Very easy to get usable sounds out of it - the wah operates in exactly the way you'd expect a wah to operate except there's no swicth in the toe position, the bypass switch is on a separate footswitch to the side. This is a huge improvement over the conventional design, I always hated the toe position bypass switch. the auto wah and step filter settings are equally cool and easy to use and you can also store your own sequences for the step filter very easily

I usually play G&L, Gibson, Jerry Jones guitars or several one-off custom builds through VHT/Fryette or Tone King amps.
I think all the sounds on it are fantastic, this is my favorite wah pedal by far.
I think the auto-wah and sequence filter are great sounding. There may be individual pedals for these effects I like slightly more, but they sound really, really good and the convenience of having them all on one pedal is probably going to mean this gets pulled out more often. There's lots of room for flexibility on these, so as I work with them more I have a feeling they're going to be pretty indispensable.

Well, it's brand new so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. It appears to be very solidly build, I have no problems trusting it so I don't bring a backup.

I've dealt with Voodoo Lab before regarding other products and always found them very helpful and easy to work with.

I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, over 25 professionally. I do sessions, touring and teach at GIT. I play many different styles of music. My first wah was a Morley I bought in 1975, and I've owned all the usual suspects since. This is my favorite, hands down. For me, the flexibility built into the design with the an up or down sweep on the auto wah, store custom step filter sequences, an internal adjustment to fine tune the treble end of the wah travel.
Plus - there's a jack for an external tap tempo or mode selection switch, which I haven't even got into using yet.
A really, really well thought out piece of gear, top to bottom, and it sounds great and feels solidly built. This one's a keeper, definitely.

Basically, I plugged my LP into it and plugged it into an amp and was immediately able to get great sounds. I never looked at the manual until I wanted to play with the Step-Wah feature. Additionally, the manufacturer has some nice videos on their site that illustrates the features quite nicely.
Overall, this was VERY easy to get up and running with. Battery included, you plug it in out of the box and you are jamming.

My setup is twofold. I play a 71 LP Custom and an 88 jap Strat. I use a PoD 2.0 with an old Peavy Backstage Plus in my office. The other amp I use is a Marshal JCM900 with a typical 4x12 cab.
My old wah pedal was a Crybaby as well as the wah on the Line6 floorboard. The Crybaby was very noisy and clunky - Admittedly, I have had it many years and it's just old and dead now. The Line6 was never an option since the sweet spot for the wah sweep on the pedal was a very small area in the middle of the pedal's travel. The Line6 pedal did not want to hold a position once you took your foot off of it either.
The WahZoo has a great vintage tone and it is QUIET. No hum, no buzzing. The pedal's action is beautiful - VERY expressive. The sweep of the wah effect spans the entire range of the pedal's movement and is very linear.
When I take my foot off of it, it holds the pedal exactly where I put it. Very nice. Very smooth.
The Autowah feature is REALLY slick. You can have it apply wah based on attack and adjust the attack threshold so you never have to touch the pedal and are still able to get great effects in your playing that are again, very expressive. Add to that the voicing of the autowah can be controlled by the pedal position as well.
The StepWah feature took me a little bit to get used to. But once I had it set up, I found a rich variety of tones that I could play with ranging from slow sweeps to psychotic tremelo effects and everything in between. The addition of a tap-tempo is just stellar.

Well, I have only had it for about a week but I did open it up (initially thinking I needed to put a battery in it) and the thing looks to be built like a tank. I would have no issue gigging with this with no backup and that is saying a lot for an effect that is so dependent on a mechanical interface.

While investigating getting a new wah pedal, I called Voodoo labs up to ask about some of the features of the pedal. I was on hold for less than a minute and they answered all of my questions and concerns. They were very friendly and informative. They also have a bunch of sound clips and videos in support of the product on the web site.
So, so far so good :)

My music ranges from R&B to classic rock - Think Marvin Gaye up through Enter the Sandman and most things in between. I have been playing for about 35 years and I own a variety of acoustic guitars and the two electric guitars mentioned previously. I am not a huge effects guy. As a general rule my mainstay is the LP, a patch chord and the Marshall.
If I lost the unit I would immediately replace it with the same unit. From what I can see, this product is unmatched by any of the other wah pedals out there.
My favorite feature would be a toss up between the classic wah effect and the autowah features. The TRUE bypass as a seperate switch is also a great feature so that I do not have to stomp on the wah pedal to get a bypass - Lots of times I want the pedal in a specific place and leave it there and jump back and forth with it in circuit and out again.
I did look at the Ernie Ball, Cry baby and Morely but the features, build quality and tone of this pedal just stood head and shoulders above those. While this pedal costs a bit more than a lot of others out there I really think it's a great value.

McCoy based sounds in a Wah that also does 'auto-wah' and 'step-wah' sounds. Regarding the "Wah" sounds- nice, easy to get good tone, thick and rich. Still figuring out the 'auto-wah' and 'step-wah' sounds. Auto wah is a little extreme with the amp I'm using- vox ac-15- but I'm not through with experimenting with pedal order, sensitivity setting (adjustable for auto-wah), etc. It also will do reverse wah effect when the pedal's all the way forward. Also, bypass switch is NOT enabled by pressing forward on pedal- I love this feature. Step Wah is cool- it's like the z-vex sequenced auto wah effect pedal. it cycles through either pre-set or programmable settings. you can have it go from heavy low tone to the high-frequency sound in steps. you can program it to do up to 30 (i think) steps per preset; it then repeats the cycle. Push forward on the pedal to increase the tempo of the cycle, push back to slow it down. Hard to explain- go to Voodoo Lab website to hear it. I messed around and found some amazing sounds. Pretty easy to figure out, but I think it will take some planning to really use it to it's potential.

As stated above, I just got it and haven't messed with it enough to find great tones with auto wah. I love the regular wah, and think the step wah will be incredible in the right settings. As it stands right now, i'll give it an 8. I don't know if the auto-wah can be made to sound more mu-tron-y; I hope it's more flexible than the first impression.

It seems built like a tank. The switches/knobs are solid, powers with a standard supply (boss style), and one thing i love about it- has little rubber detachable feet (glued on). Take them off, slap velcro on the bottom and it's attached to your pedalboard better than almost any other pedal (I covered the entire bottom of it- it's never coming off). I won't give it a 10 b/c I just got it, but no problems are evident.

Won't rate it since it's my first VL pedal.

It's cool- I'm not 100% on the auto wah. I love the step wah- I had a couple of very very fun moments with it. The regular wah is very nice, not thin or weak in any way. I can't wait to play it with the band. It sounded good with my TS9 Mod Plus pedal. If it had a level control and maybe one or two other tweakable variables it would be that much cooler. This is my first wah in many many years- I'm still getting used to it. Haven't fully decided on my final take on this thing. I'll update my review after using it for a month or three.
