender onboard tube trem, but what does? This is the best sounding pedal I've tried and sounds as good as the blackface Fender trem.

The best and most versatile trem pedal I've tried. Has a volume control that can double as a gain boost and true bypass switching. Great tone, though not as good as a brown Fender (but just as good as a blackface Fender).

In my eyes it is very easy to get a good sound out of it. even if you don't want tremolo sounds, you can use it to push your sound a little bit, when turning the intensity down. i didn't need any manual to use it... plug and play. the slope-knob is a little tricky to use, but i like those things about effects. it brings the sound to front or more in the background. i think there is nothing to say about the other buttons.

wow. i am fascinated. a truly fine warm sound. as i said, it doesn't only put tremolo to your sound, it even pushes it a little bit. everything is possible: extreme tremolo sounds (f.e. greenday), warm tremolo sounds (nancy sinatra) or just a very careful touch of tremolo which is not really noticeable but gives the sound analogue character. i love it und i must force myself not to use it in every song!!! i use an fender hotrod, fender guitar and some other effects. this one is my favourite at the moment. noise is ok... no problems.

one setup for a great analog sound: intensity 9-10 o'clock, slope (1 o'clock), speed (2 o'clock), volume 9-10 o'clock
