this is a jazz pickup in the neck position, it has split coils. in outher words it has two coils so it acts like a precision pickup..

output a little hoter than stock fender. my amps are acoustic 370 an swr .. i have a 74 fender pickup in bridge position

i have been playing for 40 years, played many basses, this is a great pickup..i figure spend the money and get a quality hand wound pickup rather than mess around hoping to find somthing that sounded good...yes this pickup is what i was looking for it is clear as a bell and quiet... a little expensive but well worth it. it saved me in the long run...
just a note , i am now using a audere onbord preamp and it is a great compliment to this pickup, if you must have a preamp .lol
