The new 5 knob version with 3 way gain switch

Sound Quality : 10
I use it through a peavey envoy (1x10 practice amp) at home and it even sounds great on the clean of my 5150 head. You can get a little dirt all the way to death metal. With hot pickups or hitting it with another pedal
(super od, tubescreamer, micro amp) you can easily get insanely huge metal tones at bedroom volume. Also gets the early vh type tones wit ease. Smooth steve vai-ish tones are in there as well. Great pedal and extremely versitale. Very quiet too.

Reliability : 10
My basement flooded because I moved some dirt in a stupid spot outside of the house causing it to flood (DOH!!) and it was on the floor. I let it dry opened up for a few days and it still works just fine.

The man (Brian Wampler) is constantly sending e-mails to his customers. He really seems to care!

The Super Plextortion is an upgrade to the Plextortion pedal that Brian Wampler put out a while back. It has a fixed mid setting that works so well I don't miss the knob. You have the option of gaining this control back - just let him know before he builds it. Yes, he don't cook it 'til it's ordered! Approx. 2-3 weeks wait time.
It has volume, gain, treble, bass, three-way toggle for gain stages, and a bright switch. It is true bypass.
This pedal is designed to easily recreate a JCM 800 Marshal tone with different levels of gain (via three-way toggle.) It is very easy to use. I was having problems deciding which setting to leave it on, as I planned on using it in a limited capacity to change overall tone to the Marshall vibe. While it easily accomplishes this purpose; I decided I would bend down occasionally and change settings because they were all three so damned good!

My setup is either my custom Nedd M1 Classic (similar to a Les Paul or PRS with split-able humbuckers - Duncan JB in bridge and Jazz in neck position) or a stock American Strat into a Wampler Ego Compressor, Boss Stage Tuner, Keeley True-Bypass switch, Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q wah, Visual Sound Angry Fuzz (Octavia-type effect), Wampler Ecstasy Overdrive, Wampler Super Plextortion, Behringer GE700 e.q. pedal (used for clean boost), Boss TR-2 Temolo and Eventide Time Factor into either a '73 Fender Champ, Mesa Nomad 45 or Bose Tower system.
This pedal makes my '73 Fender Champ sound like my old JCM 800 combo. No kidding. I was surprised by how nice the bass control works to create spaciousness; well, at least the illusion of spaciousness - my Champ is small! Fender to Marshall with one box. Hell yes.
This thing is really quiet even on higher gain settings (although it isn't a "metal pedal" type gain) but single-coil settings might get a bit of that typical Strat noise. This is normal, in my experience.

Reliability : 10
I have only used this pedal for about two months now, however it is built in a sturdy aluminum case. The knobs and switches seem really solid. Brian only uses great stuff. I use it without a backup all the time. I would always rather have a backup of any pedal, but this one makes me feel safe.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've heard good things about how they are to work with, but have had no experience other than ordering and receiving the product. I can't say yet.

I play rock, country, blues, and funk. I have been playing guitar for almost 29 years (good lord, really?) and, in addition to the gear listed above, I have other pedals that have "fallen to the side" from my pedalboard including Visual Sound Route 66, H2O and Jekyll and Hyde, Boss/Roland PW10 Virtual Wah (I could hear the digitalness of the sweep. Eewww.), Line 6 Modulation Modeler (volume drop and weak tone), Boss DD5 (too clean - should've had it modded) and some others that I'm too lazy to go look at right now.
The Wampler pedal I would buy again with no second thoughts were it lost or stolen. I love the way it makes my sound jump into another place as if I've switched amps! I hate the fact that I only bough one. My favorite setting is the middle gain setting - very AC/DC.
I looked at a ton of other, more expensive boutique pedals and listened to them all over and over - Lovepedal Eternity, Crowther Hotcake, Fulltone Fulldrive, and most other lesser-known makers. I liked most of them, but this one I could not live without. The quality and price sold me as well as the tone.
I wish it had painted lettering instead of a sticker, but no biggie.
I am a Wampler fan!
