this is where you know to go for quality products...i was wanting just for a cheapo effects units to play some startup gigs....this has not inspired me one bit.
The drum machine is adjustable with tempo and how aloud it is. thats the only really good thing. along with the tuner

so far i have taken my shoes off everytime when playin it, so its really a practice tool....a really shit practice tool. heard about the reliablity factor of the first 707 so i'm not going to take my jacs out everytime i play it. ill leave it in there...but i've onlyhad this thing for 2 months so dont know how itll behave later on

if it was stolen or lost ill at least have a reason to buy a new pedal. currently got no money to but anymore so would be pretty sad if lost it. some advice: get single effects units - there is more tone and quality. Well done Zoom i thought your new 707 would be good, but you've fool me with just more storable patches (space). i should have just got the first 707 maybe... another two years b4 i get inspired again....
Owners of this piece of shit i would like to swap patches to get some life...or any life out of this machine.

very easy ... it took me 2 days to understand how it works. it is very cool to edit patches with the konobs. ... i dont like only one thing: when you want to change bank it is very hard to do this by your leg ( 2 small buttons ).
MOD module very good.....

if you had an expirience of playing on marshall, mesa boogie or smth like this you'd better to continue playing on it... but if guitar is only hobby or you are not BILL GATES son this pedal for you.
distortions are rather "snady" but in general normal.
such processors sounds better on HI-FI amps then on guitars amps or combo.
IT is very cool for personal training but when your play in the band the sounds losts

well, this is the most interesting parts...i wonder about many "Rave" reviews these guys gave around, and i doubt it's objectivity and authenticity....
my setup : Lefty Am. std Fender strat, Lefty Ibanez S 540, or Lefty Es 335 dot. -> Zoom 707 II -> Mesa boogie triple rect
i also own, mesa boogie triaxis pre amp, digitech GNX's series, rocktron voodu valve, hush, intellifex and replifex, Cry Baby wah, TS 9, EH polychorus, Boss SD-1 and EH Memory man.
the sound of this baby is Inferior and it sounds very artificial, harsh and WEAK !!!, The distortion very-very weak, they have no Characteristic to color your guitar. Well if you are newbie and don't know what "TONE" is, you will be amazed with this baby..
Drive section has no characteristic compared to Triaxis.
Delay sounds soooo cold and not analogue enough compared to memory man.
wah pedal just like an auto wah and not controllable, better use Cry Baby.
BUT !!
the only Valuable thing from this one is only the drum/ beat machine.
very inferior MFX,.. better get High Quality stomp boxes, OR Rackmount effects, because they dedicated enough

For Pro's with tube amps and musically skilled , you'd better look to high quality stompboxes and rackmount effects..Don't Buy It

the zoom 707 II. i never had the chance of owning the original 707 but when i saw the 707 II on the zoom website, i knew i just have to have one.
the ease of use is really very simple, all the buttons in them have been labelled precisely so that users don't have to keep on looking at their manuals while using them. having to have a gadget of such features, you would kind of expect to have a difficult time using it. this gadget have too many features that you would kind of put more time on using it. the manual explains it all but betyah that you would need it always so to refreshen your head on the specific application of editing on this and that. i've read the manual 4 times already but i'm sure i'm gonna read it again to really be able to use it without a flaw.
the six large digit display just would always keep you certain that you got the right patch.
for editing the patches, using the drum machine, editing sampler, they are all so simple.

sound quality is superb! i've own the 505 II, and it really sucks. it aint got that gain that i'm looking for.
the 707 II has that superb boost and a good tone. i'm using a genesis strat with a dimarzio humbucker and a samick practice amp. the amp really isnt somewhatof a good quality but with the 707 II you would think other wise. the 707 II brings out a rich sound in a poor quality amp. the only effect, that is of use to me, that frustrate me is the pedal wah side. i just couldn't figure out how to set it the way i hear other great sounding wah-wah on songs.
the drive sound has improve excellently, doesn't sound like that on 505 II or previous ones, i guess?
one more thing is that, the wah effect was categorize with the modulation module, making it useless to sound or use with the other modulation effect. for comparisson, the 505 II had the wah effect togather with the compressor module giving the user the ability of using it together with the modulation module. i just can't figure that out!!!
use the drum machine, totally cool... superb sound.
sound quality that is...superb!!!

me! i can use it without a backup. reliability is on how someone uses it. i'm pretty damn careful of all my gear, that i'm sure it would last a lifetime.

i've been playing about 2 years now and that i've never really did improved (guitar playing likewise) but this 707 II kind of give me another push in giving an extra effort on my guitar playing. i'm into new wave and i'm pretty sure that i'll have the fun this gear would give me.
i adore the sound quality and the features a lot!
i hate the pedal wah!
i never had the pleasure of enjoying the boss MT-2, PS-2, that chorus thing, and that dual overdrive thing. zoom 505 II - drive module sucks (but i like that twanging wah-wah sound that this one brings, one certain patch that is!), even use it with a foot expression pedal, and everything else is fair.
for the price i paid and the enjoyment it gave me, no match that is!
if my 707 II would be stolen, #@%><!^*&!... i'd definitely steal it again.

