Perceived output level: Volume increase of 30-40% over stock pickups
Tone: Balanced and VERY Clear - almost too clear.
Sonic evaluation: Rick 4001 & 1972 Fender Bassman (50 watt)
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Rock - Yes, great match.

Comments: Results:
1) Increased volume - it rocks!
2) Minimal change in tone (good thing!)
3) Much better string to string balance - volume and tone
4) A little better range of tones with controls
Concerns:
1) Humbucker (bass pickup) is still much louder than treble pickup (to be expected)
2) Still limited in tone adjustment, but that is why there is a huge preamp market for basses. Compressor and eq would suffice.
3) A little pricey, but in doing some shielding with the install, this thing is quiet.
There are less expensive places to buy these, but have worked with Jim at EC Music before.
