Not always there. Seem to try to talk through email, but lose it all with a low quality product.

The outside looks awesome, but open it up! Once it's gone bad and you want to see exactly what might have gone wrong, you'll see the ugliest thrown together bunch of wires, electrical tape, random shedding pieces of broken styrofoam and globs of glue. The components seem to be decent, just bad the way it's put together. I wish they would put more time into their production. The idea is there, the parts are there...it looks awesome on the outside???great concept with the LED's, just a score of 0 on quality control. You have to keep customers happy...protect the product and your name!

Well my last review was in 2006, its now 2009 I have done hundreds of gigs in that time with my new framptone talkbox, and I am very happy to say its been working perfectly!.....so why am I writing this review now????? well I still have a bad taste in my mouth after the way wild media systems treated me, the facts are simple....
1) I had a framptone talkbox for years!
2) Framptone got smashed in transport to the middle east
3) I tried to save money buy getting a Heil but that stopped working (may have been a wattage problem because they are lower wattage than framptone)
4) discovered the SUPER TALKER and noticed they did a 100 watt version!!! THEN I emailed them with a well laid out illustration of EXACTLY what gear I have and the EXACT way I couple things up! (the way I had been doing for years) and they got back to me very quickly and put my mind at rest by CONFIRMING there was nothing wrong with how I set it up, and that with my gear and the way I set it up I would have NO problems!
5) Done around 15 gigs, (bearing in mind the talkbox is only used on two songs of each gig) and all of a sudden NOTHING....the thing just stopped working!
6) Emailed wild media systems, they told me I would have to pay to get it fixed, and the shipping etc
7) Write a review on here in my disgust, and wild media basically reply saying it must be the way I set it up (can you believe that???) even AFTER they confirmed I set it up correctly and AFTER I had been using a framptone for YEARS with zero problems
8) Eventually just shell out for a new Framptone, and continue to use it without ANY problems up until the present day (2009) thats 3 years!
So you gotta ask yourself, I wonder what REALLY happened with the SUPER TALKER, I personally think there is a design flaw, they wont admit to, but all I will say is you have been warned

The manual is simple and to the point - much like the use of the talk box itself. The diagrams are great. It takes some getting used to using the tube. Having vocoded for 6 years, even I had some difficulty at first getting used to the promounciations, but this goes for any talkbox.
If you have trouble with the use of the talkbox, or continued probs with breaking any talkbox - the talkbox isn't for you.
and this brilliantly comes with a fuse!

Amazing!
The power it can handle is phenomenal!
and I only have the 60watt talkbox.

Very very very sturdy.
This thing can hold up at gigs!
and like i said - it's protected by a fuse.
While I don't intend to have to make "use" of the fuse - it's good to know it's there.

In response to the review from the Wild Media Systems guys,
here are the facts,
I
had owned a Framptone talkbox for 2 years with absolutely no problems what so ever, THEN i did a gig in dubai, unfortunately the big shot arab security guy made me put the talk box in with the luggage instead of taking it on the plane as hand luggage...anyway to cut a long story short, when i got back to the uk it was smashed up and not functioning, so being in a bonjovi tribute i desperately needed a new talkbox (Even if it is only used on 2 songs in the ENTIRE set)
so i decided to buy myself the Heil talkbox because i couldn't afford a new framtone (they are very expensive)
anyway the heil worked fine for about 2 months, then one day it just stopped working, a tech told me it had blown, which made no sense because my rig is never loud enough to drive it that hard, (our band lets the pa do the work instead of blasting out from our backline)
so here i was once again with no talkbox and the bonjovi guys going mad because i was making do with a wah pedal, but one day i discovered a NEW talkbox called the SUPER TALKER, it looked and sounded fantastic, i noticed it wasn't as expensive as the FRAMTONE so once again i decided to save money and try it, but THIS time i wasnt taking ANY chances, so what i did was write an email to Wild Media Systems, Explaining EXACTLY what gear i have and EXACTLY how i set it up with the talkbox and i even illustrated with pictures (i still have the emails saved on my pc as proof!)
Anyway they were very friendly and explained that the way i set it all up was correct and i wouldn't have any problems, so with my mind put at ease i opted to buy the highest watt version they had which cost a little more but i thought it was better to be safe than sorry.
anyway when it arrived it looked great! i set it up and it sounded good as well, not as growly as the framtone but still a good talk box sound! and what i thought was great was the way it lets you have different tube sizes!
unfortunately though it only lasted for 15 gigs! before it suddenly stopped working, and remember its only used on 2 songs! (and not even the entire duration of those 2 songs i might add)
so i was devastated at this point!, i didnt know where to turn to for help, so in the end my fellow bandmates agreed to split the cost of a new FRAMTONE and so we did exactly that.
Anyway Its been Well over a year now that ive had the framtone and its been working perfectly, NEVER let me down, i guess in my attempt to save money i actually ended up costing myself a whole lot more!.......richie sambora himself uses these so i can only assume he had similar experiences

