Ahhhhh the ever famous, ever lusty Aqua Puss delay. A little tricky to get your exact setting because the feedback knob is very intense but once you dial her in you will never want to turn her off! As a guitar player, I look at this thing like an old man looks at a restored '57 Chevy.

I use this through a Vox AC30 and a '52 RI Tele with an Adder neck pickup. Other main pedals in my rig are...Keeley Compressor, Analogman King of Tone, Zendrive. So far so good.
I previously had an old Ibanez AD-80 and I ain't gonna lie...it may be a HAIR warmer. However, the Aqua Puss is clearer AND warm. Still wanna pick one of those up again down the line.
Pretty quiet although you will run into a little hiss after 1:00 on the dial which is fairly common for an analog delay. I use it for slapback so no hiss for me. This pedal has a very ambient sorta "reverbish" quality that at first wasn't used to but now I crave.
I also just sold an MXR Carbon Copy which Jeorge Tripps had a hand in and I kinda miss that pedal too! Every pedal has their unique flavors for different situations. Will have to get one of those again, too! I must say that the CC is a fantastic pedal that is built solid and priced right and that would probably be THE pedal to gig with.

Yes, it is built solid and I would not gig with it PERIOD unless I had a couple coked up NFL players standing guard right next to it. I don't think anybody in the crowd can tell the difference between this and anything else. This will be for studio use only.

Actually e-mailed Jeorge some questions and he was helpful. Seems like a cool *** dude.

I first heard about this pedal through Brad Paisley and HAD to cop the tones myself. It's the only sure fire way to get that slapback tone. I know about the DM-2 but had to have the 'Puss. :-) You can get close with others but there is only one.
Everybody knows you can only get this used as they are not made anymore and you can say what you want about the price but you probably have some big purchases in your rig too and would buy certain expensive items if you had the money at the given time. I think modern Gibson is a waste of coin but we are all entitled to our opinions. I had to scrape it together for this one. I ain't rich, but my tone is!

Simple to use, 3 knobs allow easy adjustment of parameters most used in delay pedals. Limited delay 20-300 milliseconds. Good for rockobilly I guess. No internal trim pots to lengthen time of delay.
Sound Quality

Noise level of delays are usually present in a floor pedal board and this is no exception.Replace battery, no help.Compared to Boss DM3 and a new Ibanez AD-9 Reissue it is not any better than what you are paying for. These are way hugely overpriced and the folks that sell them on ebay for over $500 are crazy, save your money and buy a couple DM3's or AD9's and have two delays for different settings. The AD9 also has a trim pot inside to get more of the Eric Johnson approved 379 millisecond time. Fairly high noise level but most analogs are.Not enough mojo for the price.

Seems well built with nice components, but it is a floor pedal.Treat it with some care.Luckily mine has the original box.

Out of business as are many boutique pedal makers. They seem to hop on the bandwagon and make some cool stuff and when they can't afford to advertise or keep up with demand they are gone. Too bad.

Cool pedal for $200, not worth the $500 and up hype, don't fall victim to this unless you are rich or stupid.Buy a vintage Boss DM-3 or a new Ibanez AD-9 and tweak it. The Maxon stuff is much better as well, I have been using delays for 25 years using Echoplexes on up thru the digital racks, many can be found on ebay cheap, but not this thing.Holy Grail???? NOT!!!!

sound quality is great, yes. But I will go against the grain here and point out the Aqua-Puss' liabilities: NOT ENOUGH DELAY TIME. If you need it for slapp-a-billy , echo or a short delay it is fine, But does a 300ms delay justify$800-$900 on Ebay? This is a clone of the Ibanez/Maxon AD80 (which was 18v) but you can get a clone of this clone by buying an "Atomic Echo Clone" at Musictoyz.com. All three of the aforementioned pedals sound almost identical.
That said, it is a great sounding pedal

I prefer a longer delay to double up my notes like the Moog MF104 or the Toneczar Echotone (over 100ms!!!)...the Maxon AD999 (or900) is very good too. Still, I would only sell all but one of my 3 aqua-puss'.

the sound quality of this pedal is top-knotch. i don't use it with my live rig. only for recording. but just for the sake of argument i use a discontinued two channel boogie triple rec with an absurd amount of pedals. the pedal is dead quiet. no analog delay i've ever heard is this awesome.

this pedal is awesome.the delay time is kinda short, but you can always use it in conjunction with another delay. just having it on is going to make your tone better. i bought it for weird tape delay sounds. it's awesome.

