Voodoo Lab Tremolo

This is an easy unit to find good sounds with. I have the 4-knob version and it just take about 5 minutes of tewaking to find a suitable tone.

I cannot give it a 10 because I dont believe that anything is absolutely perfect. This pedal does have incredible tone however. True bypass is a good thing too. Can go from agonizingly slow to a very stacatto throb or chop sound and covers all in between very nicely. I use this with my Music Man 65 watt head, I like this trem better than the onboard one. This pedal also has a "hidden" feature: if you leave all the knobs at zero effect and the volume at max, you can attain a good clean boost in your signal. Zero added noise when unit is on.

This thing is a freakin tank. I would use it as a bludgeon if I had to.

I play rockabilly and surf guitar. This nails all the classic Fender and Vox tremolo sounds perfectly. I would beat the person who tried to jack this pedal from me, I love it, but would probably buy a Guyatone Tube trem if it was actually stolen. I just wish that this pedal had stereo output. I put this one against the Boss, Fulltone and Prescription Electronics tremolos and to me, this was the one.

Very straight forward to use. The new four knob version gives you terrific control with very little effert.

I play jazz, swing, and jump blues on a Schecter Jazz-7 7 string with the low string tuned to an A. I use this pedal full time and run straight from the pedal to a small PA or recording console. It gives me the kind of warmth that I associate with vintage Fender amps without any of the hassle. I've used it in the studio going straight to the board and you would swear that the signal was going through some tubes at some point. The pedal is almost perfectly quiet and using my own rig it does a great job of cleaning up the signal and getting rid of RF noise.

I haven't had it long enough to know, but so far it's been flawless.

I've never dealt with them first hand, but recent product changes would seem to indicate that they're listening to their customers.

I've been playing for almost 40 years. When I was a kid all the nice amps came with reverb and tremolo and I've been trying to get back to that sound for years. I've tried a lot of different options but nothing was ever able to give me the sound quality in a reliable and convenient package. The Voodoo Labs pedal comes closer to that vintage amp sound than anything I've ever tried. I recommend it without reservation. It's more epensive than similar pedals from the competition, including a fairly nice pedal from Boss, but it's well worth the extra expense.

Awsome Trem. Best I've ever heard. Sounds warm and juicy. Just beutiful through My DC-30 and does very well with my Fender Twin amp too. I have 2 guitars Gibson Les Paul STD and Fender STD Deluxe and both Guitars sound great throught this pedal.

Best Trem You will ever own. It costs more than some trems in the market but beleive me this thing is worh every penny! I've had and/or tried them all (Supa -Trem, Boss etc..) nothing compares to Voodoo Labs Trem. It just has a certain beuty that needs a listen to be understood. Definately try this pedal if you are in the market for a Trem. You won't be dissapointed.

Not difficult to use. Four knobs control all parameters of the tremolo sound.

When the pedal is working correctly, the tremolo effect is outstanding.

I have never heard of a Voodoo Lab pedal breaking down, but mine did. It began buzzing loudly one day, so I sent it to the company to have it fixed. They sent it back saying they couldn't find a problem, and it still buzzed. I am positive it was the pedal and nothing else in my setup that was causing the buzzing sound.

They are fast and friendly with emails and phone calls, but the fact that they couldn't/didn't fix my pedal gets them a lower rating than what would otherwise be a 10.

I don't have a defined style of music that I play--I like to make up my own sounds, and was enjoying the tremolo until it stopped working. I would recommend this pedal to anyone, since it is apparently very rare that one would have a problem like mine did. I got rid of the pedal and no longer use a tremolo.

this is a nice pedal.the slope and volume knobs are very helpful-you
can set it for a bit of a boost when you kick it on, or match the level.apparently,some other trem pedals get louder when you turn them
on with no way to adjust volume.it has a nice 'subliminal' setting
that can be left on all the time..i suppose a good amp trem will do
that as well.if it had a brown face bias-type tone i'd have it in the
board' permanently.

if there was trouble-unlike the guy from PE.i really can't rate for this until it's been around a while but there's nothing flimsy about it.

It's pretty easy to get a good sound from it.......you just have to play with it a little. The manual gives you a few setting for starting points but i didn't care for them too much.

I'm using this pedal with my current set-up of an Ibanez AS200, Fender Stratocaster Plus, or Fender Telecaster Plus Guitars through a chain of effects: Vox Wah-Wah (modified with true-bypass)> MXR Dynacomp > Visual Sounds Jeckll & Hyde Overdrive > Voodoo Labs Tremolo > Boss DD-3 Delay to a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 amp. Playing through this set-up the Voodoo Labs Tremolo Pedal is extremely quite, No Noise At All!!! I bought this to use with amps that did not have built-in Tremolo and it is prefect for this. A freind has a vox amp and fender amp both with Tremolo and this pedal sounds every bit as good as the amps that have already built-in.

Looks solid....never had any problems with any voodoo lab products yet. I would gig without a backup because you cannot bring a backup for everything with you. Housing is rock solid the only thing i can see breaking is the knobs or the foot switch.

