Please read through everything of this superb bass.
It is the standard Fender Jazz Bass Copy, I have absolutely no idea were it is made. But it has 20 frets, 4 stringer, standard jazz bass pickups and controls.
Straight from the www.richwoodguitars.com site:
Jocker Bass Vintage
RB-62: alder body, bolt on maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, chrome hardware, 34" scale
colours: candy apple red, lake placid blue, sunburst, vintage white
I have the Lake Placid Blue color and I love the finish, it is a good finish. My belt is constantly scratching the back of the bass and it only has some scratches in it and it doesn't show the wood beneath it. It has now two little holes in it, without finish, but those holes are 1 milimeter (VERY SMALL) and those are there because I was using some force with my skrewdriver. My problem.
It has nice electronics for the money, not superb, but 100% better than the standard squier tones! IT BEATS A LOT OF BASSES in its price! Right now I am modding the bass with some Dimarzio Model J pickups and new pots. But I've played/gigged one year with this bass's tone and nothing really to complain about! Just a GOOD tone, but I want better =)
The bridge and tuners are good, I repeat, good. The sustain is nice, not superb long, but again; better than any other bass for its price. If I wasn't going to carry it around, it would be tuned OK for a week or longer.
I got a cable and a strap with it, service from the store where I bought it.
ONE GIANT PLUS: It is all solid wood and that makes it a great bass to modify! Guess why MIM and MIJ fenders are so populair for modding! The neck is just PERFECT, it plays absolutely PERFECT. And I haven't discovered a bass which plays better than this neck.
Because of the electronics, I will give this a 9. But because the electronics are easy to replace (nothing wrong with it, but I want better, remember) this bass gets the 9 it deserves for the money.
Sound

I play pop/rock in my main band, punk in another, and old rock/blues/funk/jazz in the last band I'm in. The bass will suit the music perfectly. I have flatwounds on it and it is still growling right there when I need it to growl.
I am using mainly peavey amplification with 15" speakers and no effects.
It was noisy when I turned up the tone pot too much, but I've replaced the pots.
It has a rich and full sound, but the warmth is a bit less noticable. Remember it is a jazz bass. It has variety enough to fit every style. Perfect for a beginner/novice bass player! It sounds perfectly when not plugged in.
I like it very much both for stage and studio use, I give this a 9 because it is a GREAT bass to play and I totally love it. It has some flaws in the electronics section, but again.. for the money it is worth GOLD.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action, fit & finish was perfect. Perfectly set up and I did only need to adjust it once more, because I changed to thicker strings.
The pickups were also very good adjusted.
The bass was just flawless adjusted and finished..

I have gigged 10 and more times with this bass and I am kind of bussy on the stage. The hardware is perfect, only the electronics could do better. But again: FOR THE MONEY it is perfect (you're getting sick of hearing this, don't you?)
Adjustments are not needed, only when I've changed the strings.
I have this bass for 9 months now and there are quite a few
I have gigged with it without backup and I am not planning to have a backup bass. I fully trust this bass.

I have been playing for about 1,5 years now on bass and guitar before that time. I loooooooooooooooooooooooooove this bass.. I really like the neck of the bass and have to find it's equal yet.
I would REALLY say to everybody out there, searching for a beginner/novice bass: BUY THIS ONE. It is worth the money and you can put new things on it easily because of the solid state this bass has! And it is just perfect for beginners
And please notice: I am paying details to everything I like/don't like in every kind of way as it comes to music. I am very critical to sound and feeling =)
have a picture of the bass: http://www.members.lycos.nl/tigerarmy/mxtabs4.jpg (the white spots are dust)
I will give this a 10, because of the fantastic feeling and the electronics which are not perfect, but for the money (last time, I promise) GREAT and they are easy to change to your style. Remember that everyone has a different style/ear so in the long run, you will always have people who like it or not. I did like it, but want something perfect 8)
Feel free to contact me about the bass/other music related things.

This is a brand new Fender Jazz clone bass. Not only is it a pretty cheap one, it's a very good one. I bought it from tradmusic.co.uk who are, as far as I can discover, the only suppliers of this brand in the UK. I don't know who actually makes these basses, or where they come from but I can't believe they're not more well known.
The style is a straight Jazz copy: passive, knurled chrome knobs with usual jazz controls, usual basic bridge, no other furniture such as thumb rests and pickup covers etc. I don't know what the body material is but it feels solid and heavy and comes with an absolutely beautiful cream/vanilla coloured finish, set off against a white scratch plate.
The neck is outstanding - it has a lovely vintage patina to it, adequate frets and rosewood fretboard and very nice tuners.
The bass looks like a very, very nice vintage Fender. If, like me, you want a cheap jazz bass as a second axe, I really cannot recommend this highly enough - it beats my Squier Jazz absolutely hands down. The only problem may be availability - but it's a scandal that these instruments are not more widely known.
Tradmusic, the vendors, were fast and superb, throwing in a padded strap, a cable and a gig bag which I wasn't expecting. For the money, the package gets a definite full marks.
Sound
:No Opinion
I can't really comment on this as I haven't had the thing plugged in yet. If there is a weakness on a bass as low cost as this it may well be the pickups - which are probably the first things people look to replace on a jazz clone anyway. Having said that, who's to say these will need replacing in a hurry? If they're anything like the rest of the bass they should muster a pretty good typical Jazz bass sound.
Having played the bass unplugged I can't report anything bad. It sounds clean, no dead spots or rattle (I play mainly funk/slap).
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
The bass played well out of the box, it had been set up nicely with a low action, no fret buzz - no complaints. As I've said, I haven't had the instrument through an amp yet but the pickups look good - low at front and higher at bridge. The quality of manuacture and finish is great - the only small gripes are that the string tree wasn't screwed in all the way and the routering around the bridge pickup isn't as neat as it could be - but you have to look pretty hard to spot that and it doesn't affect anything.
Reliability/Durability

I haven't had the bass long so I can't vouch for its reliability long term but the finish looks as robust as it does beautiful and gives the impression it will take some hammer. It's got an overall impression of quality.

I put in the wrong postcode when I ordered the bass online. This meant it ended up at the other end of the country the following day when it wasx delivered. Tradmusic kept me informed and I had the bass delivered to me the next day. No complaints at all.

Been playing for about 15 years, I'm a classic Mark King wannabe - mainly a bedroom virtuoso not gigging, playing flashy slap licks on my Jaydee.
I decided to grow up a bit and learn bass/music from scratch, so I wanted a cheap second bass I can leave lying around the house and don't mind the kids knocking it over and it getting a few dings (I daren't leave my prized Jaydee lying around).
I first bought a sunburst Squier Jazz but didn't like it, then I found the Richwood basses. I really can't rate my Richwood highly enough for its purpose - it's a superb vintage jazz copy and it's cheap as chips. BUY ONE.
