Very good tone. Easily Gets a growling distortion tone (Same as a Ibanez SD-9 sonic distortion) but does not screw with the tone. Better that a Boss DS-1 or MXR Distortion.

This thing is really abused and works fine. Heavy Die cast housing, hand wired controls, heavy pc board. Made in Japan. No JRC 4558 chip, but tas TI op amp that sounds good.

Plain distortion box: level, tone, distortion knobs. Works on the Boss adaptor - great!

I call it my Santana box, you know that tone in "Samba PA Ti"? I nail this tone dead on, while using a bridge humbucker through a compressor, this box, a Flanger than a bit of reverb on the amp... marvelous.

I have several different distortion boxes, just in case. The switch is sometimes temperamental, but it hasn't failed me yet

Are Washburn pedals still in production?

For the price, it was a steal. Other than a few scratches on the case it's a fine unit. I guess the fact that Washburn isn't well-known as a guitar pedal manufacturer played in my favor. It has a unique tone, as does my Tube Screamer which just adds more flexibility. Bottom line: if it sounds good, use it!
