Volume, Gain, Treble, Bass - As easy as it gets.

Sound Quality : 10
Does not color or change your guitar sound in any way, shape or form unless you do so on purpose with the bass and treble controls. It has a smooth, natural overdrive that's very mild. You can thicken your tone with very nicely with this pedal. It's perfect for semi-clean sounds or just as a clean boost. Very high quality, true bypass, analog, boutique
pedal.

Reliability : 10
built solid.

I've been a professional guitarist for 35 years and this is as good as it gets for pure, clean boost without changing your guitar sound whatsoever. All my pedals are high quality expensive boutique pedals and nothing can beat the quality and richness of this one.

This is by far the most musical clean boost I have ever used. You get your tone but just louder. I use 100 watt Dumble clones so there is plenty of head room to push with a pedal without overdrive. I leave the overdrive to the amp.

I would of course get another if I had to. I play jazz, funk, and blues for the most part and this works well for having another level of volume when needed. I have been playing for around 20 years 10 of them professionally, gigging around 50 times a year. I have owned a fulltone fat boost, and several tube screamer type clean boost pedals and they all were very colored in comparison to the RC. Great pedal

Extremely easy.

It's quiet and very punchy. I actually wasn't very impressed when i first bought it. Recently I've used it more than any of my other OD pedals. i like it with 2 amps, the tone seems fuller that way, specially with 4x12 cabinets, 2x12 or 4x10 in at least one amp.

My favorite OD tone has come from amps. This box is definitely special.

Reliability : 10
It's very reliable. I keep a tube screamer in case something happens. So far it's been very solid.

Just start with all the knobs at twelve o'clock, and tweak them to your own choice. Not that difficult. My preference is Volume 10 o'clock, Gain 11 o'clock, Treble 12 o'clock and Bass 11 o'clock.
For me a killer tone.

This is where it stands out. It's really the best FX-pedal I had over the years. What does it do? It gives on a natural way a sort of more room on your sound. Not that much, but just enough - you'll here the difference right away. When I bought it, I put it on my rig, putted the RC on, and it never went out and never will. it's a part of my sound. I recommend the RC to everybody with ears, you'll won't be disappointed.

Reliability : 10
It's sturdy build. I won't use a backup.

Never dealt with them, but there site www.xotic.us is very nice.

I play guitar for 42 years (Am. Stratocaster/Marshall 4140-combo) and when you would ask me the keep just one fx of all the fx that I have - just ONE, then I would choose the RC Booster of XOTIC.
It makes your sound just that fraction bigger - it's comparible with a acoustic guitar. With a cheaper guitar, the sound stays inside the body / with a expensive guitar the sounds is in front outside the body, I feel the same with the RC.
And then to think that I know about the existance of XOTIC since about an half year - never heard of them before. They are becoming to get a new standard in FX.
Just try one! You won't regret it.

Well, where do I begin when this pedal? The xotic RC Booster... I did a lot of research on this pedal before I bought it. I never read one thing bad about this pedal, therefore, I thought there must be something about this pedal that was worth trying out. I had my first gig with this pedal last night. This pedal really amazes me, and now after using it in a live setting, i don't know if I could Play without. i know this pedal will be on my pedalboard for many years to come or until i hear something better. Right out of the box and plugged in, i got an awesome sound from this pedal. It doesn't come with a manual, but I don't think you need one anyways, pretty straight forward, just use your ears and your sure to find great tones with this pedal. I bought the one with the led light right at the top of the pedal. I heard that the one with the light located near the bottom above the name had bad off/on switches on them, and the one with on top were good. No problems yet but I only had the pedal for a week now.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100watt amplifier(using clean channel) best sounding clean channel I ever heard on a marshall. My guitar setup is:

Fender Stratocaster
Gibson les paul Standard

effects chain: Tuner>Dunlop Wah>Boss Blues driver "the whizzer Mod">Brent Mason Hot Wired(wampler pedals)>RC Booster> Boss DD-7 delay> (and soon to be)On order now: Wampler AnalogEcho dalay. I sometimes use a marshall Blues Breaker 2 in the chain as well.

