editing takes a bit of getting used to. this is quite surprising to me since i've had a zoom 2020 for quite some time before i bought this product. you'd think that the 707 would be as simple if not easier to edit than the older 2020. the knobs do make it easier to scroll through parameters though

Sound Quality : 6
pretty good. i use a variety of guitars, none of which are really expensive, and i can manage to get almost any sound i want

Reliability : 6
i wouldn't bring this to a rowdy gig. it'll probably last a long time if i just keep it at home

Overall Rating : 6
sounds good for most musical styles, i play almost any type of music,
it would probably be better if it had more foot pedals

Easy to use, but only once you know what your doing. The very good manual helps you on your way to programming it nicely. READ THE MANUAL, it makes things a lot easier. All the bits and buttons can be a bit daunting at first.

Sound Quality : 7
Most people in this forum are saying that the effects arent very good.
I have to agree, but they are definitlty good enough for any beginner.
Also, everyone is saying the distortions are horrible - NOT ENTIRLY TRUE. The people who say this have obviously not tweaked there machines enough. Some very nice, though noisy, distortions can be created.

There are also lots of other little effect: none which are great, some which are useless, but some which can be a bit of fun.

I give this 7 but only for the distortions (which I personnaly tweaked). If it wasnt for them I'd give it 5.

Reliability : 5
It plastic with lots of buttons.....

What more can I say?

Customer Support : No Opinion
Sorry, but Ive never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 7
If you are a beginner as I was when I bought it, I suggest you at least take a look. I believe it is easily (from what i've seen) the best multi effects pedal on the market for its price, though I would suggest trying it out first. If your not into lots of strange little effects and want a great sound get singular pedals. The Gfx707 is not really a serious multi effects pedal but it gave me and my friend hours of fun when we were both beginners.

Try before you buy.

PS. The better amp you have the better this sounds.

For profesionals change this score to 5..

It takes a while to get a good sound from the 707, a lot of twaeking is required for the distortion/equaliser to get decent distorted FX.
easy to edit patches, the manual is helpful and clear except for the bit about the expression pedal envelopes, they use some daftarse diagrams that mean nuttn.

Sound Quality : 6
I use epiphone SG custom (3 humbuckers) i usually use it with all 3 to get a fat sound when using just amp distortion and FX from the 707, but when i use the distortion on the GFX it is best to use a trebly sound. I use a peavy 100w. I would give it a 9 for all effects except for the distortion which isnt good at all.
the zoom noise reduction is useful but sometimes it causes a big loss in sustain.

Reliability : 8
i would rely on this but i would only use it in an FX loop and use it for only clean fx, taking the distortion from the amp. this means if it suddenly goes tits up i can flick back quickly to the amp totally so it doest make much diffrence. I have used it for about a year and it seems to me pretty solid even though it is only made of plastic. The expression pedal, surprisingly, id solid too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : No Opinion
i play a wide variety of music. its handy because of the variety, the accoustic sound is one of the best ive heard and the phasing effect is good if used with amp distortion.
i been playing about 2 1/2 yrs.
i would buy a GFX-8 if it got stolen or snapped, its a little more money but more pro.

This thing is pretty easy to use. You should really read the manual first for creating your own patches but the manual is helpful.

Sound Quality : 8
Ok i use a cheap strat copy worth #140 and some cheap ass amp. And I reckon my zoom gfx 707 stills sounds pretty kool. My fav sound is the V Halen one. I use that for playing the solo for 'One' by Metallica. Sounds quite like it to me. Autowah sucks. The pedal wah sounds ok. The unit does for what i need it for.

Reliability : 6
Well i dont know, ive only had it a week or so. like many people say it is plastic and ive never tried it with shoes on. Also the expression pedal sometimes stops working when I'm in the middle of a solo or something which would really suck on stage so Id use it but id only use effects where the expression pedal aint needed.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed it although I feel i mite at some point.

Overall Rating : 8
ok i play metal/grunge/indie. i have been playing a year. it is the only effects thingy that i own. id probably buy something else first or at least try a few similarly priced products first. i like some of the sounds, like echos and stuff. the sampler thing sucks rectum. i wish it had better wah and a better smooth distortion noise to sound like slash (guns n roses) or kirk hammett (metallica). well it helps me make music i guess, in some ways. I'd recommend it to a beginner like me but if u have more cash either buy separate pedals or a better fx unit.

It's easy to use, just read the manual, you will have it down in a few hours.

Sound Quality : 2
As far sound goes overall it's total crap, the amp models are terrible, the distortion is terrible, auto wah is useless. I will say that the delay is ok though, not great just ok. I ran it through a line 6 2x10 spider on the clean channel only.

Reliability : 4
It's reliable in my bedroom, that's about as far as I would take it though. This thing isn't made to gig with, it's made for beginner players that don't know what good tone sounds like.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't know, don't care, I will never buy zoom again.

