Fairly easy to use and the volume knob is a great bonus. Just reach down and twist the knobs to get what you need.

Not bad, but definitely not great. If you're using a boss trem then this might knock your socks off, but if you've tried the fulltone then you won't want anything to do with this. It's worth the extra money for the fulltone when it only costs $50 more and the resale is better in case you don't plan on taking it to the grave with you. I think the Electro Harmonix Pulsar reissue sounds more organic than this.

These pedals are not that dependable. If you're a gigging musician or just don't want an unpredictable pedal then don't buy this. I know so many people who have problems with these pedals. They draw us in by saying they are hand made and true bypass which I hope they are, but the switches are junk and the jacks are crappy too.

I haven't heard anything good about these guys. They don't like to cover things that anyone should cover. These pedals cost too much for the poor service they "offer".

If you're trying to save a few bucks then buy the Electro Harmonix Pulsar ($99) or the Boss one. If you want something more work a few hours of overtime and invest in the fulltone or something better if possible. I wouldn't recommend this pedal to anyone because it's overpriced.

I am only writing to answer what I consider to be the constant tirade of Harmony Central reviewers who bash every piece of equipment they ever purchase. As they say, tone is in the hands and effects only Affect what is being played! Get it? The VL trem is one fantastic piece at a fair price. Sure, the speed control is sensitive and yeah, the intensity control is finicky, but once you get it dialed in, I think this pedal just puts a gorgeous shimmer on my clean sound needs. Half the problem is everyone wants to edit a patch and don't understand how pedals work in a chain.

Absolutely gorgeous if you know how to use it...the volume control is a great feature, allowing you to boost this when it's toward the end of the chain. I also have to say that great pedals sound great with great guitars and tube amps. The full-tone is a great pedal too, by the way, but at a substantial price differential....Boss? tried all of them and have only ever kept their tu-2 tuner, their BEST pedal by far. The DD-3 is really good too for a digital delay....

The only time I ever contacted VL was for some info on a MicroVibe and their engineer contacted me the same day. I didn't keep that one, but only because it wasn't the sound i needed.....

I play semi- professionally, using only a Fender am> deluxe strat 50th anniversary, a Les Paul Custom or a Gibson 335. I am fortune that I can afford to play whatever gear I want. My board has only pro-gear and I play Fender and Mesa tube amps. This VL Trem is a keeper....

This is a follow up on my past review. I take it back. This pedal blows. I get this surge of loud thump when you engage or disengage. This thing sucks primarily because it is DOES NOT BLEND WITH YOUR TONE WHAT SO EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have offically taking the thing off my board. I thought about selling it, but I don't want to burden someone else with it. I may just gut it for parts. SO HERES A BIG WTF? TO YOU VOODOO LABS!! Don't waste your time or money.

The main thing with this thing is that it's great with a clean tone but doesn't do anything for the high gain distortion. This pedal would be great for the someone who played country or folk music. It's pretty close to the old blackface fender tremelo effect. Oh yea and watch your volume knob when your not playing, cause it'll keep going if your pickups are noisy or hot.

No I don't depend on it. I have a slight problem with mine. I think I have a bad switch. It shouldn't be hard to replace though. One of the poles works half the time. If you wanted the ultimate tremelo it would be the supa-trem that fulltone makes. It's tuff with a tuff price.

im using a recent american series strat, stock, thru a traynor ycv40 amp with upgraded tubes, this pedal is silent, effects are as strong or weak as you like, and with the slope control you can really go from vintage to modern ie lots of mids with a turn of the dial, surfs up!or put that final touch to a song smoothly

im a home player who plays loud but doesnt abuse gear so i think ill be ok but someone who gigs or likes to jump around may do some damage,it feels like the main switch is a little delicate and the knobs may not like a size 9 shoe on them, take a spare

as a boomer who is a permanent amatuer,40 years playing,30 using g c and d chords,i do have tastes that run to tube amps and strats now.I have used almost all gibson offers,as well as an array of strats and lots of accoustics, and fender, silvertone, vox, and other amps with and without tremolo.currently my 2003 am. ser. strat and traynor amp are made complete with this pedal.I want to mention that when I play somewhat quietly my amp, like all others, loses some fullness, with this pedal on,first 3 knobs at 0,you can really add some tone to your amp by adding volume thru the pedal, this is a great pre amp application and adds real sparkle on an amps lower settings, worth buying for this alone!Real nice tone on all settings, again this thing sounds GREAT

