It is sorta easy to get a good sound out of this thing if you dont know what youre doing and you have'nt used this stuff before. but if you know what your doing and youve used multi efffects before its easy as poop. Editing patches coudlnt be easier all u gotta do is click edit and change whatever u want on the keypads then store it. The manual is the BEST! it gives you step by step instructions that are very thorough.

Sound Quality : 7
I use this with an Ibanez RG 570 and sometimes my Hamer Slammer beginners guitar with a 65 watt Peavey studio pro 112 amp and it sounds O.K. This thing has no noise at all..none..even at the highest gain, volume and treble. The effects are kinda weak like the flanger and stuff. I can kinda get the sound of my favorite people, korn and limp bizkit. no rage against the machine here. The wah and distortion is really good for a thing that costs below $200. i like this thing but well not really i dont but for the money its great the sounds suck though but for the money they are good.

Reliability : 7
NO i cannot depend on it its like made out of "space age plastic" or whatever the hell you want to call it its still plastic and its still not reliable so weiner. and yeah sure id use it on a gig without a backup... a little kids gig but if it were important, no becuase the sound sucks for picky people but if it was for people that are dumb sure.

Customer Support : 4
never had called them..probably never will i never call. i'll put down a 4 rating so i can laugh at it. haha i put a 4 stupid effects box.

Overall Rating : 8
I play the style of korn limp bizkit rage against the machine incubus and slipknot. this thing doesn't really match it perfectly but if you want the basic shit its great. NO dammit i wouldnt buy it and if it were stolen i would laugh. i love the distortion and wah because those are the only good things i hate the plastic and all the effects i compared it to an RP-7 but that was $130 more so i just got this. i would like a digitech rp-21 and a snarling dogs wah and then i would never need any more effects. but it is GREAT for the price!!!

As a rule, I detest having to edit my sounds. A dyed-in-the-wool stomp box man, I finally gave in when I saw the 3000S, complete with talk box and acoustic simulator. Within an hour of opening the box, I had programmed 8 patches in the user group. Couldn't have been easier.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Decent sound quality, although it takes a little effort to get a reasonable tone from the talk box. The noise reduction works well. The analog delay is pretty impressive, for a unit in this price range.

Reliability : No Opinion

I've gotten rid of all my other boxes. For me, the ease of use at a gig, especially when setting up, makes it worth it's weight in gold. I would definitely replace it if lost or stolen. I do wish I could program a distortion along with the talkbox.

It is extremely easy to use. You can edit patches very easily. I was able to do anything I wanted with it within an hour. The only hard thing was getting the microphone to sound good.

Sound Quality : 8
I play a Peavey Predator with a Crate GX-15 amp and get a great sound. I play christian metal, hardcore, ska, punk, and on my churchs worship team. I can get a sound that is great for any of these. I can also get a pretty good sound for classis rock like The Eagles, The Who, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I can also plug my acoustic/electric in and use the acoustic simulator and get a good sound. The distortion are really good, but you have to mess with them for awhile to get the sound you want. The delay and reverb are good. The chorus and flange are also good.

Reliability : 7
I've had over a year and it has survived fine in my messy room. I used it once at a school concert and it worked great. I don't think it could take too much abuse because it's made out of plastic.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with zoom.

Overall Rating : 9
If it was stolen I would definately buy a new one. Theres no way you could get that many sounds for the money. I really like how easy it is to use and all the different sounds you can get from it. The only thing that was bad about it is the tuner. It is completely worthless. One second it will say its in tune and the next it will say its way off. Other than the tuner it a great processor and would recommend it to anyone.

well getting a good sound depends on the type of music you play iwas able to get some clean and some really good distotions out of it and editing is a piece of cake. the sound quality is really good the noise reduction really works the manual tells you all you dont need to get bob bradshaw to switch this one

Sound Quality : 8
i use a yamaha pacifica with a custom built amp the sound is really good I LIKE IT!!! the noise reduction really works on this unit!! but on some high gain settings you tend to get some noise which can be adjusted with the tone control in that unit or if you have a noise reduction separately..
getting satrinai tones .. and wah wah tones is really simple... i like the wah wah effect except it sounds little like it was done with the computer
the distortions are pretty good and also compressor... delay is just great!!!!

