Simple operation. Heel down the pedal is off Toe it up to turn it on.
I admit this takes a little bit get get used to but it is a far superior solution to having to toe full up and turn the pedal on and off manually. The blue light is illuminated when the pedal is on
No lights are illuminated when the pedal is off. Controls are laid out logically and are very self explanitory.

This pedal sounds great. Some have stated the kilo wah does not have the quaility of sound as the standard dunlop. This is not true.
It has a differnt tone characteristic is all. The sweep range is great on the mega wah setting which im am using it on.
I even had somebody comment at a gig on saturday how good the pedal sounded. As he asked what kind of wah I was running.
The true bypass is great as my 2 channel dual rectifier is highly fickle when it comes to noise and bleed through.
The Kilo Wah operates quietly.

I am in the process of running it through the hoops through a series of live performances and rehearsals. Thus far no issues to report.

I have 20 years playing in many differnt genres.
Playing in a Metal band as I do at this time, My requirements for my gear are pretty high. This pedal meets and exceeds my expectations and If needed I would replace it without question.
I will also be adding other Gig FX products to my arsenal because of my great experience with the Kilo Wah.

I admit the toe up to turn on the wah does take a short time to become familiar with. But I have found this to be a far superior solution to have having to toe all the way up to manually turn a wah
on and off. I have unknowingly turned my previously utlized wah on at times on stage. Which had no light to indicate if the pedal were off or on. With the Kilo wah blue light illumiated means the pedal is on. No lights present when pedal is off. Simple and effective.

First off I will say that my amp is highly fickle to noise and so forth. The true bypass design as been the only soulution with certain types of effect for me. People have mentioned The dunlop pedal sounds better. I disagree. The dunlop simply has a differnt tone characteristc. Once your ear hones in on it. The sweep range is great. Throaty lows biting to crisp highs.

I have so far had no issue arise from the use of this pedal.
I shall jump it through the hoops with my next round of upcoming shows.

For my utilization "metal" Tonality and functionality are supurb.
I have over 20 years playing and it works quietly with my overly fickle 2 channel dual rectifier. I would replace it asap If required.

See below. Great sound quality. Easily comparable to the Emma Discumbobulator I once owned. Better overall than the envelope section of the Pigtronix Envelope Phaser and the Q-tron. I mainly use envelope filters over wah pedals but it was cool to have an envelope, auto wah, and wah wah pedal in one unit. Would say it's "pristine" but what envelope is "pristine?"

This is another addendum to my last post as gigfx has contacted me regarding my last post. I acquired the Kilo Wah through my regular music store and figured they has procured it via gigfx. Gigxf has no record of the transaction so my dealer must have got it through a third party. Gigfx has no record of anyone looking for parts to repair the Kilo Wah I returned so it is likely that my dealer and myself (especially me) got hoodwinked along the way. I don't have the unit anymore but would not be wary of dealing with the gigfx company (see below for customer support) as they have gone above and beyond trying to figure out why I wrote my review regarding reliablity.

Wow! They tracked me down through HC because of a review to figure out how and where I purchased the Kilo Wah so they could rectify the situation. They are very concerned with their reputation (rightfully so) and have been extraordinarily prompt and professional in their communication. Their web site is awesome: well put together and informative and easy to navigate. Not too many companies these days make contact with their customers, do they? Thanks Jeff.

The Kilo Wah is a little pricey but has great tone and the option of having either a wah wah pedal, auto wah, or envelope filter in one unit. If I had the cash I'd buy direct from them.

It's well laid out, and the controls respond as they should. I do not like the bypass being at the back of the pedal. I'm all for building a better mousetrap, but Gig-Fx has fallen short for a few reasons. More than once, I kicked this wah on accidentally at gigs. I have a two tiered pedlboard, and when engaging a pedal on the top row, I sometimes accidentally engaged the Kilo-Wah. All it takes is a light tap to engage this wah, bad design IMHO

Honestly, it sounds wimpier than a standard Dunlop Cry Baby. It is nowhere near as creamy, or vocal as a Fulltone Clyde, or Budda. The AutoWah, and Triggered Wah are cool additions, but need more effect. The tone might suit some players, but if you're into a vintage tone, it's nowhere to be found. I'd say it's tone is comparable to a standard new Morley wah.
It has the worst buffered bypass I've ever heard, it completely saps the high end, and completely wimpifies your bypassed signal. I'm not a True-Bypass purist. I have a few buffered-bypass pedals on my board, including a T-Rex, and a Tech 21 Reverb, but they have no negative effect on my tone. The Gig-FX killed my tone, so I returned it.

It's made in China, which I didn't know when I ordered it. I paid $185 for this pedal, so I assumed it was a quality piece of equipment. A look inside revealed typical Chinese construction, surface-mount components, thin board, and low-end parts. I'll be damned if I spend almost $200 for a Chinese import.
I would not depend on this pedal. I ended up with a Budda Wah; the construction is far superior.

