Ease of Use : 10
Insanely easy to use, just connect to it from your amp, then connect your speakers to it. I'm using my old Marshall Mk II 100-watt head for it and it just rocks! Not using a cab with it, so I just A/B it with my Line 6 Vetta rig. Never had a problem and the tone is awesome (see below).

Sound Quality : 10
I've been using talkboxes since '78 as a part of my rig. The old Heil and Dean Markley talkboxes held up well, for years and years, until time (and one famous guitarist for one o' them "Southern" Bands) took it's toll. I tried the Banshee, the new Heil and, thanks to a fellow player, the Framptone, desperate for a replacement that had the tone and wouldn't require a small personal loan to buy. On an internet search I found the S.Talker. After several emails with Vince at WMS, I bought his original 60-watt Type I (that was the only type when I found it years ago) for just under $100. I figured that my 100-watt head would blow the fuse first (unlike one of the others) and it's never let me down! The tone is deep, warm and crunchy. A total "head-turner" in the gigs I play. For the money it's the hands down winner!

Reliability : 10
I've used this one for several years with a new Heil as a backup, but the Heil just stays in the box waiting. A couple weeks ago I thought the S.Talker had blown (though the fuse was still good) and quickly ordered Vince's newer 100-watt version. If I'd investigated further I would have found that it was only a bad cable, but the nice part is I have two S.Talkers that cost me less than the Framptone and sound warmer, too! Couldn't be happier!

Customer Support : 10
Vince does a killer job at PR, as well as being a great effects designer. He's answered all emails quickly and very personally. He's also sent follow ups just to make sure his product does what he says it will. It's like having a friend who happens to run the company, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since 1971, both full time and part time. I've been recording and gigging around central Texas nearly every weekend for the last 15 years. I still have my first Marshall Mk.II head since I got it in...wow...'76 or '77? For rock/classic rock, shoot, any style that you care to use a talkbox, the S.Talker does it for me! I use a '60 Custom Shop Les Paul, customized Highway One Strat, '77 Flying V, Reissue '76 Explorer, Faded Double Cutaway Les Paul Special, and an Ibanez S470DXQM (who names those things?) for the "locked tremolo" rockers. Line 6 won me over first with the AX212 and, for the last few years, the Vetta II. Not exactly tubes, but the tone, versatility and reliability is pretty hard to beat for the bucks! As mentioned above, if my S.Talker was stolen or lost, and I couldn't find that replacement I just got, I'd order another immediately! The tone is unbeatable! The price below is for Vince's Type II, 100 watt S.Talker.

Ease of Use : 10
This is a very simple unit to set up as far as talk boxes are concerned. The manual is easy to follow and I had it up and running in 2 minutes.

Sound Quality : 10
I decided to use a Fender CyberChamp as the amp for this unit. Being a Marshall player I didn't want to push 100 watts into the S.Talker because it can only handle about 70 watts. This was covered in the manual, which is nice considering that you could blow up an output transformer if there isn't a proper load on the (tube) amp.

I'm playing a Les Paul through it and use a Framptone amp switcher to turn the talk box on. The tone of the S.Talker is excellent. Right off the bat it was clear that they designed it right and I couldn't be happier with the vocal quality that came through the tube. Another thing that is great about the S.Talker is its ability to use various sized tubing. I picked the large tube and got excellent intelligibility out of it. The smaller tube didn't seem to work as well for what I was looking for.

Reliability : 9
I just picked this up a week ago so it's hard to say at the moment from real-world use, but it's clearly built well. Very sturdy, yet lightweight. I will be using it for a show coming up this month and feel confident that there won't be any issues.

Customer Support : 10
Vince is great! I actually bought this unit on Ebay and he was kind enough to send me a manual for free. Besides that he was very fast reponding to my emails and was always informative.

Overall Rating : 10
I play in a 70's rock tribute band and the talk box was used in quite a few songs. Along with my gear, this is a welcome addition. If anything happened to it I would certainly replace it.

And, the coolest thing about the look of the S.Talker is the EXTREMELY bright blue LED. Dang, that thing could blind you. I've never seen anything like it before.

Ease of Use : 10
OMG!!! Is there even a need for this question? If you can plug in a guitar you can plug in the S.TALKER!

Sound Quality : 10
VERY good quality!!

