Ease of Use

4 button, 1 footswitch, 1 DC 9v input jack Yammy Flanger (pretty much the same as the FL-01 model but with the 9v jack added). Easy to get through, but I give a 9 because if you are new to flanger effects you'll take quite a while to get the desired sound. Bought it used then there was no manual but just mess with the controls and you'll figure it out. The unit seems to be old, no idea when it was manufactured, maybe somewhere around the early '90s.

Great effect like any other Yamaha. I play basses and guitars through it and it really shines whenever I kick it on. Mainly, I use as a regular flanger for bass and as a chorus for guitar. You can get a cool chorus and it will go all the way up to crazy flanging effects! (beware of the feedback knob, the more you dial it in the more you get the chopping, helicopter kinda sound). Not noisy at all, either on or off.

Built like a tank, made in Japan. It'll never break.

I'm an usual buyer of Yamaha products (pedals, basses, keyboards, headphones...) but never had to deal with them.

I've been playing for 13+ years and this effect really stands out from other flanger units. Sounds almost like it is totally analog; it self-oscillates like some sort of a moog effect (it is not at all like some shallow modern flangers). Would definitely buy another if it got lost, but I regret it wouldn't be possible because this one is very hard to find.
