This is real easy to use. plug it in. Play. Press both pedals to bypass. The real secret here is using a exterior volume control for real time control of the effects. I haven't even tried to program anything because the of this feature. I like it better than my Boss rv-2 and rv-3. Boss should upgrade the rv-3 with this feature.

Sound Quality : 8
I like the sound of this unit with the real time control. you can tweak on the run. If it didn't have this feature I would not be happy. The plate, hall, and room sounds are okay. You can do rockabilly type stuff with this and airy, Enya type things.

I have yet to take this on a gig. I play with a wireless and prefer to set and go. This is a problem i have with all gear. Once i'm playing I'm more worried about note selection than playing with pedals. I need to get a guitar tech to handle my patch changes on my $100.00 (or less) gigs. right....

No opinion. I don't call or email anybody too much.

I've been playing 33 years. I play all kinds of styles and have owned a bunch of stuff. Maybe at my next mellow gig I'll take this along and get a cathederal sound. If you decide to get one use the volume pedal thing and you'll be a lot happier. oh, it uses a standard Boss psa-120 adaptor. don't use a lesser product or you'll get an annoying buzz.

I give this an 8 because it is not like the old "analog knob" style stomp boxes. It does require one to read the manual to learn how to program ones own patches or to order the patches to fit ones own needs.

Personally, I am no stranger to ZOOM's products. Accordingly, I found it just as easy as (similar to) their other products. However, I have had to help others to program their units because they just could not figure it out...but don't entirely blame ZOOM for that.

Sound Quality : 10
I I use this unit with a wide variety of guitars (see Andy's Guitars @ http://freeyellow.com/members7/afrazo/page1.html) through a Marshall JCM800 (no reverb) and a Fender Blues Deluxe. Although the Fender has a nice reverb, I opt to use the ZOOM 507 for consistency between the 2 amps.

I am very satified with the reverb, chorus, delay and "simulated flange". This is the only modulation type effect I use.

The 8 types of Chorus and "simulated flange" (another form of Chorus) give me all I need. However, the "flange" in particular is somewhat subtle and neither it nor the chorus are adjustable. They are preset. Though the 507 isn't bad, if you use a lot of flange, you will probably want a separate flanger.

Reliability : 9
Like everyone pretty much says, its a piece of plastic and, therefore, susceptible to damage...especially on the road!

However, I regularly gig with mine pretty much every week and I've never had a problem with mine.

...I'd say that's reliable!

I've dealt with ZOOM quite a few times (but NOT for this pedal). They were INCREDIBLEY helpful! And when I had a gig coming up, they even overnighted me parts at no extra charge.

AWESOME customer service!!

The ZOOM 507 a fantasitc value! The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because of the couple of points mentioned above.

I have been playing around 25 years and currently play in a Classic/Pop/Alternative rock cover rock band called Oliver Twist (http://home.twcny.rr.com/olivertwist/). Even with the wide variety of material we play, the 507 meets all my modulation needs. I am also a "tone freak" which is why I use 2 amps in my rig and numerous guitars. If anything happened to it, I would definitely replace it.

I highly recommend the ZOOM 507 Reverb.

AN ASIDE...I've been so impressed with the ZOOM products I've used, I'm now consdering buying the ZOOM 504 Acoustic for my acoustic duo!

Ah, the sweet simplicity of a Zoom pedal. No brains necessary, and its presets are pretty good for just about anything you'd do with it. Editing is a little tedious, but then, it always is.

Sound Quality : 9
Nice, lush, clean spacious reverbs, pretty delays. The chorus is nice for lighter chorus applications, though it lacks the solidity of the Boss CE-5, which I prefer for chorus effects. For ambience, however, this is a gem. It makes my little Fender Mini Twin 10 sound spacious, cohabits nicely with the acoustics of my Peavey tube amp, and is pure ear candy with a set of headphones.

Reliability : 9
I've had good luck with these, personally. I don't gig these days, but sure, I'd count on it. It's been dropped and cords swapped live, and it comes back for more.
Also, I have to say, I've had really good luck using Duracell batteries with it. I'm presently at fourteen straight hours of use and it hasn't wavered! I think I'm a fluke here, and this isn't typical.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed them.

Overall Rating : 10
I can't think of a single thing I do that doesn't benefit from this little gem. Okay, sure, it's not going to be as rich and natural as a real concert hall or even a good vintage reverb, but for basic ambience with tolerance for the digital sound style, it's the best I've seen.
This is my reverb unit.

