Simple. Gain, Tone, Volume knobs......Where have we seen this format before??

Sound Quality : 10
WOW!! Yesterday I bought an Expandora. Today I bought the Vox. Tomorrow the Expandora goes back. I was not prepared for this. This pedal rivals my Klon Centaur and costs only a third as much. Big, fat, full tone with clarity and presence. Way cool.

Reliability : No Opinion
Got it today. So far I have only had to replace the battery. Based on how much I like this pedal, I will be replacing the battery a lot!!

Unknown.

I absolutely love it!! As good as my best TS-808, TS-9 and almost as good as the Klon. Get em before Vox figures out they are way underpriced!!

Three pots - Level, Gain & Tone and a stomp switch. Comes with a manual in 6 languages Has a 9V external jack connection.

Sound Quality : 10
I use this with a stock Strat(single coils)& a tube combo amp. As stated in another review: "A VOX Tube screamer" This can come very close to Ibenez TS9 sounds. IMHO the VOX is just a bit more transparent and a touch fatter. I kept a new re-issue TS9 for a weekend and A - B'ed it with the V810. IMO the TS9 was a bit smoother & SRV sounding (but thinner). The V810 seams able to do a close SRV thing but it also does an excellent blues growlin' crunch without sounding like a copy of SRV tone. I leave the Level setting at 10:30. The two tone control places I use are 3:30 & 5:00. Gain - I leave it around 10:30 but use it up to 4:00. This box is very quiet, I've had it around 5 months and I can't get a bad sound from it.

Reliability : 9
Solid box, DPDT-(true bypass) stomp switch. Clean fit & finish. I had to re-solder a connection on the DPDT switch that came loose around a month after I bought it.

Never tried.

This is an excellent blues / rock distortion box. I would buy it again. Nice FAT tone at all volume levels. Original, useable Gain range. If your after a blues distortion, give this box a listen.

Yet another three knob overdrive w/ gain, tone, & drive controls. All settings sound good.

Sound Quality : 9
This is basically a VOX Tubescreamer. You can do the light boost thing or turn up the distortion. While it doesn't maintain as much bass response as a TS-808 or Klon Centaur (it does do a little better than a reissue TS-9) it does maintain the sound of your guitar. The absolute coolest thing though is the fact that the distortion quality is like that of an overdriven VOX amp!-a rich hail of needles. At lower settings a tele and vibroverb can do a geat (sonic) impersonation of Robyn Hitchcock's guitar. The quality of the distortion is much richer than that of the more famous Ibanez overdrives.

Reliability : 10
It's built like an old VOX wha. That weird thick black metal and some chrome for good measure. Unfortunately you still gotta remove four screws on the bottom to change batteries. It has true bypass circuitry-so there's no signal loading-but it also has one o those old-fashioned "footswitch" switches-which means it'll POP when dusty-I sure wish they'da used a photo-optical switch.

Never had to call 'em-more than I can say of Danelectro.

Behaves like a Tubescreamer, sounds like a VOX amp! Seems very sturdy. I like the overall sonic response of a TS-808, but the sound quality of the distortion is SOOOOO COOOOOL!-i really don't know which to use. It's great for roots rock/blues and rockabilly or anything else one uses a tube screamer for. If ya like the VOX style distortion you can buy this and use it w/ yer own amp and spend that AC-30 money somewhere else.
