The knobs are easy!
And the only easy thing in it...

Sound Quality : 1
I'm using marshall vs 20w, marshall vs 100 and Washburn mercury, Custom strat.
Where should I start.. Distortion, fuzz and overdrive?!?!? They SUCK!!!!! I hate them! They are so weak and bzz! bzz!
I have tried to tweak it for hours... for nothing!
Clear sound is good, but when you play with our band, it's like: where's the sound? boo.. boo.. chorus is average... but all the others are very very bad!!!

Reliability : 1
I have used it for gig! It was terrible...
We were playing Steve Vai's songs like animal and others...
Sound was like porrage...

I (try) play Steve Vai/Satriani/Kotzen style of proge-rock!
It makes me laugh when someone asks: can get somekind of VAI sound out of it?
I have been playing 5years! I have played with different amps and pedals, 707 is a nightmare!

I want to trash it!!!!!

It isn't too difficult to get a good sound right away, unless you're abslolutely tone deaf in which case you shouldn't even be playing guitar!

Sound Quality : 10
I've used the Pandora PX3 and alot of stomp box pedals, and the GFX-707 tops them all! Those who say the distortion sounds "buzzy" or whatever either (1) have cheap shitty guitars and amps or (2) couldn't get a decent sound if they were playing through Metallica's rig! The distortion sounds very, very good and I still use it sometimes through my Marshall JCM. Zoom does have a great reputation, with guys like Richie Sambora and Iron Maiden using them, so that has to say something for the company.

Reliability : 7
Would get a top score if it were made of metal. The plastic has a feel like it could break during a solo or some other embarassing moment.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt w/ them yet!

Overall Rating : 10
Compared to similar units, this one is definitely top of the heap!

It can seem pretty hard to get the exact sound from it at the beginning, but after some time you get used to it and it becomes easy. The manual is good, which is very important since it's nearly impossible to understand what to do without it. The patch editing is enough easy not to get stuck but enough complex to get a good sound. That's also very important because most of ZOOM's patches suck, and the most needed patches are located very far from each other

Sound Quality : 9
As I said, ZOOM's patches suck. You can get pretty good sound from it even without editing, but if you create your patches - the sound quality is up to your skills as a patch editor. The EQ, NR and Amp Simulator are good; so are those modules like Distortion, Chorus, Echo, Acoustic Simulator etc. The only problemis, there are too many things to do. I have a Strat, and it seems to sound good with this processor. With the Slow Attack module I can create really scaring sounds, and if I set Gain of the distortion to max it sounds really heavy.

Reliability : 10
It's plastic, but I don't think it isn't dependable. I mean, if you use it right. It's made for sound processing, not for breaking stones with it. As far as gigging is concerned, I can say that it IS dependable enough for live use, since I do use it onstage.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
I'm a good guitarist with a bad guitar (however, I plan to upgrade to something like ESP V-250 soon), but this thing makes me sound like one with good guitar. I play different music, from Pink Floyd to Metallica style. It matches my style really good, and much better than stompboxes do - because I need to use really many stompboxes to get the same sound as from the GFX-707. Maybe I'd consider upgrading to GFX-8 sometime, but for now I'm satisfied with what I have.

pretty easy, takes a lot of reading and i dont like reading. after that its simple. easy to configure and move. But once you move it, the thing you place it over is lost.

Sound Quality : 9
phew! vhalen (great Metallica type distortion), strt (SRV type dist,), hvycmp (clean sound that just rings), pedwah (wah-wah could be better), zlead (dist with chorus) all great.

Reliability : 6
problem with the jack.

I play metal and the pedal is just great for solos and rythms alike. It wouldnt be stolen cuz whoever would be doin the stealing would see my guitar (Carvin DC-127) and go straight for that or my amp (1984 Hiwatt) too.

Confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's editing process is very unique and effective. The learning curve is about one hour.

Sound Quality : 8
I know there are better sounding effects out there. But for the price, it can't be beat. There are tons of effects on board. Took me over three hours to listen to everything. Some people say it's noisy. Well, as far as just hum as you are just sitting there...non-existent. The only hum you'll get is from your noisy pickups. My first effects pedal was a Boss single effect. I honestly cannot tell the difference between it and the Zoom effect of the same flavor.

Reliability : 10
Great so far. I don't kick it around, so I'm sure it will last forever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had any problems to warrant a call to customer service.

Overall Rating : 10
I think it's great for my purposes. The drum machine is great. The tuner is fast, and easy to use. The effects are easily switched back and forth. The expression pedal is programmable to do anything you want it to do. Editing the patches is easy. Everything works great so far. If you are just starting out, like me, buy this. Can't be beat.

This is more complicated than it looks. When I first got it I was fooled by the small size and tried straightaway to edit sounds, but couldn't!! Need to read the manual to find out how to understand what the terms on the LED display mean. Channel switching is quite easy, although only can move from one to the next and not jump from 1 to 4, for example. Also there is a slight delay when switching channels, but it's understandable. From my experience all digital mutlifx have it. The thing that attracted my most to buying it was the expression pedal, Wow, imagine a tweakable wah pedal plus a lot of other effects for just $130. After I bought it I found the wah sound unflexible despite the parameters you can change. Worse, the expression pedal is so small that I can't control the wah sound. A bit of movement will move you from one end of the spectrum to other. It takes a lot of delicate footwork, but the idea is stupid when playing something like White Room or All Along the Watchtower.

