The control knobs have uncommon titles, as were written before. In many other pedals knobs have special order: level, equalizer and gain. Everything the same in 7000 Volt: current (level), life (bass), shock (middle), death (high) and voltage (gain). Without instruction it will be a bit problematic, but from other side it looks cool. It is not comfortable to change battery. You need to unscrew back pannel, what could be a problem if you don't have screwdriver, knife, metalic ruler or anything else, if battery suddenly die.

I heared some pedals, which were advertised like high gain, but indeed give you a very weak sound, even they were plugged in quite brutal amp. 7000 Volt has nothing similiar to them. I played it in Vox AD15 and Vox AD50, it gives good sound for modern death or thrash metal. In Crate VTX212B it sounded very brutal. The whole sound have much similiar with Digitech Death Metal. I 4 main diffirences whick I'd like to mention:
1. Feedback. It seems to be quite big problem with Digitech Death Metal without noise gate. I did not have such problem on 7000 Volt even then I was standing too close to amp, I easily muted it with hand.
2. Equalizer. I like much more Death Metal's EQ, it has more way to adjust. I could get a cosmic sound if set the middle all the way up. In 7000 Volt there is no such diffirence in sound between opposite knob adjustments. But I think it is not a real problem.
3. Gain. Where is no such knob in Death Metal.
4. The price. 7000 Volt is twice times cheaper than Death Metal, but it sounds much better.

Reliability : 10
I bought it about two years ago. Did not used any other distortion. It still perfectly works.

Good for high gain styles of music like thrash, death, black or something like this. I think it complete useless for playing some Iron Maiden-like melodies, but heavy metal riffs sounded good (for example main riffs from Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight or Accept - Balls To The Wall). I play it through Vox 15AD with this adjustments: bass - 10.5, middle - max, high - 1.5, gain - 12. This sound reminds me the sound, which was on Exodus - Another Lesson In Violence and Tempo Of The Damned.

This is a fairly basic distortion pedal, with cool knobs entitled 'life' & 'Death' for Bass & Treble eq'ing respectively. As distortion/overdrive pedals go you get a lot of knobs for tweaking

Sound Quality : 10
Okay-the sounds, firstly this pedal is very verstile; in that, you can dial in some super sounds, my perferences would be heavier music & this baby nials those tones, in fact the one weird thing this pedal does is that it adds a spatial dimention to the guitar tone. I know that probably sounds strange - but when switched on - the sound of the guitar through an amp sounds huge, monster - epic even! Its quiet when both switched on & off, & very easy to use. I have about 3 dist. pedals & to be honest I like them all for their various tonal charachteristics, this ones a peach!

Reliability : No Opinion
haven't had it very long to know- it look robust & is Russian made- which gives it some coolness

Customer Support : No Opinion
Again- if something goes wrong I wont be sending it to Russia I'll be going back to the dealer with whom the contract was made- that's a funny thing about this site- noramlly people freak-out about certan manufacturers - when in fact they should be dealing with the point of sale!

Overall Rating : 10
Overall - buy it or any of its brethern, I'd say going by this one its a killer pedal & great value indeed!
I love this thing, but as I've said I have about 15 effects pedals - they all have differnt jobs, but this one does its task with aplomb! (that's great btw)