It is kind of a pain in the ass at first, scrolling through different. Once you read the manual and program your settings, it's not such a bad unit to work with.

Sound Quality : 5
I don't want to sound too harsh criticizing this unit because for beginners or for people who have small practice amps without reverb and would like to have reverb, it's not such a bad effect. I had a 55-watt Yamaha solid state amp w/out a reverb tank. I bought this unit to fill that gap. It's not that I regret buying it because it served its purpose. I upgraded to a Hot Rod Deville, which has a decent reverb tank. Therefore, I traded in this unit as well as the Yamaha amp. I don't miss either of them.
I prefer spring reverb. Always have, always will. I like the "natural" sound of reverb coming straight out of the amp. This unit obviously is digitally-created reverb so it will have shortcomings. If you plan to purchase it for low levels of reverb, it is very good for it. If you like high levels (a la Dick Dale), it is inadequate because you don't get that "spring". The sound kind of lingers and it doesn't sound completely natural.
In summary, LOW REVERB = It'll work; HIGH REVERB = Not good.
If you're an amateur player or you don't want to spring for a new amp with reverb, I do encourage you buy this unit if you're looking to add reverb to your sound. I guess I've been spoiled with my new amp.
Oh, there's also chorus and delay effects on the unit also. You're better off buying pedals. The chorus is essentially 18 different presets so you really can't make any custom changes to it. It sounds like a cheap chorus pedal. I'm not a big fan of the built-in delay effect either. It's not that versatile. I am a little biased since I prefer analog delay over digital. I never used the built-in chorus or delay.

Reliability : 3
Everyone complains about Zoom's plastic casing. Everyone should complain. It sucks. The effect just feels flimsy. In addition, this unit eats batteries every 10 MINUTES. No joke. When it dies, the entire signal gets cut off. I guess most effects do that. Buy an adapter. You'll be better off.
I'd hate to see what would happen if someone would happen to, heaven forbid, drop a guitar pick on it. The thing would probably shatter.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 5
If I had a practice amp and needed reverb, I'd buy it again. It'll do for that purpose. I traded my pedal in when I upgraded amplifiers. For a practice, I have a Crate GX-15R, which has reverb; therefore, this pedal is no longer useful.
It's a good pedal for beginners or other players who can't get a hold of a reverb tank (or can't use one). Don't waste your time with chorus or delay settings. They are not versatile and don't even sound that good. It is a plastic unit so be careful around it. Be sure to use an adapter or the thing will crap out in 10 minutes.

The unit is very easy to understand, the manual is a bit confusing but you are only really dealing with reverb, chorus and delay here. I'm still working out the editing, but it seems very straight foward.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using the unit with a Fender pro junior 15 watt tube amp using a lone star strat and a takamine 12 string acoustic. I picked up the amp because I was tired of fiddling with knobs on my two previous amps instead of just playing my guitar (the pro junior has a tone and a volume control only). I discovered that I missed having a bit of reverb and thought that a touch of chorus would be nice as well. With this in mind I began looking at various multi - effect set ups, I quickly discovered that most multi units put me back into the fiddling with knobs phase again. This unit is ideal, it gives a nice acoustic reverb for the 12 string and I've had some fun messing around with the chorus with the lone star. This little unit lets me go from folk acoustic guitar to the spacy sound of Kobain. Overall the unit is quite silent in the ranges I play my amp at, however, when I crank up the tubes into clipping the unit is too noticeable even in bypass to be used. This isn't a problem because I can not see a situation where I will need the peddle for the blues, I'm certain that those of you more familiar with effects could sort this situation out. I compared this unit to the Dan Electro cool cat and although I liked the cat, I discovered that I really like having some reverb present. Most of the delay things I've tried with the unit are just too weird for my taste, I plan on editing them out. If your looking for a solid reverb and chorus unit, it is hard to go wrong with this very affordable set up.

Reliability : 8
I've read many complaints about ZOOM excessive use of plastic and although I would not run a car over the unit, it appears to be more than solid enough for my amateur use.

I'm mainly a rhythym player that occasionally sings. This unit fits my needs quite well, it really opens up the sound of the little fender ( I am very happy with the unadulterated sound of my little amp, but this unit just gives it a little more ... roundness). I would purchase this unit again.
