Getting a good sound from the 707 is easy, its pretty simple to muck around with. The whole editing patches is easy without referring to the manual.

I use this with a typical marshall stack and BCRich warlock. All of the effects are great, except one. The distortion. Now, you can get an almost noiseless great sounding distortion from this pedal, but it lacks the beefiness. this is not good for me cos i play metal and punk music.

Well, its annoying having to switch through the patches, and the distortion is thin. It lacks the nice beefy distortion you like with things like rage, metallica, greenday. allsorts. but, it worked great with me, i had it for a year. Im upgrading to a gfx4 now, hope its good...

The selection pedals are comfortable and positive. I wish the drum-effects start-stop button were operable with the foot- this would be a major advance. The biggest 'plus' I noticed is I can plug headphones straight into the peadal- not having to use an amp.-- Very attractive for late-night playing.

I use a Fender Stratocaster with Peavy amp (15w). Noise is not a problem. I wish the volume levels of patches were more adjustable. There are great sound level differences when switching from one patch to another.

This pedal is quite easily the easiest I've ever had to use. The patches are pre programed, so you don't have to edit them; very good if you want that 'Plug in and Play' factor. But this pedal is far from simple, each patch is fully customiseable, either by using the 'quick controls' to alter levels to effects like Gain, Reverb, Chorus and Vibrato. This is very handy, especially if you want to temporarilly edit a patch during a preformance very quickly. For those with very specific needs, it is possible to create patches from scratch. This is not simple, but with a little help from the manual it isn't too bad. The manual its self is pretty easy to understand, as it uses simple language rather than technical jargon. Some veteran guitarists may find themselves skipping through the basic functions to get to the more complicated features like the sampler function and the 'Jam Play' function.

I've tried this pedal with many setups, from my small Fender Frontman 50w amp, using it to record with an AKAI digital 12 track recorder (using the line out function), using it with a Marshalls (Valvestate?) 100w combo amp, using it with a carlsbro (don't ask me what) 200w multi purpose amp, and finally with a Marshalls Valvestate 500w stack. The sound is always crystal clear and brilliant. The ZOOM NOISE REDUCTION means that feedback from high gain effects is virtually a thing of the past. The effects themselves are remarkably varied, from a 12 string acoustic simulator, to a bluesey style, from a highly destorted feedback generator, to an oldschool funk sound, this pedal has it all. No one guitarist could ever need all of these patches, so it's usually a good idea to customise your user definable patches so that you have all of your sounds together. An all round stunner.

This is very reliable, save for one great flaw: it eats batteries by the truckload. Definately one to use mains supply for, otherwise you could find yourself up the creek without a paddle. If you absolutely positively definately must have it powered by batteries, use a fresh set every time. This could cost alot in AA batteries, especially if you gig alot. It is, however reliable enough to use without a backup; just spare batteries :?)

I play alot of punk rock, but I also play most varieties of rock, except for Neu Metal (SLIPKNOT SUCK!!!!). It's an excellent match, because the very varied 707 can't be faulted for it's versitality. I've been playing about 4 years (yup, a newbie) but I've never had anything with such a variety of sounds and a versitality in its features. An absolute stunner, quite simply brilliant.

Pretty good. The analogue dials are an interesting idea and work very well if you just want to crank up the gain. they can get a bit tedious when doing for complicated stuff though. I picked up the patch editing pretty quick.

OUTSTANDING noise reduction. Slightly lacking in the distortion dept but better than my amp. I'm using a squier strat and if i was going to inprove the quality i'd have to replace that first.

Easy as breathing to use. Just step on the patches to select a track, step on both of them to turn the effect off. Really cool! I haven't had a go at editing it yet, but ZOOM aren't known for being too difficult to use. Compared to most effects processors, this is as easy to use as any stompbox, only with more sounds at your disposal!

The distorion setting range from the very good to the very muddy, so you may want to find another pedal for distorion (I recommend the Jeykal + Hyde. Read my review about it) or use the gain from your amp. However, the effects are just blinding! They sound cleaner and more powerful than any effects pedals i have ever used. THe wah may not be to everyones taste, but the footswitch can also act as a volume pedal.
Right now i run this thing though a practice amp. (I leave my main amp in teh studio when i play with my band), but it sounds really good. I've now sold off all my other pedals because of this thing. IT also has a built in drum machine. how cool is that?

For those of you who read my eariler reviews about stompboxes, you can forget all about that now. I have fallen in love with this little box, next to my Whammy pedal, i just couldn't live without it. What i like is that it's so easy to carry! BEfore i had to just bung all my pedals in a bag and carry them, now i don't have that problem! I would certainly buy another one if i lost this. Its has somehting here for anyone. So go on! Buy one at your nearest store now! GO ON! BUY IT NOW!!!! NOW!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, don't know what came over me....

I suppose it's pretty easy to use ...as digitally programmed devices go. The Zoom GFX707 has a great lit display and you can label patches for easy recognition! A great sounding but very simple rhythm unit. Lots of effects for a rather bargain price. I like the dials that allow you to modify your patches quickly in live situations. I switched to this unit from Korg's AX1-G which has has no rhythm unit and a display which is not lit. I got tired of bending over to see what effect was called up.

If you're into rocky distortion sounds, you've hit a garden full! Other stuff is nice too; I really like the chorus. I mostly run it through the church P.A. It has a setting for using it through a sound system but frankly, I can't notice any difference in the sound or performance regardless of which setting it's on. Handy adaptor/battery options for power and those AA size batteries are a fairly economical size compared with the little rectangular 9-volt jobs. The pitch function is a bummer when set to produce an octave below the guitar note. It's ok on high notes but look out if you go lower! It makes a beating/fluttering effect that ruins the octave stuff. Sounds like maybe that bottom note isn't quite in tune. Can't Zoom tweak that to make it useful? I'm starting to regret selling my Korg AX1-G. The effects were just as good and that octave effect *worked*!
It would have been nice to get a "pushed" tube sound or a milder distortion effect, but all the distortions are pretty hard sounding.
The AA batts get used up within 14 hours according to the manual, but I used NiCad rechargeables and they died within about 3 to 4 hours. I bought some of the new rechargeables made with NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) and they should last better I'm told. Review It's a pretty good deal generally. My disappointment is because the octave effect is one that I was looking forward to, and it seems to be the one that doesn't work very well. I'm still looking/watching for a fix for it.

The plastic seems fairly tough and I'm not expecting any problems with reliablility. I've had the unit for about a month but my pal has had a couple of them for about a year without reliability problems.

I emailed Samsontech a day or two ago at 'support@samsontech.com' about the crummy octave performance on lower notes but no reply so far. It's still a little early to know whether they'll be helpful or even respond.

This pedal is fairly easy to operate. The manual is pretty self explanatory. While it is true that some of the patches are pointless..the guys at ZOOM figured not everyone would like them so they gave the option to modify them and store them. So there just demo effects.

Ive used several other pedals and with this one i find it has good noise reduction. Most of the time i run it into a 32-channel Mackie mixer and it has very good sound. For smaller gigs I run it through a Crate brain stacked with 2 15"s.

I play everything from slow songs..to hard rock. I find it useful to play in pretty much any style you desire. Since you can create up to 30 effects you thought up. The only thing I wish was better..was the sampler, its too short. But I bought it for gigs...so I dont really need it because we have other players.
