I could use it straight away with ease but a read through the manual explains everything in great detail.

Let's be honest, it's a digital pedal trying to emulate a lot of famous amp sounds and effects so it's not going to be anywhere close to a mesa-boogie amp or a fender deluxe combo. But it still goes off it's nut for a digital pedal. With so many features for $80 AU, who's gonna compain?

Yes it is a plastic casing but considering I've had it for 8 years and never cared for it, it still sounds and uses exactly the same as the day I bought it. That would be well over 500 gigs of rock, acoustic, metal and jazz with an $80 pedal customised to my liking!

Easily fantastic value for money. Esp for a beginner wanting to get there 1st FX pedal because you could easily spend $250 on a boss stompbox with only one effect or you could have 100's of combinations of effects with this baby.

Pretty easy to use but you should read the manual to get the most out of the unit.

The Lead sound on the drive section sounds like Skid Row's lead guitar sound, smooth but raunchy.Just set the gain to your liking.Use the 'dist' sound to get that Metal Zone snarl, but be careful about the treble coz its just too wicked you can remedy this by adjusting the EQ and CONTOUR modules to suit your preference, kinda like Dimebag Darrell's "Vulgar..."sound.
The modulation effects sound a bit too digital, something you'd expect from an entry-level pedal, but still acceptable in terms of sound.
I use this pedal with my Jackson Dinky and a Fender Bullet Reverb 15watt amp and sounds great.
The 'PVY' distortion patch can be noisy if you don't use the noise reduction though.

Reliability would be the downside of this pedal given the plastic casing and even the input and output jacks are plastic(!!!)The jacks are the first one to fail in this pedal. Also don't push too hard on th buttons cos theyre just plastic theyll give out very soon

This is a great entry-level effects pedal. If you are thinking of shelling out a few bucks for a good, first effects pedal, look no further this is the pedal for you.I play metal, jazz, prog rock, and a little alternative and this pedal gives me almost every sound I can think of.