Overall Rating : 2
I play metal, classical, blues. I've been playing for 13 years on and off. I didn't play for a few years and only bought this thing because I needed something basic to get me back into playing. I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone thinking about becoming a serious musician. Since I started playing again I have fallen in love with the guitar all over again and have purchased a mesa triple rectifer a Jackson USA select soloist and a les paul studio gem with P-90's I learned that if you want to find a truly great tone you have to spend some money, but good tone is everthing.

It is rather easy to use. I bought it off a friend so I didn't get an instuction manuel. Patches-well, if I knew what a patch was and how to edit them, I would review those. The knobs turn easily and you can get some rather interesting effects. I think it is pretty good.

Sound Quality : 9
Personally, I really think the distortion is pretty crappy. I have another pedal for dist. so I use that. I noted interesting effects. I have found that the acoustic 12 string effect is a lot better than say a Boss acoustic simulator. If I really tried, I could get the sound of some of the good artists. Other than the distortion, I think the effects are really good.

Reliability : 10
It is dependable but since I can't edit it yet so it will take a while to change between effects. Since effects tend to get expensive, gigging without a backup is really a matter of weather you think you can do it or not. Personlly, I'd say yes.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 9
For the style of music I play (metal, hard rock) I'd say yes. If lost or stolen, I would pay for a new one. This pedal has a lot of cool effects so you can really get some awesome sounds out of it. I do wish it had a better wah sound. This is the only effects that is worse than the distortion. Luckly for me, I have a wah pedal that compensates for the other. Like I said, overall, I'd say a decent pedal. By the way, if anyone has a copy of the instruction manuel, please e-mail me. I would like a copy so I can figure it out fully.

What can i say, it's really easy to get the sounds you want. Editing patches are easy...really easy. The manual ? I never read the manual. It's so easy, by trial and error you will get the sounds u really want.

Sound Quality : 8
I play mostly fusion, jazz and funk, little rock and rarely metal, i would say the sounds work fine, even for jamming with friends or hell i use it for performances as well. Though the clean sounds are a little crappy i would say, even a 505 can give me better clean sounds. Others are great, with a few adjustments, of course.

Reliability : 7
I have no complains about it. Because i don't really kick the pedals hard, maybe because i play soft music and all. I can't afford a back-up just yet, but it works well for me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
NO comment on this one

Overall Rating : 8
Like i said earlier, i play fusion, funk, some jazz, rock and things like that and been playing for 4 years and owned this pedal quite recently. Stolen ? erm, GFX4 is my next choice. This pedal offers me very good tones and sounds, but i hate the clean tones really ! And the expression pedal is not up to my expectations. It did help me to produce some nice tones and was surprised myself that there is quite a smiliarity. :-) . I think it has a good price tag, and would recommend it for practice use or some small performances on decent music. If u play metal and all, you'll break it !

In a word it's ok. Not more not less. After a while you get into it and creating effects that you want is no problem.
At first it's a bit confusing though.

Sound Quality : 7
First i thought it sounds like shit but when you tweak a bit you'll get quite nice sounds.
But you it has not been made for professional use.
I mean you can use it to jam with some friends but in a studio you gotta find something else

Reliability : 1
My zoom gfx707 worked correctly for about 2 weeks.
Then the output jack broke and i wasn't able to fix it.
Now i have to kick it every once a while to make it work.
That's quite annoying and of course now i can't use it for a gig.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 4
If it wouldn't be made out of plastic and if it hadn't this output jack problem it would probably be something useful.
But it's a POS!

To get this pedal up and running the way you want it to, you absolutely MUST look through the manual once or twice. Due to the small amount of controls it has, tweaking effects gets kind of messy at times.

Sound Quality : 7
You can get some pretty good sound outof this thing. Butonly if you tweak the shit out of it! All the factory presets, like most pedals, suck a bit. But like I said, the right amount of tweaking and you're fine! Auto wah is garbage, and the fading effects aren't great. delay isn't bad. There are some pretty cool effects on the unit. It's not great for recording! a lot of hiss and stuff, even while on record mode. The amp models are crap! I play with an Ibanez RG270 with modified bridge and pickups, my practice amp is a Peavey Audition 110, on stage Peavey 5150 II. Through the practice amp... It sounds like shit for the most part... and well just about anything sounds good through the 5150II but this pedal still doesn't give professional sounding effects. The Zoom Noise Reducer (ZNR) (noise gate) works well. Expression pedal isa bit stiff but I think that's adjustable.

Reliability : 8
I haven't had any problems... Keeping in mind it's maximum capablities/limits, it's well reliable forwhat it does.

Customer Support : 5
Ichecked out the zoom site... They didn't give an excessive amount of imformation to help me out with some function questions. They do have downloads of the manuals though. I've never had any big problems to need costumer support for though.

Overall Rating : 6
I play mostly Vai, Petrucci, Satch style stuff. This pedal is not too horrobly bad at mocking their sounds but for the most part this pedal is only good for all the basic stuff... If you want good sounding/crazy effects and hard ass ripping distortions and sweet and beautiful clean sounds.... Sorry my friend... This isn't what you're looking for!