Reliability : 10
I would totally trust this for road use. Come on, its even protected with a fuse. If you over power it by mistake you won't kill it all together like the other brands. Change the fuse and keep your gig rollin!

Customer Support : 10
I never had a need for this but what I can say is Vince is totally willing and is on top of EVERY question. I would not have a doubt that support will be top notch.

Overall Rating : 10
Again, nothing beats the awesome sounds of a talk box and S.TALKER is one of the best I've used and heard. No matter what style of music you write you will find many uses for an S.TALKER talk box! Don't forget, its not just for guitars!

This is the real deal people, Even the most critical of players will like this one, as long as you know what it does and is supposed to sound like... Comes with two size tubes for different sound, both sound excellent, its just a preference thing...

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank. No rattle or foreign vibration sounds of any kind. SOLID...

Customer Support : No Opinion
They communicate very well and will be more than happy to accommodate any questions or problems you have...

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 12 years and have fenders, gibsons, marshalls and lots of high end pedals. I have had and seen lots of junk over the years that gets weeded out and sold but the super talker is a keeper, even if it gets put aside for a while like we all do from time to time, it will never be sold. If you are in the market for a talk box this is the real deal, go and Get one...

Ease of Use : 6
Once you get the hang of how a real talk box works, and I say real because that Dano thing is not a real talk box, it is fairly easy to use. If you don't have a speaker out on your combo then you have to do some rewiring. If you have a head then you should be set if you have two speaker outs. The manual is very helpful for whatever setup you will use and gives you schemes of how to do the wiring of a new speaker out. So once you get past the initial wiring set up you have to learn how to use the tube, then you have to have the PA setup right, because that is where the sound will be channeled. So this takes some tweaking until you get it right. But once you get it right it is the real deal. So I gave it a lower "Ease of Use" rating because of all the factors involved.

Sound Quality : 10
Top notch sound quality. It is uncanny how this sounds compared to any recording you've ever heard. Frampton, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, etc.. You name it this box does it. I use it with a Marshall JTM45 reissue head and it sounds exact. You have to get the PA right though or else you won't get the best results.

Reliability : 10
I've only had the box a few months but I've driven it prety hard. The JTM I use it with is the perfect wattage as I would really have to run the amp hard to blow the fuse. Yep, there is a fuse so that you don't blow out the diaphragm like some of the other boxes and render the box just that.. a box and nothing else. I've yet to gig with it but that is coming up soon.

Customer Support : 10
I've only dealt with them when I purchased the S. Talker. But they were more than happy to go with my shipper of choice and they packed the Talker up great so that UPS couldn't even damage it.

Overall Rating : 9
I am very particular about my sound. I go through amps like women go through shoes. I have a beat up '81 Dean ML, with original DiMarzio super distortion zebra pickups, which is my only constant in my neverending gear quest. The S. Talker is the sound I am looking for in a talkbox. I haven't tried a Heil but I can't imagine it being any better than this. I don't know anyone with a Framptone talkbox so I can't form an opinion on that one. The Dano free speech box is a joke compared to this and probably the Heil box also. This is a great box, big but it needs to be in order to get the right components in it.

Ease of Use : 9
Easy to use....once you learn how to use one. Talk boxes are a blast but some experimentation is needed.

Sound Quality : 9
This is one clear, articulate, ballsy, loud and nasty, In yo'face, talk box. Used it with a Silverface Fender Bassman and a Strat, the effect was virtually 3D. Use a wide tube for the most range.

Reliability : 9
Looks real sturdy. Hasn't done anything funky. I'd use it without a backup.

Customer Support : 9
Vince has always been available. He seems like a real friendly, knowledgable guy. He stands by his stuff 100%.

Overall Rating : 9
If you are going to get a talkbox, this is the one. These are hand built not mass produced. They sound like a talkbox should....In your face!!!

Ease of Use : 10
The S. Talker is VERY user friendly. The way it is configured, even the most "untechnical" among us will have no problem understanding the caqble routing configuration. The manual is helpful. But, even more, the company's user support is EXCEPTIONAL.