The four controls work very easy. The volume control is a real winner that set it apart from other pedals. Only drawback is that the knobs are very close together and the speed-control is only useful between 2 and 4 o'clock. It's way too sensitive! The latter should be very simple to change, so why does VL not do this? In the ease of use the VL loses from e.g. Boss, but it makes up for this in sound quality (+ the volume control!)

Sound quality is great! I A-B'ed this pedal against the Boss tremolo and the decision was made within 5 seconds (in the advantage of the VL). It sounds much wearmer and less processed. The major advantage is the volume control that takes away the apparent drop in volume when the pedal is engaged.

So far (after 3 months of using and a bunch of gigs) it stays together. It doesn't look as sturdy as a Boss, but I think it will last.

My setup is as follows: American tele > Boss TU2 > Crybaby > Phase 90 > Overdive pedal (always changing) > VL tremolo > Boss RV3 > Koch Twintone 50W tube amp. I mainly play ska music mixed with a lot of other styles (pop, surf, punk, stoner, whatever comes to our minds). Been playing for about 10 years, currently doing about 1 gig a week with my band. This is my first tremolo pedal. I use it mainly to create a traditional surf-sound on the clean channel (which ist does very, very well), but it is certainly not used in every song. It has all the sound I want, just wish it had a better speed-control....

Pretty easy to operate. The usual tremolo contros (speed & intensity) but with volume and slope. The slope control changes the shape of the waveform and the volume gives a slight boost or drop to help keep your volume consistent when switching on/off. The volume control is the main reason I bought the Voodoo Lab tremolo. No manual included but a single sheet of paper that gets you started ok.

I use a tele and a LP Jr. into a Ross compressor, Orange Squeezer comp., VL Tremolo, Visual Sound H2O into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. This pedal is as quiet as you would expect a tremolo to be.

Tremolo is something I don't use real often, but it's a good flavor to throw in on certain songs. I'm into country, rock, alt-country, etc. and I just wanted one for inspiration or whatever. I wanted a traditional Fender tremolo sound in a pedal and this was best in the features-to-price categories. The T-Rex Tremster was tempting, but as someone who uses the effect so sparingly, the cost just didn't make sense for me.

its ok ..the volume and intensity knobs make it easy to adjust your levels. Has a decent tremolo BUT the speed is way too sensitive...i had to ajust within a few milimeters to get the speed i wanted. Either too fast or slow otherwise.

This is the reason I'm taking the time to write this. This thing is made VERY shoddily. Guys and gals looking for a tremelo pedal...if you gig DONT BUY IT. Within a couple weeks of being in my pedal case, which is a good case that protects all my stuff well.. the knobs started falling off. Its really cheap plasticy construction. Within a few months, I've had to take it out and throw it in the trash. It doesnt work now. I've not abused it at all. Its NOT well made. NOT roadworthy. I payed $85 for it which is not cheap for a pedal like this and im extremely dissapointed at this poorly constructed unit.

This pedal sounds real warm, I wanted to get that fender amp tremolo sound and tried a bunch of pedals, this is the only one that actually didn't sound flat to me. I put it into a modded JCM 800 or an Egnater tone of Life....either use an anderson cobra or PRS McCarty sounds great on the clean channel not a fan of tremolo on distorion unless its low-gain I think its the best tremolo I have played yet very natural amp like tone not proccessed sounding