Sound Quality : 7
This depends on a lot of things. I at first bought it for recording direct to the computer sound card, and, expecting the distortions on this multifx to be, well, 'you get what you pay for', prepared a Boss OD-2 in front of it in the chain. For recording direct, with any of its built in distortions or even with stompboxes in front, I give this a 0. Not a single usable sound with distortion. It's all buzzy sounding, even with all the different cabinet simulations. When going direct with clean sounds, it's quite cool actually.
When I found out that this thing totally sucks for going direct and was going to give it to my grandmother, I thought Why not give it a try in front of the amp? Now that's where the Gfx707 shines. All the buzz and mud is gone. Distortions are still unusable though, unless you get an external overdrive stompbox in front of it. Turn cabinet sim to Stack A and rock. Reverb is the best feature on this one. Where can you find a dedicated reverb box this cheap too? I like to turn the tone of the reverb low to get the powerful 'dark hall' sound. Made my 1970s Marshall Lead 12 (12watt) practice amp that has no reverb, sound like a stack in an empty auditorium.

Reliability : 7
Plastic. That's all I have to say.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I rate the overall rating based on Value for money. And this thing IS value for money. Let's see, a typical reverb stompbox is already around $150, and a wah pedal is around $120. And for $130 you get all these and more. And even if you're just looking for a reverb stompbox, why not get this instead, where you can switch channels of different reverbs, something that can't be done on a stompbox.
I have tried other slightly more expensive Multifx and this one can put up a fight with them. Except for the POD which is my main fx now, it's the greatest cabinet sim for both direct and live. Also tried the Digitech RP line of pedals, Korg AX line and the DOD VGS50. They are all way overpriced, suck for direct recording and all sound the same when going to the amp. Maybe except for the small expression pedal, this little fx can beat all of them. One multifx I haven't tried is the Boss GT series, which looks promising but is way expensive too. Get this one now, plus a cheap overdrive pedal to go with it, and you can save lots of money instead of buying 10 stompboxes or a $500 multifx.

Easy to use and quickly edit patches. The three knobs make it easyer to instantly edit the most important functions like gain and reverb.

Sound Quality : 10
I have a squire strat and a fender amp. The sound isnt too good untill you fine tune it. good range of distortions. the sound reduction helps too. good overall sounds and effects.

Reliability : 8
mostely, as long as you have it pluged in to an outlet and pre-set the patches before hand. NEVER use battery unless their rechargeables, and only if you need to. I would use it without backup. Generally reliable, i have had no troubble with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never had any troubble with it, so i never had to get repair or anything.

Overall Rating : 8
If it was stolen, i would either get a new one or a more advanced one, but still from zoom. zoom offers an ok sound, but it also offers lots of sounds too, i personally like the metal distortion with its amp simulators and chorus. Its worth its price. it has a good range of sounds, but not too many. Pretty much everything you need.

All the Preset sounds are terribly amateurish and typical of zoom they put a ton of crappy step ones and twirly noises which you just cant use at all. Editing is a nightmare you have to constantly tweak and tweak AND TWEAK AND TWEAK .. plus you have to go through about 40 effects to get to two seperate ones you want. The manual makes it look great but really its a pile of shit.

Sound Quality : 1
I use a Ibanez Rg 508 and A marshall vs100 , okey where to start..
The distortions are so damn terrible !! its like a bee stuck in a glass jar.. the tone is crap and the delay is very very fake.
My favourite artists are joe satch and steve vai and believe em you'll have no chance of sounding like them.. maybe you'll sound like freddy and the kentucky farmers (your local garage band)

Reliability : 3
It uses up batterys in about 5 minutes and there is no way in hell id use it for gig's.. itd be lucky if i used it for a paperweight..

Customer Support : 4
Zoom are dodgy.. they just tring to sell you cheap shit to beginners who dont know better for a profit..

Overall Rating : 2
I play instrumental rock and you need a good distortion a good delay and good tone.. with the zoom you get NONE of the above.
Ive been playing 5 years and this SUCKS get a boss gt3 instead its so much better ! , I wish someone WOULD steal it ! please steal it !
I wish it had some decent sounds..

The 707 is simple to use. The knobs make patch editing very quick. After making a few of your own patches it's simple to remember what the knobs change in the sound. The manual is OK. It has a section up the front for people like me who never read instructions until things go wrong.

Sound Quality : 8
I use an Epiphone Special II through a direct box into a mixer/P.A.system.
The Acoustic Simulator is very noisy and needs a lot of tweaking in the EQ stages to sort it out.
I love The Cure's music and unfortunately I can't stick a Phaser and Flanger together to get the same sound as Robert Smith.
The Amp simulators work well through the P.A. our church uses.

Reliability : 7
I do get a bit worried when I'm jumping around and playing. What if I land on it? Other than this I baby it and put in the box when finished so it should last ages.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 9
I play in a church band and only get to let loose every now and then. I normally use a lot of Chorus to get a nice warm sound for slow songs. If there is anything that calls for heavy distortion the 707 doesn't let me down. If it were stole or lost I'd buy another one. It's excellent value for money. I chose this because it beat the DOD in it's price range easily. I wish it could flange and phase at the same time. The drum machine is pointless except for practice. Jam and Sample are limited and there are some pretty pointless modulations like Ring mod. This one reminds me of programming sound on my Commodore 64 - but that was years ago. Great pedal for the price.

Since you have to press many times to go to the effect you want,i give it 5.But other than that just press and go,the expression pedal also functions as volume pedal on some effects except the one like wah2,trace jet, etc, the one you use the expression pedal to control it.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm not an owner of this thing but i played it almost every day in my school.I give it 10 for the wah2,and trace(whammy anyone?:).The wah2 sounds creamy yet smooth, fits my style.

Reliability : 6
Made of plastic, and sucks battery faster than you can eat a pie.I would gig w/out backup but i wouldn't dare to bring it with out spare batteries.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not mine

Overall Rating : 7
Great for beginners, but not for performers, because you can't change the effect fast, though the wah2 sounds like a dream.Oh yeah made in Japan, where the electrician come from?:)