Reliability : 8
i use it on all the gigs beggars can't be choosers!!!!

Customer Support : 5
dunno haven't dealt but the guys keeps on answering your mails

Overall Rating : 8
almost a good match to all kinda musics especially to guitar wankers and metallers if this got stolen iwould buy a boss me-8[i wish i could buy eventide] i love the distortions, delays , and modulations all are quite powerful, wish the wah wah sounds more analogue. and i could use both wah wah and eqs at the same time!!!!

It is fairly easy to use this machine, but the problem with the matrix is that with every effect changes the values, so you've got to have your manual all the time around if you want to take full advantage of the machine. The manual is comprehensive and complete. I did like it.

Sound Quality : 5
I use a X-Pectra electroacoustic (Ovation clone), a Fender Squire Strat and a Yamaha PAC120SD. The unit has some data noise, but the noise gate is not that bad. I'm using a Peavey Audition 110. Basically the distorted effects are absolutely awful. You just can't obtain a full rich sound, really very bad. The time-based effects like flanger, chorus, etc. are good but not excellent. You can achieve some nice clean sounds with it (I mostly use it with my acoustic for a little colour). The harmonizer is not bad, but it sounds a little plastic. Basically, the unit disappointed me a lot. I have also an RP-7 (check my review on it) and it is much much better.

Reliability : 5
It's basically dependable, but I wouldn't ever use it on a gig. It just doesn't sound good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with the company.

Overall Rating : 1
I've been playing for ten years. I play mostly classic rock, blues and jazz. If stolen or lost I just wouldn't buy it again, not this or any other zoom product. Basically I hate the sound is really poor. The expression pedal is a mess to be set. I compare it with the Digitech RP-7 and it is a very dependable multi-effect processor, the zoom is supposed to do more things, but basically it sounds really bad. It doesn' helpe me to make music. If you want a more detailed comparison with the Digitech RP-7 and a full review of this processor, send me a mail.

The manual is ok. Editting patches takes getting used to. My friends, who dont play guitar, were messing around with it for a little bit and they were able to figure it out easy enough.

Sound Quality : 7
I play really heavy detuned stuff, sorta along the lines of Soulfly, korn & coal chamber. Most of the preset patches were pretty horrible. I changed as many as I could. The effects are ok, not as good as single units. The chorus, flanger, phaser and autowhammy are all i really use and i guess for the price its worth it. Some of the effects sound shitty through distortion, which sucks bad, But they sound beutiful clean. The distortions are pretty weak, they sound very digital. The noise reduction feature reduces most noise but unfortunately it also takes some of your tone away on bypass mode. :{ You can edit each individual effect which is not usual in most multifx for this price.

Reliability : 8
Seems dependable enough.I've had no problems after a month and a half. The pedals are kinda small for my big feet though. Its made out of some plastic stuff, so if you like to trash your effects I dont know how much this thing could stand.

Overall Rating : 7
I really like it but im not trully happy with it, but for the price I paid know there was nothing better. Id be happier if some of the extra effects werent so cheesy but, oh well. If you play really heavy stuff like me I would recommend testing out other products first.Eventually when i get more$$ i am going to sell it and buy individual pedals.

IT SUCKS BAD! THE DISTORTIONS ARE HORIBLE!!!!IT SOUNDS LIKE A COMPUTER! Some clean tones are ok. It alters the tone, even in bypas mode.

Fairly reliable, but i've already knocked in a button and broken a cord.

DO NOT BUY THIS IS!!!I HAVE NEVER USED IT IN ANY CONCERT I HAVE PLAYED EXCEPT ONE, AND IT WAS HORRIBLE!!

