Ease of Use
:

Difficult to change the battery and it has to be plugged into the guitar directly like the old dan armstrong effects.
One you get it set up you've only got one knob to deal with.
Two effects in one. In one direction the treble is boosted in the other direction the bass is boosted.
Sound Quality

It's not pristine but it's got a ton of mojo.
The amount to tonal boost that can be achieved in either direction is very extreme. It is not a booster in the same sense that we now use that term.
It is like an EQ, but it is unlike any other EQ i have used.
The bass end is more interesting to me. It gets very swampy and vibey. it does increase your overall output at the far bass settings.
I believe these are "true bypass". When set to off they will pass the clean signal even with no battery connected.
Reliability
:

These are very hard to fix because you pretty much have to break it to get at the other side of the circuit board. They also have very filmsy wires running between the board and the housing that become detached easily when changing the battery.

This is for vintage freeks only! I would not call it an exceptional value if you pay $200 for one! mojo? priceless.