The Zoom 707 is a really easy to use pedal, if you just want to find something to jam with. There are alot of pre-set tones, so you will definatly find something you like as soon as you start playing it. Editing tones is also easy due to the 3 paramater knobs. But creating your own tones is time consuming. Not as easy as I would like.

One word....Awesome! One of the best sounding pedals I've ever heard. With the built in amp simulator you will find a sound you will love. The only con is the expression pedal. I can't explain it, but it just doesn't feel quite right.

Ok, this is the category where the Zoom 707 loses points. First thing, it's made out of PLASTIC!!! Bad idea. Second, the input jacks are total pieces of shit. Both me AND my friend own this pedal, and both of our jacks on the 707 became loose after about 4 months of owning the pedal. The jacks don't have nuts on them, and they just kinda rest inside the plastic. So basically when that happens you are screwed because your sound will cut off if the jack is not held at the right angle. I used duct tape to hold the bitch in place for about 6 months (even in gigs!) until I finally gave up on the pedal and bought a DOD Distortion. But the other day my friend found out how to fix it so he opened mine up and did something to it, and it works great now. Hearing it again made me remember why I bought it. I would defenitly not bring it to a gig without some kind of backup, or at least a shit-load of duct tape.

Overall this pedal is great for just about any kind of music. And its good for other instruments too. I use it for some kick-ass mic effects, and for some theremin effects. If it was stolen, I'd probably buy a new one because the theif would probably break the shitty input jacks while trying to steal it. And I defenitly would not want to have to duct tape it together again, so I'd just buy another. I recommend this for just about anyone.

30 Types of Drive Sounds + 3 Types of Acoustic Simulation
Thanks to the use of a VAMS(Variable Architecture Modeling System), the drive module contains 10 "personalities" including amplifier modeling. Each personality has 3 styles: Classic, Standard and Modern. Therefore, a total of 30 types of drive sounds are available. Using a dedicated Drive knob and Variation buttons, you can select and change the drive sound anytime. While in Play mode, parameter edit knob #1 is assigned to be the Drive Gain, so that you can adjust the amount of distortion. The drive module also has three Acoustic Simulations, so you can get acoustic tones on your favorite electric axe.
120 Kinds of Practical Patches
By combining effects and settings for each parameter, the user can create, edit and store 60 patches. Together with the 60 pre-set patches, a total of 120 patches are available. The Foot Switch can be used to change patches instantly. Using the patch swap function, you can easily arrange patch sequence to match the playlist of a live performance.
3 Analog Knobs Offer Easy Editing
When you want to change or create effects, 3 parameters can be modified at once using the analog knobs. You can independently adjust multiple parameters that affect each other, such as the Gain/Tone/Level of the Drive, the Speed/Depth/Mix of the Chorus, or Time/Tone/Mix of the Reverb, simultaneously. While in Play mode these 3 knobs are assigned as follows: 1.Drive gain, 2.Main modulation parameter, 3.Mix balance of Reverb/Delay. You can fine tune these to match any performance condition.
Built-in Expression Pedal
An expression pedal is built-in. Using a dedicated pedal assignment key, you can easily change its function anytime. Also, different settings for each patch can be checked by looking at the LED indicators. You can adjust and store minmum and maximum value for each patch using the expression pedal for wah-wah, volume, or speed.
PEDAL FUNCTIONS
Pedal wah-wah
Pedal pitch shift
Speed or Depth parameter
Drive gain
Mix balance of Delay or Reverb
Master volume
Turn the sampler function ON/OFF
Designed For Live Performance
Zoom's live performance design philosophy is featured at every critical point. The 707II features a large display for patch names, numbers and banks, that is highly visible on a dark stage. Extremely portable, compact, and light-weight the 707II has a dual power supply system for batteries or AC power, a low power consumption circuit that allows for 11 hours of use on alkaline batteries, and easy-to-read auto chromatic tuner.
Drum Machine Function
60 different rhythm patterns are included. They cover a wide variety of genres, from basic 8- and 16-count beats, to pop and dance rhythms. Inheriting the drum machine technology of our popular RhythmTrak Series, the PCM sound makes it possible to practice using real drum sounds, not just a metronome.
Sampler Function
Up to 6 seconds of your favorite guitar so unds or musical phrases can be sampled through the AUX IN. Using an optional 32 MB Smart Media card, the sampling time can be expanded to 8 minutes. Using a foot pedal, sampled sounds can be played once, or looped indefinitely. Built-in data storage is 16 bit un-compressed high quality sound. You can slow down the re-play speed of a sample up to 25 percent without changing the pitch--excellent for phrase training.
Patch-Sync Function
60 effect patches can be linked with 60 drum patterns, and 60 files of sampled sound. You can perform highly sophisticated playing techniques with simple operations, such as changing effects and drum patterns together while playing, or re-playing different sampled sounds with each patch.
Using Smart Media Cards (optional)
Using a 32 MB Smart Media card as expansion memory, you can store up to 60 files for the sampler and 5 groups of patch memory. Using a Smart Media reader/writer with a USB interface, Smart Media card can also be used as an interface between

Great for my musical styles. U get lots of sounds. I've been playing for abt 5 years...used other Zoom products but they were all crap. Seems like Zoom has redesigned their electronics to sound much much better than the previous ones. Wished dat it has more footswitches so that I can tap dance. Zoom should fix some valves into their pedals. Get it or regret it.