The Rc booster is killer with my tube amp and it add a certain "Magic" to the overall sound. This pedal is dead quiet on all settings. i use it to get a slightly broken up clean sound, and also a boost pedal for solos. This is probably the nicest pedal I ever owned. The hot wired brent mason is very nice as well. The rc booster is great for getting that clean/dirty hendrix, SRV sound. The sound is very full, and it does something special for my amp unlike any pedal I ever had plugged into it. I put all my effects through the clean channel on my amp. This pedal will do wonders for your solo sound! It will make you wanns solo all night. I have a wireless connection that I use sometimes. Last night, i stepped off the stage during "Little Wing" and went out from in the bar to hear the sound...wow! I was amazed how it improved my tone, very smooth lead sounds, and it cuts through the mix excellent. A few guitarist that use this in their setup are: Brad paisley, brent mason, Scott henderson. Exotic pedals are use by a lot of top guitarist, and I know why now after using it live. It is very sensitive to pick attack and if you dig in you can get some bight and dirt and if you soften up it sounds cleaner. I listened to all the demos on youtube and was in awe. This is a pedal i would recommend on everyone's pedalboard. Have to give it a 10 beacause i havn't heard better than this, After listening to the keeley katanna I would rather the RC booster. Although both are awesome, The Rc booster I liked more, just personal taste.

Reliability : 10
No problems with it yet. Seems to be well built. I'm pretty careful with my pedals and i don't give them a hard goin'. I have a lot of faith in this little sucker. We are bonding....(laugh)

I play Blues, rock, country, and metal sometimes in a cover band. this pedal is usable for all musical styles in my opinion. i've been playing guitar for 23 years now, i wish I had this pedal years ago. I thinking of buying another one or the AC booster so i can leave it on all the time. It's true, once you get use to having the pedal on..when you turn it off , it seems like somethings missing, it crazy. this pedal will spoil you. Go on youtube and listen to some booster pedals, i guarantee you will find this pedal to be a great sounding pedal. I so glad i have one, In a way I want to not tell people about it in my home town beacause i want to be the guy with the great tone..haha! i want to keep it my little white secret. haha! You have to try one to really understand what it can do for your sound. i've heard they even sound great on solid state amps as well. and single coil and humbucker pickups work great with this pickup, you can you it as a slight overdrive with humbuckers if you like, sounds great.

This pedal sounds awesome! It's very easy to get a good sound out of it. There is no manual but you don't need one. Just plug it in and use your ears. I can't get a sound out of it that I don't like. Amazing!

I mainly play a Carvin Bolt. My pedal board is a Ernie Ball Volume pedal, Line 6 Echo Park and Verbzilla, Boss Chorus, RC Booster, Fulltone FullDrive 2 , Boss TU-2, and a Pedal Power Plus to power everything. The pedal is very quiet. I use it powered by a Pedal Power Plus. I have never used batteries so, I don't know how that would go. I usually play through a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue but, I've just started using a Magnatone 213 Troubadour. The sound is great through both amps. I use it a couple of different ways. 1) to boost my signal; 2) to add a little "umph" to my FullDrive 2 or 3) to cut through the mix when using a clean sound. IT can brighten or darken your sound by adjusting the treble and bass knobs.

Reliability : 10
I would use it on a gig because I have other pedals that could get me through, if this failed. I don't think that will ever be a problem. The more I use this pedal, the more useful sounds I find. I've heard other people say this, but if I could only have one pedal, this would be it. This would be my "desert island" pedal.

I mainly do worship at my church. It's a very good match for the sound I'm going for. I've been playing for over 40 years. I have (or have had) too much stuff to mention. If it were stolen, I would definitely replace it. I love that I haven't heard a bad sound out of it yet. I've had pedals that sound great at home but never work at the gig. This pedal never has that problem. Though I love my Fulltone pedal, it sounds weak in comparision to the RC. It makes every guitar sound better and it never gets in the way. It's tranparent... just improves your good sound. I was a little reluctant to purchase it because it's a little spendy. However, after using it, I'm thinking of getting an AC Booster and maybe losing the Fulltone.

Rarely have I used a pedal that is as functional as this one. Every control, including gain, volume, treble and bass are prominent and completely usable. Its incredibly easy to get a good sound out of this thing, and many sounds at that. It also features the option of using an external power supply, which at home I do.

For me, this pedal is much more than a clean boost. Its an EQ pedal, light distortion box and more.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm playing this mainly with a Gibson SG Sup, through a Mesa DC-5 head and Madison 2x12 cabinets. Although im not huge on effects and pedals, this one I find the most usable, in the most situations. the RC Booster = one word: VERSATILE. Virtually all styles of music and creative tone seeking could benefit from this. Its great, and I often leave it on all the time. As I mentioned before, its really an all in one pedal, usable as an EQ shaper (treble, bass), distotrion pedal and boost. For years I was trying different distortion pedals, trying to nail what the RC does for me easily. I liked my amps distortion, but I needed something to push it to the edge. Something to add more grit, kick it into overdrive and make it scream. The RC Booster does this.