Manual tells all. You can edit everything. No scrolling up and down here, just press the buttons. Glance at the manual then you get the whole idea.

Sound Quality : 8
Its got many good distortions, plus boosters which make it cool. As in good distortions with edge added. Amp simulator is great. 3 amps, and also different power settings for each amp. I always use this feature. Its good. whatever guitar thru whatever amp is all thats needed. Headset thing is cool to play staccato and legato pieces. Rock out with your voice.Go to samsontech.com, then zoom's international site and see the manual.

Reliability : 10
How are you going to break this? Only by drunks and druggies. So don't play it if you're a win-o. If you need metal tanks buy pedals, they're cheaper.

Customer Support : 5
samsontech.com's zoom support center is good. Kinda slow but I suppose they have their other customers. They'll keep answering your questions.

Overall Rating : 10
Its great sounding all in all. 300 beans is cheap. Many distortions, amp simulator, chorus, etc... Better than dinky pedals all over.

Editing the patches in this unit is easier than editing in previous models. Also the round dial is very easy and has a natural feel. I also liked the external foot-controller, with extra switch so you can (for instance) shut off the wah-wah very easy.

Sound Quality : 9
Playing on a humbucker guitar through a marshall amp, I found the distortions sound MUCH better than in previous ZOOM models. I also liked the overdrive before the distortion-unit, it feels like a real amp-overdrive. I still think the wah-wah sounds very digital, but that's probably because it IS digital :-) Overall sound is really good

Reliability : 7
It looks really plastic, but I'm not a destroyer-type guy, so it probably lasts me a while.

Overall Rating : 9
I think this is the best thing you can get for this kind of money, the sound is probably not as good as with the stand-alone units (wah-wah unit, distortion unit, etc) but the idea of patches makes everything ok!

When you first plug it in you'll get a good tasts for the sounds this unit has to offer. The distortion and "Metal" sound's are kinda ZOOMy but the overdrive and fuzz are suprisingly rich and full. Editing patches is a little confusing but a quick look at the display and maybe the manul and you're on your way The manual is boring, but it will explain to even the most non-technical rocker how to get all the bells and whistles to work. all around the first 15 min. of this unit is fun.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this unit through a stereo eq. ( buncha bands 12 or more ). Then it either goes to a multitrack or through a stereo chorus amp,( peavey/Fender) The gain is noisey through the amps but the noise reduction kills it completely with very little coloring. The harmonics on this thing are great. I had a 505 and I couldn't get a harmonic outa that thing ever. But the analog distortion on this does the job. Modulations; phaser, flanger, chorus, etc... are good. definitly not vintage but the flanger is warmer than a DOD pedal. Pith is real cheezey but it's great for 80's stuff. many distortions all quite useful. Overdrive is pretty killer like I said. A few weird efx, ring modulator ( robot from star wars ), Talkbox with the optional headset mic ( Really cool efx!!!) and a wah that's after the distortion path ( good for noisey techno guit. ). NOTE: there's also a decent wah before the distortion path which can be used with the optional expression pedal.

Reliability : 6
I dunno. I'm too cheap to get a backup. I trust the electronics and the memory. But it's made out of "Space-Age-Plastic" could break if stomped on and they say in the manual to 'gently' press the pedals. I guess they've got doubt's too.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them. Only had the unit for a couple of weeks

Overall Rating : 8
A good unit for an intermediate player. built for gigs with a variety of styles in mind. give it some time and edit the patches and it should never fail to sound good. I play an 89' Fender stratocaster. It sounds better with Humbuckers than single coils but It has a really low noise level when you're using singles. so it evens out. If it were lost or stolen I'd probably save and get an RP-20. But it's competition, (the RP-7 ) is no match. Even with a tube the RP-7 doesn't out do it, This unit is much more versatile. I really wish this unit had midi in/out/thru. But, alas. one can only wish for so much. To any guitarist out there who needs a reliable unit for gigging; check this one out.