In response to the following review by Wayne and Dean, we would like to explain their dissatisfaction. The manual explains the use of the Super Talker plainly and clearly and even goes well beyond with hook-up diagrams and alternate configurations. The manual is useless only if one is unfamiliar with musical equipment or does not grasp the concept of the talkbox. These guys are the only customers we have had who have complained about the manual. If there were any specific items which needed clarification, we would review and correct them. Wayne and Dean provided us with no specifics.

Before purchasing the S.TALKER from us, Wayne had explained that Dean had some bad luck with other manufacturer's talkboxes in the past and that none of them performed well and eventually they all eventually failed. This leads one to believe that there may be a problem with their setup, not the talkboxes. We think that other manufacturer's make a decent product also and find it difficult to think that they are all bad.

The S.TALKER has proven to be one of the most durable on the market. We have an extremely happy customer base and some customers have purchased more than one. We have sold hundreds both here in the U.S. and hundreds overseas to customers in Japan, Germany, France, Great Britain, Austrailia and even Russia.

We have a policy of backing up our product. Although we haven't had to very often, we do offer to repair or replace under some obvious conditions. We will pay shipping both ways in the continental U.S. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to pay the shipping both ways for overseas orders, no one can. However, we did offer to pay a percentage if it was delivered to us and it was found to be defective.
The comment about paying for the repair was only a disclaimer that stated 'if it was an obvious case of misuse' such as dropping or having been taken apart and tampered with, we would not pay for it. We think this is a fair policy. Of course, if it was misused or tampered with, the customer will not appreciate this policy.

Er, you gotta be kidding me ?
done about 30 gigs with it, bought the super version which can "supposedly" handle 100 watts through it, i never drove it more than 50 watts as there is no need to, got to a gig one day plugged in as per usual, got 15 seconds into "Living On A Prayer" in front of a packed audience of 650 people with my Bon Jovi Tribute Band and the talkbox just died!!!!!!!

I had it set up and running in 10 minutes. Once it's hooked up there's only the bypass switch. Put the tube in you're mouth and start playi.....errrrr TALKING. It rocks. Takes a little practice but not hard to use at all. I was doing Joe Walsh type stuff in minutes.

Using with my 100 W H&K Duotone head and cab. Killer sound. I have been playing a long time and always wanted one of these but this is my first one. Wish I had it a long time ago! This thing has a lot of punch and a very full sound. I was gonna get one of the other units but I saw this on Ebay and thought it looked real interesting so I checked out the WMS website. Once I found out it was fused and heard the sound sample I said "That's the one for me!" and I'm glad I did.

Haven't gigged with it yet but I will be soon. Seems to be very well thought out and well constructed. A fuse. How come no one else does that? Different colors. Extra tubing. Seeing a pattern here? Mines Purple! Really cool looking. Also seems to handle high watt amps and heavy distortion very well.On top of all that it's cheaper then the other ones!

I play everything. I play in a wedding band that does everything from jazz to rock but I'm trying to start a classic rock band too.I will use the Super Talker for "Rocky Mountain Way"and I will finally gethe right sound. I will probably use it for a couple of other things and record with it too but anyway I'm very glad I got it. I think this is the best one out there, overall and at the best price.
