Simply the BEST WAH SOUND EVER AND the FIRST EVER TOO.But it does pickup stray radio signals when my guitar isnt plugged in.

This is a 70s pedal and I had to get the true bypass and a new Jim Dunlop pot installed. Very well built, cant see it failing soon.

I compared this pedal to the latest Satriani , Vox and Berringer (yuk) pedals and I'm glad I decided to repair my one instead of buying new. I've got Jimi's sound!! Refit cost $100 worth every cent.

Ive only had it for a night but its simple, push down for on/off and wah away.

I use a Fender Roadhouse Strat into a nyc reissue muff into the wah into a slightl distorted sd-1 into a modded sd-1. That goes into a crate V18.

Is sounds great on the muff, perfect jimi tone, Frushtiane tone
dont use before fuzzes and some distortions, it loses its sweep. After a fuzz gets alot of sweep. Thats how Jimi set his up.

Its perfect for me because i play blues- rock
not great for huge sweeps, but its made for 60's rock, it does that great

Very easy to use(it's a friggin wah pedal).

I run this directly into a Marshall AVT20 with my LP standard. It sounds perfect clean, with great wah clarity, but as said above, when overdriven, sounds weak and unsatisfying. I also noticed noise in the circuit, which I know the pedal is causing. When you work the pedal without playing, it makes a scratching sound.

I've only owned it a year, but it works like the day I bought it.

I play very different syles, anywhere between blues and metal. As you make that blues to rock to metal transition with this pedal, the sound goes from awesome to just ok. If you're a blues man, there's no better pedal out there. If you like shredding or want a good all-around/versatile pedal, try something else.

Easy to get a nice wah tone, although I wish the pedal had a greater range of movement.

Haven't compared with other wahs, but it sounds good to my ears - for the most part. One thing that bothers me-when I press down on the pedal all the way, I'm picking up a local radio station frequency. So yes, it is noisy, but I didn't expect this. It may be the fact that I live in midtown Atlanta, which has a large number of radio/television stations. I hear the radio station even though my rig (7 pedals) uses Monster Cables, which are considered to be top of the line.

Hasn't broken down yet, and I've had it for a few years.

The Vox wah has a great tone, I'm using it with a Fender Twin Reverb amp and it sounds great. But it is noisy when you press down. If you have a knowledge of electronics and know how to make this unit noise-free, please let me know - Email barbarino_atl@yahoo.com

Some resistance during turn-on and turn-off. Frustrating that sometimes I have to really stomp on it. It works though.

The sound is the best, without a doubt...when it works. I'm on my second Vox because they keep breaking, but I'll get to that momentarily. When it doesn't work, it crackles, zaps, squeals like a pig, and generally freaks out. Plug it in backwards and you can sound like that screaming Echoes spot on Meddle by Pink Floyd.

No I cannot depend on this thing. This is my second one, and I only bought it for the sound. I must be really hard on my wahs, because the input jacks continuously buzz and spit harshness out of my rig. But, it's not as bad as it sounds. I took a socket to the input and output nuts and torqued them rather snuggly. It seems to have done the trick, but this thing has buzzed and screamed too many times for me to be confident when it comes time to plug it in. I open it up and look at the soldering, and that seems to be unbroken. There doesn't seem to be a whole hell of a lot to this thing, so I must be consoled that it was loose jacks. We'll see. I checked out the Tech 21 for a back-up. It sounds nice, but having read the reviews, it seems that there really aren't any rock-solid wahs out there. This one is supposed to be, but this second one is fucking up similarly to the first, which is horribly distorted and growls like a dying cat.

Never dealt with as warranty always seems expired when they crap out on me.

Overall, when it works, it sounds as it should: you can warble it quickly for that sound with ease as the resistance is not great. You can work it slowly and accentuate that climax of your solo with a fully opened, screaming sound. You can plug it in backwards and make it squeal, which of course sounds really cool with reverb, delay, and whatever else you want to put on there.