The EQ controls are very functional and sound good and relevant at most settings. I prefer to have the treble just a bit past 12 o clock, and the base flat at zero. The only reason I can't give it a 10 is because the bass is really boomy when turned past 1-2 oclock, and when combined with the volume boost is a bit out of control, since the volume boost fattens up the tone as it is. That is not to say the bass control is bad, it seems to be a little less usable than the treble control. It very much depends on your rig as well!

The pedal sounds very clean, with little to no noise, and is true bypass. My signal sounds just as clean with it on, as it does with it off!

Reliability : 9
At this stage I can say it seems very dependable. I've yet to gig with it, but I would feel confident without a backup. The controls all feel of a quality make and turn smoothly, and the chassis is strong.

I've not had to deal with Xotic yet so I cannot say!

Overall Rating : 10
I could see how this pedal is usable for ANY style of music. It is incredibly versatile and you can dial in so many different tones.... you could play with this thing for hours/days on end! I play mainly hard rock, to industrial, metal, and experimental rock and find that this is almost like having another channel on my amp.

I love that it has EQ controls to shape the tone a bit further, and the fact that it can be used as a distortion pedal with the gain cranked. It adds just enough grit of a clean nature to be considered so. I can honestly say theres nothing this pedal doesn't have that it should. It truly has it all :) Its a little pricey, but good pedals with true bypass are. GO GET ONE.

Very easy to use. Two active EQ's-treble and bass, gain and volume. Use either battery or ac.

Sound Quality : 10
Amazing is all I can say. It's on all of the time in my rig now. When they say it's transparent and true by-pass they mean it. There's not allot of gain on this pedal. It just adds a little grit and that's all with the gain all of the way up. This pedal not only adds a 20 db boost but also something else and it's hard to explain. It's makes the sound fuller, not just louder, but fuller with some sparkle and this is on both single coils and humbuckers. I usually don't rave about pedals, and I have some good ones, but this is an exceptional pedal.

Reliability : 9
Very good design and construction. The only thing I don't like is that the ac input is on the lower left side instead of on the top. Switches and pots seem solid.

Customer Support : 9
Haven't had to call them but they did reply promptly to an email that I sent them prior to buying.

Overall Rating : 10
Do yourself a favor and give one of these a try. It really adds to your tone. I actually have a second one on order for a different rig.

P90's/PAF's into single channel tube amps. I had the AC booster for some time and finally ditched it because it sounded slightly too compressed and midrangy for my taste. That means lower midrange, kind of fat that sometimes can be desireable, sometimes not. I am glad that I finally tried the RC and immediately bought it. Nice, quite transparent boost with bass/treble e.q. and even capable of some nice grit for blues/jazz that works very well in tandem with amp saturation. The e.q.'s can be cut or boosted and I quite like the treble tone the RC adds. Much better for my money than the AC.

Reliability : No Opinion
I really liked the smaller toggle switch on the AC I had some time ago. It worked great, made less switching noise and always was reliable. They switched to a more robust looking switch here, and I will have to edit the switching clicks out of quiter passages in recordings again, too bad.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
Great pedal, a little overpriced. Guess they make us pay for all those propaganda videos. But what a great, transparent and versatile pedal in a small, lightweight package. What's left to be desired? Some more clean boost level (and I mean really clean here). Great pedal anyway.

This is an extremely easy to use pedal. Very straightforward. EQ, Volume settings and gain.

Sound Quality : 10
Ok well right now I am using a PRS custom 24 through a swart atomic space tone with a variety of effects. (delays, fuzz etc)

The pedal is not noisy at all.

Keeping the gain off simply brings out the best in my amp but louder with more clarity. Start driving up the gain - ohhhh man it is tone heaven. just a sweet gain, very harmonically rich and musical. not overdrive gain though. just preamp gain. I love it!

Reliability : 9
Seems very well built, dont see a need for a backup, I take good care of my stuff. But if it were thrown down the stairs I think it would be just fine.

Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
Well I shift between rock and hard rock and this pedal is perfectly suited to my style and tones. I have been playing for about 13 years now, and other than my PRS I have also tried my Tele rodded with Suhr pickups and wow this combo just sounds insanely good. If it were lost I would buy another immediately.

My favorite feature of this pedal is the EQ. It is excellent. Other pedals (such as the Keeley Katana boost) do not have eq controls.

This thing really complements my amp as the Swart is extremely touch sensitive and the RC booster brings it up several notches. pick lightly and you have lovely clean and attack a bit more for some sweet sounding grit. Again, this is not an overdrive pedal. I highly recommend this!!