I play several different types of music (rock, blues, jazz, country, roots rock, metal). It is just what i expected from a Tremolo pedal, it has a wide assortment of sound/types of trem vibes to it. Iwould buy another one if it was ever stolen or broken. If you like mild to wild tremolo sounds try one out....the proof is in the sound.

This is the 4 knob version, which I will highly recommend over the 2 knob version. Just having the slope adjustable on the fly is worth the extra money for the newer 4 knob. Otherwise, my only complaint is that they could have used a slightly bigger box or put the controls in a 2x2 configuration because it seems like when I go to change one knob, my fingers always move the other ones because they're so close together.

It was pretty much came down to the Voodoo Labs and the Fulltone Supa-Trem. Those were the ones that immediately rose to the top when I tried a bunch of trems out. In the end, I actually liked the sound of the Voodoo Labs slightly better. It felt a little more like the true soul of an old Fender trem whereas the Supa-Trem was slightly more "clinical" (or new) sounding. It was a *very* minor and subjective difference and both are great pedals, but the Fulltone was about $100 more than the Voodoo. After that, it was a no-brainer. The true bypass switching is a must have.

Seems pretty solid in a few months of use. I have pedals that I would grab before this one if I were to use it in a fight, but for guitar playing, its fine.

To me, this one seemed to sound the most (exactlly?) like a Fender. If you want that, this is the pedal! It really does sound teriffic. The ability to vary the slope is a real plus.

The only real complaint that I have is the speed knob. I can live with the fact that there are no markings around the sweep of the knobs, but it seems like the speed can get far too slow for any application that I can forsee. Seems like the slowest speed setting on a Fender Amp is equal to about this one at around 50%. It really does get ridiculously slow at the bottom. This makes the "usable" area of this knob much smaller and therefore, its kind of sensitive in that range. A little too sensitive. But that is minor, because its all about the sound, right?

This is the old two-knob (Speed and Intensity) model. Piece of cake to make it sound good -- it's very Fender-amplike. I got mine used, so no manual. But I wouldn't need one anyway.

I use this with a variety of single-coil guitars into a reissue Bassman and a Top Hat Club Royale. There's some minor hiss when engaged, less so when the batteries are fresh. When it's not engaged, it's dead quiet, thanks to true bypass switching. The knobs have a wide sweep. The speed goes from a vveeeerrryyyy slow throb to a machine-gun stutter. Intensity is anything from barely noticeable to a real on/off effect. In the middle, where I like it, is a smooth, useable trem.

Built solidly. The tiny light bulb inside is a potential weak point. But even if it fails, the true-bypass will allow you to keep playing without yanking it out of the signal chain.

I had some problems with a new Microvibe I once had, and Voodoo Lab fixed it promptly and cheerfully (twice, unfortunately, when the first fix didn't take of the problem). Nice folks.

I've played blues with some rock and pop-type stuff for the past six years. The trem is good for subtly enlivening rhythm parts. I've also got a wah, an overdrive and an analog delay at the moment. I got it for my non-trem amps, and it totally does the job. It's unobtrusive and totally competent and what it's intended to do.

Couldn't be simpler.

I've tried 'em all. Mostly side by side. The demeter is close, and to some ears better sounding. The vodoo has a nice clean sine wave trem, full of good tone, but no coloration. Fat sounding. The demeter by comparison, has more harmonic complexity, but its not transparant.
Its also way more money. My favorite trem is the three tube type in the brown fenders- Brown Pro, for example. Old trems get flakey however. For live work, the voodoo is convincing, solid, trouble free. It simply does what its supposed to do.

Most bomb proof box I have. I've had it for a while. Its been insulted by every imaginable thing a bar can do to a stomp box. Its a long list. And it has survived nicely. I did have to clean it after
someone dumped a large sweet drink onto the stagefront right into my pedalboard - but ... it didn't crap out, and several other boxes did right then and there - and others failed the next week after the sugar dried gummed up the switches. Seems to be able to handle power supply hell as well. Shorts, over voltages, sparks. It seems not to care. Physical abuse? Its been danced on many a time and what's really amazing is the Jacks have not failed. Dancing kills Jacks. I'm on my 4th tuner in the same time period (when will they get it?).

When I got it I had a lot of stupid questions for the guys at Voodoo. They treated me without the slightest hint of snobbery. Very nice.

I'm a 20 year vet. I've played most styles, produced records...and all that stuff. Its a good box. Thoughtful design. Doesn't take up too much real estate. Power jack in the center of the back where it won't get kicked out. Low profile. As I say, its possible to get more harmonic complexity in tube units, or even the demeter - but that's distortion and my gain structure is complicated enough without something in the chain producing a little unneeded distortion. You want trem? That's what it does.

This is the new edition of the Tremolo. There are now four knobs: Intensity, speed, slope, and voulme. There are lots of good sounds to be easily had from this pedal.

This is one of the best trem pedals I have used. There are other good ones like the colorsound tremolo, and the matchless vibrobox, but this pedal has the right price sound combination. This pedal leaves the BOSS TR-2 dead in the water. I really like the option to adjust the wave form from trangle to square with the slope knob.

So far, so good. It doubt that I will have any problems, the pedal seems quite sturdy.

This is a good trem pedal that I would strongly recommend. Try this one before you buy anything, and don't buy that boss pedal.