When it doesn't work, which happens more often than I'd like, it can really ruin creativity. I rely on my wah more than I realized, and have had to make due without it more thank I'd care to pay for.

Easy as any other wah. Babies could use it.

I run it at the begininng of my setup then into my tubescreamer, distortion and delay pedals. Then into a Marshall AVT100. Beautiful sounding wah clean or with overdrives kicked in. Very 70's classic rocknroll but thats why you buy this pedal.

RocknRoll music with full on 70's solos this pedal is ideal.

It's easy to use. You rock back. It goes HOO. You rock forth. It goes WAH.

This is the quintessential wah wah pedal. It has classic tone. Think Clapton, Hendrix, Page.....your run of the mill 60s and 70s blues Gods used the Vox. What it doesn't have is a great, big pronounced sweep a la Steve Vai - which is a bit of a shame because I like that. It's perfect for blues, great for funk and the action of the edal rocker allows wonderful 'fluttering' like Jimmy Page on No Quarter. That sounds great. I'd say it wa the pedal to buy if you play clean or with a mild overdrive. When you crank the distortion, the wah loses its wah; it becomes less pronounced. And it's not fantastic above the 12th fret on the 1st E for some reason..... It is your classic vintage wah without a doubt though.

never had a fault with it, it never fluctuates. Pots wear out and crackle eventually but that hasn't happened yet. It's nice and easy on the batteries compared to some wahs, too.

I play a combination of blues, funk and rock/metal/shred. It's NOT a shredder's weapon. It's a great wah for blues and funk, provides the best tone of all the wahs but I feel lets itself down when you crank the distortion. If you want to emulate Hendrix, Clapton etc, this is the pedal. If you want Satch and Vai, look elsewhere. It's the easiest pedal to use, I'd get another if I lost it or if it broke or some swine stole it. I just wish the sweep was a little wider. It's sturdy and simple with great tone.

The clean channel sounds absolutely beautiful on this wah. But when you click on some distortion, the wah loses alot of it's "wah", in fact I could barely here it while playing out the other night. I use a Peavey Bandit with the wah wah being the first pedal from my guitar.

Only used it a few times but it seems to be constructed very well. Would use it without a backup.

Love the clean wah, hate the distorted wah. Loses it's edge on distrortion. Crybaby sounds much better distorted but not as good clean.

Step on it to turn in on, step on it to turn it off. No knobs, how hard can it be?

In my opinion, its the best Wah Wah pedal ever made. Its just so classic and easy. At first when i got it i had not properly read the manual to realise you have to place it at the end of the setup or else itll almost turn into a volume pedal. So dont make that mistake. It sounds excellent. I play lead guitar and when i do a solo i put on the pedal and it does in fact make me sound better than i really am. Once you get a rhythm of how to "switch" it, the sky is the limit.

It only broke on me once, and it was a bizzare twist of fate. My band was playing outdoors on a VERY cold night. My wah wah and my distortion pedal broke! It was odd. When i got home i took it apart, and a wire had broken, but it was carefully protected by padding. Odd eh? But other than that, its been fine

Its great for classic rock and new rock. But its excellent for soloing, thats for sure. I love it on my solos.

Quite easy to use. Battery changing is a bit stupid but then again it dosen't take much juice - and you aren't an idiot.

This definetly is the real wah sound. There is maybe one wah better sounding then this the Ibanez-WH10 but I can't get my hands on that. This is nice. Better then Dunlop, though Dunlop is good too. This has the 70's feel.. for funk and for rock.. and that's what a person is usually looking for in a wah. I think Dunlop is like this but goes a little on the copyer/over technicality side. This has the tradition in it's sound.

This on rules. It is the best wah for anyone really lookings for _a wah-wah pedal_ in the real meaning of it.

It's a wah, very simple to use. You activate it and just rock the pedal. There're no additional knobs or buttons. I'haven't the manual, but who needs a manual for using a wah like this?