Sound Quality : 10
I am using an early 70's Gibson ES-125, a Gibson L-6S with Classic 57's, and an original '67 SG. I am playing it through a Marshall MK-II with 1960B cabinet, and/or a 1970's Fender Twin. There is NO line noise. The talk effect was good with the original tubing packaged with the unit, but sounds a LOT stronger with a bit larger tubing that can be bought at any hardware store.

Reliability : 10
The unit seems well constructed. It seems durable. I do not mind the size of it, because the casing seems to be much sturdier than the Heil's and Rocktron's I have seen. I have no back-up talk box. This one is MY one and only baby.

Customer Support : 10
This company gives the absolute BEST tech support I have ever received on ANY product I have ever used as a guitarist. I have been in the music business since 1969. If there was a rating ABOVE 10 for this, I would gladly give it.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing rock since 1968. I have seven guitars ranging from a Martin D-18 to a '67 Gibson SG. I own Fenders, Takamines, Deans, and Gibsons. The S'Talker has a cool look, a GREAT sound. I would definitely buy another one should something happen to the one I now own. Thanks, Vince. You have made a SUPER product at a great price! I also love the cool t-shirt.

Piece of cake to set up if you have a head/cabinet. Clear instructions included (along with a well written warning) about how to customize a combo with hard-wired speakers. Manual gives useful tips on getting the most out it. The tube is quite small (about 1/4 the size of a Dunlop/Heil),but quite easy to get used to. Well done!

Sound Quality : 10
I use my '77 100-watt Marshall Mk II for the talkbox. Tone? IMMACULATE!! Crank it to about 4, preamp between 8 and 10 and this puppy sings. With a 60-watt driver, it has more volume and better tone than the Dunlop/Heil by a long shot...even a fuse to protect the driver...haven't see anyone else do that!

Reliability : 8
Just used it for the first time. I went for almost 21 years with my old Heil (or Dean Markley's version of it) and never had a backup...and that one didn't even have a fuse! I get the feeling that this one will last!

Customer Support : 10
Great communication before I even bought it! Answered all my questions and calmed my fears about running my Marshall through it. A low BS factor for sure. Definitely a pro oufit!

Overall Rating : 10
From classic rock to Prog, this talkbox fits anywhere. You want Frampton, Joe Walsh, Steve Perry, Slash? Hardcore? New Metal? Country? This is your talkbox! I've played for 30 years through my Marshall and now I'm a dedicated Line 6 lover, so the Marshall is the talkbox amp and backup. As said above, my old talkbox was incredible and lasted more than two decades. The S.Talker has the tone, the crunch, clarity, sustain. I bought a Dunlop/Heil and it sounded OK, but WAY quiet. After about 6 gigs it blew (and I was being careful with the volume, too). A former bandmate has the Rocktron talkbox and says he loves the tone, but he can sneeze louder than it plays. The S.Talker is louder (though it doesn't rattle my sinuses like the old one) and if they make a 100-watt version I'll buy it,too! It's easy to set up, easy to use with the provided tube (actually THREE tubes...how's that for hygiene?) and velcro strip for the mic, and WAY easy to get tone! This 'box ROCKS!

The S.Talker is fairly easy to use and sets up easily. You must have a speaker output on your combo or separate amp head to use it. It doesn't hook-up in-line like most other pedals. There is a manual that explains just about everthing you need to know. I wish there was a section that gives you some tips on how to get the best sound though. If you have never used one of these, it is s different animal to get used to.

Sound Quality : 8
I use the unit with a Marshall and it sounds really great. Our keyboard player has used it with excellent results, lots of different sounds. We have found that some effects sound weaker than others. It's a matter of experimentation. We tried weird effects like tremelo and echos with it. You can go into strange universes with this thing if you're willing to play around!

Reliability : 10
We have been playing with the S.Talker for about a year now and have had no real problems at all. I have always had a bit of anxiety about playing live with it, butit has always come through. I would like to have a back-up just in case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with company.

Overall Rating : 9
We play lots of heavy metal originals and cover tunes and have been into it for about 6 years. We own lots of other gear including the Line-6 POD, Mackie Mixers, JBL FOH system, Marshall and Ampeg amps. We love the S.Talker for its cool sound and it looks pretty cool too. There isn't much to dislikee about it. I bought a custom model with a spider on the cover with eyes that light up when you switch it on. That is always a conversation starter. This is the first talkbox I have ever owned, so I would not be able to comment on how it compares to others.