Very easy to use. 3 knobs: Blend (controls the wet/dry mix or intensity of the delayed signal), Feedback (controls the number of repeats), Delay (controls the delay time).

This is the best-sounding analog delay I've heard. All the things you hear about analog delays are true about this pedal: warm, fat, organic, etc. Also, has true bypass , (like all Way Huge pedals), and doesn't adversely affect your tone when off.
Reliability

All these good tones come in a tough, brushed aluminum box with Switchcraft jacks and a smooth DPDT true bypass footswitch. Mechanical parts of the innards (jacks, switches) look easy to change if the need arises

I was a bit skeptical of this particular pedal at first given the crazy proces that the Way Huge pedals are fetching these days. I have had several different delays, both analog and digital. I still have the Boss DM-3 and an older Digitech 8-second delay/sampler that is cool in a kind of lo-fi way. I have a friend that has had an Aqua Puss for many years. He got his when they were $150 or so. Good investment. Anyway, after I heard his I started looking for one. I was lucky enough to find one in trade, because I don't think I would ever pay $450+ for any pedal. I use: Esquire or 1968 SG-->Analogman TS-9--->Aqua Puss--->Matchless DC-30 or Clark Beaufort. This is really a super sounding delay. It just sounds right to my ears.

I run a PRS hollowbody II->Musitronics Octave Divider->Teese RMC 3 wah->TS808->Ibanez Super Tube->Electro Harmonix Zipper->Ross Grey Compressor->mxr script phase 90->Arion Chorus->Ernie Ball Volumne Pedal->DM2->DM2->Boss DD5->1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb. oooh oooh oooh. Simple as hell -- it's an analog delay with knobs for delay time, repeats, and mix.

I use it with various gear, Les Pauls, Strat, Tele, thru old Fenders and a VHT amp. This pedal KILLS! Warm sound with no hiss or other noises. It has trim pots on the inside but the factory setting sound fine so I have left them alone. It can pretty much cop the echoplex vibe, it's only limitation is it's short delay times... this thing is pretty much for R & R, blues and rockabilly type of playing, not your long-delay Hendrix sound. You can nail that old-time RAB sound with it. I use it when I do roots-music type gigs, or when I have to play in a real dry-sounding room with my old Bassman which has no reverb. I was lucky enough to get one for a discounted retail price just before the company went out of business. I actually listed it for sale once after they had become worth big $ but came to my senses and removed the ad when I realized that the Aqua-Puss is irreplacable. I don't know why someone else doesn't make a high quality, true bypass analog delay since there is obviously a big demand for one. I am SO glad I didn't sell this pedal.

If I ever lost this pedal I'd be screwed, since replacing it would cost probably over $500. I hope it never happens. I'd probably buy a cheaper Boss or Ibanez analog delay to replace it. At the time I bought the pedal I thought it was expensive, but now it seems like quite a bargain.

I bought this pedal used (thats the only way you're gonna be able to snag one btw) so it did not come with a manual, but its vry easy to use. Three nobs - delay, feedback, and mix. I receieved the pedal between gigs and I took it with me to my second gig that night withotu ever trying it before. I plugged it in, fiddled with it for about 2 seconds, and had somevery use able sounds which I used all night!

Ungodly. This pedal is divine. The delay is very warm and lush, organic if you will. I am playing an American Deluxe Strat through a Fender Twin most of the time, but I have also used it with an electric-acoustic through my Twin and it sounds beautiful. Easy to replicate some Tim Reynolds sounds (think Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live acoustic CD's). This pedal is not noisey at all when all, and there is definately no noise while off, as it has true bypass switching.

I have only had this pedal for a short while, so I can't really rate it yet. It is in a nice box, but it appears that it would scratch easy, and since it is a collectors item now thats not a plus if you want to gig with it. The switch is also a little sketchy, but I am sure it will hold up. All in all, I would gig without a backup for this pedal.

Way Huge is out of business, but there website is still up. I hae emailed Mr. Huge regarding places to look for his pedals, and he promptly sent me a list of stores and sites and was very pleasant to deal with. He also backs his pedals 100%, even after business. No worries here.

I generally play rock (alternative & classic) and blues. I have played for about 8 years now. I didnt really compare this pedal to any others, I wanted to get it right on the first try, so I did alot of researched and found this puppy. Glad I did cause its perfect for my needs. If it were lost or stolen I would be very VERY upset, they are so great but such a rarity and so expensive. I woudl try to get another, let me put it that way. It has opened up a musical window for me to experiment with different lead styles and chording. I highly recommend this pedal.