I've used this pedal with many setup, including Mesa Triple rectifier, Fender Twin Reverb silverface, Fender Bandmaster blackface, various marshall combos and stacks, Peavey and with a rack system too. It always has it's own sound, deep and throaty. I've used this pedal with an Ibanez RG-550, a Gibson SG-Z, a Smith Strat a Patrick Eggle and a 1962 Jazzmaster. It always works good, there're no problems at all. Sometimes, if I don't use it for a long period, it's a little noisy: I just clear the pot and then it works fine again. With this wah you get the typical Hendrix sound. It has more excursion than Jim Dunlop's Wha-wah. With my Smith Strat, this pedal, the fuzz-face, a Bandmaster blackface and a good Marshall SLP I have the sound similar to Jimi's one.

It's the only pedal I depend on it. It's the best wah I've ever tried. It's a 70's italian model and it's not very easy find another pedal like this, even if I live in Italy. I'm always trying to find at least another 70's Vox wah, for using it as a backup, but they cost a lot, like 300$. Crybaby and Ibanez WH-10 are good too, but I can't imagine me playing without this pedal on the floor, because this really fits with my style of playing guitar.

I like to play mainly post rock, but I've played crossover for some years. I like to play blues and 70's rock too. It's a good match with all the music I've played. I've been playing guitar for 8 years and I have the Vox wah for about 7 years. I've got an Ibanez WH-10 too. It's really cool, but less versatile. I use the Vox wah with a Dallas arbiter Fuzz-face. You have to put the Fuzz-face before the wah in your pedal chain because you get a better sound. I use also a Moogerfooger Ring modulator, a Small stone and an Electro-Harmonix Attack Equalizer. You can get really weird sounds with the wah and the ring modulator. The main feature of this pedal I love is the high frequencies it has if you rock on the pedal. Other wah pedals do not have this sound , are more darker sounding.And many pedals have less excursion. If it were stolen, I'd cry like a baby and I'd buy another Vox wah.

This was the first pedal I EVER used. Never even fooled around with another at the store and I understood this. Hell, I knew what to do BEFORE I even bought it!

Great sound. It used to pop when I'd switch it on or off but it works good now. It's not that great with the amp I have but the amp is crap so there's nothing to complain about. Great Hendrix tone. Also good for Cream.

The little rubber feet keep falling off, but I've found that it's easier to used with the feet off. Also, I'm too poor to use a backup so I don't need one. 8 because feet fell off but it works better.

Simple. Great feel as far as throw of the pedal.

Upgraded to true bypass. (simple procedure).

Really deep throaty sound, especially with a driver of some sort (i use a reissue Big Muff) before it. It's not noisy, especially when the bypass is fixed. A grate effect alone or in a chain, to be honest I was not really into wahs, a little underwhelmed I guess, mainly into out-there and real versatile units, but was converted with this.
I really like it for taming and bringing out the sounds of other effects. You can do hendrixy stuff I guess, I'm not really about that.. more the Sonic Youth, MBV, Velvet Underground, etc thing. It's really nice with the Muff, and sounds great in static (stuck wah) positions, doing GREAT Sabbath, Dino Jr., and Stooges S/T album impressions. It's also got that sort of old school rockin vibe.
It's the Rickenbacker or AC30 of pedals. The only complaint is occasionally it cuts my sound when being switched on/off, but it's not really a big problem.

This thing is super heavy duty, I could not see it BREAKING, although it's probably only a matter of time for the pot/inductor. If (when) that goes I'd probably want to order a Fulltone replacement.

I'm a dronerock-shoegaze-improv-psychedelicfreekout guitarist and pedal-player, and use this with some other pedals. I really like the Muff with it, but would like to move up to a Fuzz Factory for even more weirdness and gain. And probably much better fuzz-tones, and definitely better bypass. Its got great looks, great sound, sits well with other pedals. I was also considering the Whammy Wah, and the Snarling Dogs multi-wahs, because I'm just into versatile equipment.
This is a great pedal, you won't be disappointed.

