Two knobs, depth and speed. It can't get any easier than that. So I'd give it a ten for that. There is a Direct out for stereo-connection on top of it as well. I have never used that since I have never owned two amps .
The only problem with it is that it only runs on batteries. It has some kind of strange six pin power adapter thing on the top of it. I've never seen anything like it before. So you can't connect a usual power adapter to it which is a drag. It doesn't "eat" batteries -but hey once in a while you must change 'em!And you'd rather connect with a power adapter to your other pedals. That's probably why I stopped using it live.

You'll get a very godd eighties vibe out of this sweetie. Think The Police in "Message in abottle". It's got a very sweet analogue tone. Works pretty good with at the Tele which is my main guitar. When you turn the knobs upp full it can sound VERY strange -perfect for those mystical "trippy" musical passages. The Chorus combined with a mild dist can give you very nice Pink Floyd sounds.

Reliability : 10
It's very solidly built with a steel chassis. I've been gigging with it for 15 years and never experienced any trouble with it.An yes, every one of these years without a backup

Have never needed it.

I actually have two of these! So greetings to down under . You are not alone! I've required these two from friends over the years who got tired of 'em. I think he used one of 'em for his keyboard.

This is I believe a late 70's to early 80's Yamaha Chorus pedal made in Japan. I believe this pedal to be analog also due to it's age. Getting a good sound is very easy as it has Speed and Depth controls and thats all. The unit has an input, output and a direct out for stereo. An odd feature of this unit is that where the 9 Volt adaptor port would be on most pedals there is a strange port with a 6 fingered prong...it looks to me like some kind of early MIDI interface? I have never seen anything like this on an old analog pedal.

The unit was bought second hand and had no manual but you know you don't need one with Chorus. The switch is very heavy and solid, the controls for Speed and Depth are very positive and solid in their glide and carry. The entire pedal is very solidly built and comfirms the quality of workmanship by the Yamaha company at this time.

I'll skip my set up it's irrelevent. The pedal is not noisy at all and I have not noticed any loss of tone that should not be asociated with the effect when engaged. On the contrary the chorus on this can go from quite light and airy to thick and vibratoey. I was really impressed by the thickened chorus tone that was added to my guitar signal and there is allot of room for different sounds when mixing the speed and depth knobs.

I found I could get a beautiful Leslie vibe from the pedal through to a slightly detuned and whoozy tone. I tried this unit with a Marshall Guvnor 1 and a DD-20 set for tape echo and the guitar was breaking into really sweet harmonics enriched by the chorus' natural enhancement. Killer Chorus and the best I've ever heard.

This thing is built very solidly and I can't foresee any hassles even though it's about 20 years old! I'd gig without back up, sure.

If lost or stolen I would try to find another, this thing is too cool. The shape and wedged style of the unit is very retro and happening. I just love the analog vibe and the mojo it carried, I scored it cheap off ebay and I have yet to find any evidence of this pedal ANYWHERE on the internet. Infact I believe that this will be the first review of this old rare pedal online anywhere.

Awesome pedal and a total sleeper. Nobody knows how good old Yammy pedals are... until now. ;)
