Ease of Use : 10
The filter range allows you to be expressive. The "sweet spot" is never lost.

Sound Quality : 8
Very vintage. However, it will pickup certain radio transmissions. Lately, I've been picking up the PA of the local Catholic church. Wonder, if they can hear me too! Even though it sounds great right out of the box, if your a Hendrix fan you might be slightly dissappointed when you use it pre fuzz box--remember Roger Mayer modified Hendrixes wah by optimizing the filter range with regard to a Fuzz Face. I did this myself so now my vox sounds very Fillmore East. A good tech should know how to do this so give it a try.

Reliability : 10
The battery seems to run forever. The switch, unlike on CryBabys, never tricks you.

Overall Rating : 9
I would buy another one. But, I think optimizing the filter range really makes the pedal a thrill. Maybe, Vox will catch on in the future and do this at the factory. In any case, the thing really mates well with a Fuzz Face--new or vintage.

Just step on it and go

This is classic wah, the real deal. Low lows and high highs make for a big wah. It's also great to use to get vowel sounds in lead work. It's important note to put this the effects loop. For best results: guitar ( neck pick-up ), Wah, amp.

Reliability : 10
I've owned many Dunlop Crybabys. They sound almost as good but the jacks don't last too long. I've used the vox for a few years now for hundreds of gigs with no problems. And for some reasom batteries seem to last for ever in this thing.

Overall Rating : 10
If you're looking for that classic wah ala "Vodoo Chile" and "white Room" this is it. I'm sure I'll need another one sooner or later and I'll get this guy for sure

Wah-Wah's Are easy if you have a sense of rythm

Sound Quality : 8
Good, but the high end is way to high. You probably will have to turn up the bass on your amp

Reliability : 10
Hasn't broken

Overall Rating : 8
Sound quality is not exactly what expected. I guess I just need to work with it a little more I would probably play it before I buy next time.

Operation is straight forward. Pushing the pedal hard with your toe turns it on. Rocking back the pedal with your heel causes the tone to get cool, rocking forward causes the tone to be warm. It came with directions. For once, I didn't need them.

Sound Quality : 9
The pedal is quiet. I found it to have quite a broad range of tone colors. It got a little too bright for me at maximum warmth playing a strat. I could have compensated for it at the amp, if I desired. I ended up doing something else. It got even brighter when hooked in front of my Arbiter Fuzz Face, even on maximum cool setting. Must be some strange interaction because it sounds muddy, not bright when the fuzz face is turned off. So I took the pedal apart and backed off the potentiometer hooked to the pedal by one notch. This solved both the clean and fuzz over brightness.

Overall Rating : 8
When I opened the unit up, the pc board looked suspiciously like what used to be in my old old crybaby. On further inspection, just about the only difference I could detect was the use of high gain transistors (MPS-A18) instead of the medium gain (2N3904). Now, I don't know what is in the modern version of the crybaby and would be very interested if any one has had a peek in theirs. My suspicion is that the vox wah-wah and Dunlop crybaby are more similar than their $40 price difference suggests. Caveat Emptor! I suppose the chrome pedal accounts for something... Let's just leave it that I like the sound, especially in combination with the fuzz face.

It is very easy to use. All you do (as always) is rock it back and forth with your foot.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality is the best period. Never noisy and ALWAYS strong. I've tried the crybaby before getting this and instantly decided to get this one without any second thoughts. The dunlop SUCKS compared to this.

Reliability : 10
I'd rely on it with my life. And maybe, (since mine's vintage) I'd get a backup, but if it was new, no.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I'd buy it again if it was 200 dollars! I'll always love the unnoisy, beautiful wah it makes. It's just the best! It sounds EXACTLY like sweet dreams and bulls on parade. If you're looking for a wah, if you find one of these, no matter what the price, GET IT!!!!!!

Terribly simple to use. Just step on it and wail.

Sound Quality : 8
It definitely has problems with high gain. It loves to feedback on me with my tube screamer kicked in. To fix it, just cut back on your guitar volume a little jag. This one doesn't quite have that Eric Clapton Cream sound but it is certainly a top knotch wah.

Reliability : 9
Very dependable although the battery tends to get low very quick.

Customer Support : No Opinion
NEVER.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definitely buy it again. I hear that there is supposed to be a better wah out there called the Teese RM3 or something. It is supposed to be a real CLYDE. But I don't know.

Ease of Use : 10
As said before: just step on it.

Sound Quality : 8
It is amazing sound quality. Except the high end it way to trebly, but I find its all in the amp. Make sure your amp settings are around equal for treble and bass, and then you wont have a problem for the excessive bass and/or treble.

Reliability : 10
Yes, I've never had a problem. By the way it IS possible to use an AC!!!!! Get a universal adaptor at a Canadian Tire (Hardqare Store). Make sure it has a 9 vold connector on it though. Unscrew the rubber feet on the bottom of the VOX attach the 9 volt connector to where your battery is.... and your all set!

Customer Support : No Opinion
It never busted.

Overall Rating : 10
Yeah I'd buy it again. I like the wah mixed with a flange and metal zone.

Step on it.

Sound Quality : 9
Very nice, although to tell the truth, I have a hard time telling the difference between the Vox and my old Dunlop Crybaby. Draw your own conclusions...

Reliability : 6
After a short while, the two rubber grommets underneath the front of the rocker were gone. This made the wah to easy to turn off. I couldn't find the number for Vox, so I wrote to Dunlop and they sent me new grommets in under a week for $1.50.

Customer Support : 3
Couldn't find them, although the Dunlop people are great.

Overall Rating : 7
The only difference I can tell between the Vox and the Crybaby is the chrome top, and about $50. But I like that chrome top...If I could do it again, I'd probably get a Crybaby 535.

Just step on it(well press down ob the front) and it's up and running, same thing to turn it off.

Sound Quality : 7
It goes a little to far, the low end is to bassy, the high, well, makes your ears bleed.

Reliability : 10
The only thing is no AC outlet, I haven't replaced the battery in about a year.. maybe more tho...

Overall Rating : 9
For wah, it's perfect.. sortof.. well... Check out a morley or something first.. unless your into that classic sound.

This is a very simple tool to use. Just plug it in and it plays beautifully.

Sound Quality : 5
The sound on it is CLASSIC! This can be a down side as well though. "Classic" usually means NOISE and that is true here as well. The Vox is noisier than others I've heard, especially at the treble position. It also seems to add too much treble to the overall sound, so that when I turn it off, my amp sounds bassy.

Reliability : 9
Very dependable!!! Has never given me problems!

Overall Rating : 7
I would check out some of the newer Wahs first and get an overall picture before buying this. I really liked the chrome look to it (I'm so cheesy, I know) and that was one of the purchasing factors. I've heard the Dunlop 535 is REALLY COOL. With features like gain boost, 4 selectable frequency ranges, and also it comes in CHROME!!! The lack of AC power on the Vox is also a turn off. If you don't unplug your cords afterward, they drain juice from the battery. Overall though, it is a fine tool and will absolutely get the job done if it is the sound (and look) you're looking for!