The sound is classic, very Hendrixy and Cream sounding. And theirs lots of wha so you can still here it through a lot of fuzz.

I've only had it two days but it seems very dependable.

Compared to the Crybaby they were pretty similar on the clean channel but when you add lots of fuzz I couldn't even notice the Crybaby, but the Vox was still putting out plenty of wha. I would for sure by this again if it were stolen or lost.

WTF?! Just plug your guitar in and rock it with your foot. If you can't understand that you shouldn't be allowed on the highway.

Best wah I've heard. It sounds just like Hendrix's. I'd play with it for hours.

If you have the money and want a good wah, get this one. The only thing I don't like about it is the crappy bypass [like some others have pointed out]. It kills some of the high frequencies.

in my opinion I think this is the be all end all of wahs this is it, the original, the one that started it all, I have owned literally every single wah out there on the market and recently I came accross this babe at a garage sale. I would protect this babe with my life.

this is a true story. I have droped the mother f-er out my second window and all it got was dirt landing on my lawn. and when i picked it up to bring it back up stairs, I triped and it feel 12 steps down to my suprise, it only sufferd a few scracthes.

these guys are assholes, I couldn't get trough for 60 mins and when I got through they hung up on me. this happend 3 times and then I said f**k it.

Simple, you all know the concept!

Sounds great, has a kind of growliness that sounds pretty cool. Very organic sounding. In bypass mode, it tends to eat your tone though since it's not true bypass. I bought a new switch from Stewart-MacDonalds, and modified it to be true-bypass. You can find this modification on the web if you go searching for it, it's pretty easy and makes a BIG difference in tone when bypassed. Course, that left me with the old switch hanging around. It always bugged me how these things eat batteries when you're not actually using the effect. What I ended up doing was drilling a hole under the narrow end of the pedal so that there was ample clearance for me to install the old footswitch. Then I installed the old footswitch so that if I depress the narrow end of the pedal all the way down, it's just enough to engage the switch. I then wired the battery circuit into this switch. Next, I drilled another small hole where I could see it while standing up playing, and added a small red LED. Now, I just kick the pedal all the way back to turn it on when I want to use it for wah. The red LED lights, and I just use like I normally would. If I'm not going to be using it for any more tunes soon, I just kick back again on the pedal, and the battery is shutoff till I need it. Works great, and yes, you do have to be in bypass mode when you shut the battery off.

Very rugged

I play jazz, fusion, rock, blues, and I like a bit of a psychedelic twinge. This pedal's cool for getting the funk groove, or just getting subtle tone modifications during a solo. I only wish that they's offer these with TRUE Bypass right from the factory, it sounds so much better, and it really can't be very expensive.

This is a wah, I mean how hard could it be? Only bad thing is that sometimes it can be hard to click on and off, and that sometimes can throw me off in a live situation.

Let me get one thing straight, this is the original wah, so its gonna sound a little raunchy, but hey, thats the way I like it. It has a very nasely sound when pressed all the way down and you can hear a little air swooshing when you sweep it up and down. Still though this is the original and its a one of a kind.

WD-40 is sometimes required because mine has been known to squeek from time to time. I Rarely use this at gigs, but when the situation calls for it, this is the only wah I would use.

Overall I give the Vox a 7. Its the original wah sound and just plain looks cool. Check your hair in the shiny chrome while performing in emergencies=) As I said abover its not the greatest sounding wah and does have its problems but thats just the way I like it.

Could not be easier.

This is definitely the Rolex of Wah pedlas. I tried a friend's Dunlop first and my wife told me never to bring one of these things home again. I picked this one up in a pawn shop (despite her instruction) and even she loves it. Great, warm sound with aboslutely no noise. I use this with a Mexican Strat and a Fender Sidekick Switcher 30W amp. Sounds great clean or distorted.

If it were stolen, I'd definitely get another, but I would probably have to pay more than I did. I got a steal on this sucker.

When the wah is open, it's hard to sumtimes hear the sounds, because of the low tone.