This is a response to the review from Jeff below. This is gig-fx. We have no record of having received a pedal from you for repair. We have all parts in stock. Please send email to info@gig-fx.com and let us know where the pedal is and we will work it for you.

This is an addendum to my previous review. I had the kilo Wah for about a month when it started to kill the high frequencies from my sound (whild the pedal was not engaged). Problem went away when I took it out of my signal chain. Then it started to add static noise to my sound when the pedal was engaged. The pedal has been in for repair for going on three months and "they're waiting for parts." Needless to say, i'm not a happy camper and don't feel confident that it will work properly when and if I ever get it back.

Butt easy to use the Kilo Wah. It's optical so all you do is step on it and move the pedal and it engages. Bring it back to heel down and it's off. Turn the knob to switch between 2 different pedal wahs and an auto wah and an envelope filter.

I can't give it 10 because it does introduce a slight amount of noise into the signal. More than the Emma Discumbobulator or the Pigtronix Envelope Phaser I used to have, although it's not bad and easy to overlook because of the killer tone it puts out. As far as wah/envelope sounds go, the Kilo Wah kicks butt. It is every bit as good as the Emma and way better than the Pigtronix or any Boss Auto Wah I've used. I prefer envelope over pedal wah, but the Kilo Wah nails the pedal wah very well. The tone is FAT FAT FAT. It gets the Jerry Garcia envelope tone better than any other envelope pedal I've used. Highly recommended. What you don't get is tweakablity. There's basical one sound for each of the settings: pedal gives you an excellent basic cry baby and a wider range wah. With auto you can adjust the rate and the envelope sweeps with your picking attack. No tone or EQ control, but I don't need 'em. In my opinion, this is a keeper.

Seem relatively sturdy but not as solid as a Vox or Dunlop. Time will tell. I special ordered this and it came in a beat up box that had a modulation pedal label and not a Kilo Wah label. That is a little disconcerting to me.

The Kilo Wah is as good as any envelope/auto wah/pedal wah as I've used. The fact that all 3 are contained in one pedal is pretty cool so I always have a variety of options. I usually keep it set on the envelope filter as that is my preference. Tonally it is awesome! FAT organic and analog. The slight amount of noise is tolerable as you don't notice while you're playing just when your not so ... The fact that they shipping in a used box from another pedal does make me wonder about their quality (it also didn't have a manual) so I am hesitant about ordering the VOD overdrive pedal. But it's the tone that matters and in that regard the Kilo Wah rocks. Their Mega Wah has more EQ options and is also a volume pedal and can be run in stereo if you're looking for more features.

It's a wah pedal! Just plug it in... And, the kilo-wah (KW), is that simple. I like that it's switchless--I've used a Vox, Dunlop Cry Baby, and Digitech Expression Pedal in the past and you need to stomp like King Kong to turn them on and off. Not so with the KW. The 4-way selector switch was a little stiff at the beginning but has broken in nicely. I would suggest using a power supply as I noticed that the battery life wasn't that great.
I gig at least twice a week and use my pedal board as much as six times a week so these pedals see a lot of action.

I have two setups for live work. The main setup is an Egnater Tourmaster 4212, Boss Pedal Board with stock Reverb, Chorus and Delay Pedals. I also use the gig-fx VOD pedal (a 3-stage overdrive pedal). My secondary setup uses a different amp, the Line 6 Flextone III. The Line 6 backs up the Egnater; however, I use the Line 6 with the Gig-FX pedals.
Bottom Line: the Kilo-Wah sounds great in any setup.
The four sounds: 1: Cry, great replica of a standard wah sound (I don't use this setting); 2: Mega, provides a wider sweep than the "Cry" mode (I love this setting and use this quite often); 3: Trig, functions as a touch wah, use the "Rate" knob to adjust the amount of effect that you want (I use this sparingly for some Reggae rhythm work and subtle single-note fills); 4: Auto, I also love this setting, it produces an auto-wah, use the "Rate" to adjust the speed and press the pedal to adjust the range (I use this for funk and disco rhythm and rock leads and fills).

My main tone is supplied by my amp and I use the effects to color that sound. If the pedal gets buggy I'd simply avoid using it for the rest of the gig.

I'm a working musician: club dates, session work, clinics, etc. I need to cover many styles: rock, blues, disco, funk, reggae, dance, hip hop, you name it. I look for versatile gear and I'm real happy with my setup.
I heard the Gig-FX pedals at NAMM and met the guys from the company. They let me try them out and I ordered them as soon as I got home.
I do recommend these pedals to other players and they always get a curious look from audience members. Many young players ask me about the Kilo-Wah and I happily explain what it is and how I use it.