All in all, this is a pretty good pedal. Not the best, not the worst. I wish that it had an adapter, rather than just the battery. I've played on dunlop, and vox. If you've got the extra case, just go ahead and buy the vox.

All you do is just step on it and it works, step off and it turns off. If you can't figure it out, you've got some major probs.

This pedal kicks some major A$$. I sprinted to the nearest music store, tried it along with the Crybaby, and this thing ripped the Crybaby to shreds. It had a 25% wider range of wah. Its sounds awesome clean, but when used with my amp's distortion (the effects loop sounded like crap) the pedal lost most of the wah, so I whipped out my Ibanez Tubescreamer AFTER the wah pedal, and even though now there is even MORE distrtion, against all rules of physics, common sense,and humanity as we know it, the wah TRIPLED compared to the GREAT clean state. I have a Peavey Bandit 112, and a cheesy, jet fairly nice sounding Ibanez RX 20.

I tried dropping a HYDROGEN BOMB on it, and I works great anyway, except.....well......my eyeball hurts from the explosion.

Never tried, never will try, but I will try 911 once I can find the phone blindly.

I Just want to add to all the other stuff written about this classic pedal. It does eat batteries if you leave you leads plugged in - it also is impossible to tell if it is switched on or not - and it has a lot of treble. So if you buy one make three mods Firstly - drill a hole in the side and install a sicket for a 9 volt feed and do away with the battery problem forever Secondly - whilst you have your drill in your hand drill another hole in the side and wire up a small light bulb that will indicate if the thing is switched on. Thirdly - as mentioned below - undo the base and adjust the ratchet position so it has less treble

It sounds terrible by todays standards - its noisy, and it has an awful tone. But this is what a VOX Wah Wah should sound like. Dont compare it with anything else because this is the original. This is it - and this is how it should be.

Im playing thru a LP copy and a crappy peavey amp, and it still manages to wail. They only gripe i have is it takes away some of the "bite" when its turned off. Sounds really weird if you put it after the flange/dist. channel on my processer

hell yeah...one of the rubber thingies on the bottom of the pedal part came off.. but i just glued it back on. No need for backup, maybe an A/C adaptor would be nice

I give it an overall 9 because no pedal is perfect, everything has its drawbacks. crybabys dont take away the treble, but their sweep isnt as wide. I would kill if it had an ac adaptor, i tried hooking one up and it gave me some freaky noise (hint hint vox). Works great for the satch i play

Great Sounding Wah, even though I havent tried out a Cryaby yet. Its got a BAD fuz sound when I turned it on for the first time then I turned off the overdrive built in my amp and it worked fine. Definetly has the Hendrix sound.

I just got it so I cant write much here. So far no, help or parts were needed. I would use it with a gig because I found a way to use a Apaptor, get a Universal Apaptor with a 9V plug. Connect it with 9V plug in the Wah. The only prob is the backplate I found if you leave it pretty loose it fits out.

Never got help so I had to give it a 1. This ratings got nothing to do with its sound.

Great sound. I play it through my Fender American Standard and it sounds great. Its got the SRV , Hendrix sound I wanted. I also use BOSS Flanger pedal behind the VOX and it sounds great. i play the VOX through a Crappy Crate GX-15. I have been playing guitar for 4 years. I would Definetley Buy it again,it definetly will beat a Crybaby in my book. Email me if you have any questions or Comments.

click the pedal forward and wah away pedals don't come much simpler but the switch can sometimes be hard to switch

very rangy wah very vintage sounding - classic wah sounds great with a distortion (but only AFTER the wah pedal)

slider needs occasional greasing I would only gig with it (and have) with fresh batteries since it has no AC adapter jack switch is sometimes a little tricky to get

definitely better than any other wah I've heard, but I've heard good things about the new Dunlop wah with the "Q" control (but then I don't trust Dunlop products in general, they're made shoddily) I wish it has a LED indicator and an AC adapter I would buy it again because there's no better alternative the chrome is very cool too
