Features :
Pickup features: Passive, dual-coil, humbucking soapbar
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Schecter Stiletto Custom-4
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: EMG HZ
Other pickups on guitar: Bartolini M34M - Neck
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Rock
Reason for pickup change: The EMG HZ had no real character to it. Pretty sterile tone, and it had entirely too much treble, even though it was in the bridge position. I wanted something with a lot warmer and rounder tone.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: About the same as the EMG
Tone: A bit less treble than the EMG, a smoother top end. Plenty of growl, and a bit more bass to it. Still has that bridge position growl, but it doesn't sound overly thin.
Sonic evaluation: Vast improvement over the original EMG. The treble is toned down a bit, and it doesn't hurt my bloody ears when I solo this pickup and have the tone knob up pretty high. Good bass responce for a bridge pickup, and an overall good passive mojo going for it.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Rock. This pickup works very well for a dual soapbar bass.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: # If it was destroyed or stolen, would you buy it again or get something else?
--Yup, I'd get it again.
# How long have you been playing? What other gear do you own?
--3 years.
# What do you love about it? What do you hate?
--Good bass responce for a bridge position pickup. Has a great growl to it, and not too much treble. Don't get me wrong, it has a good treble responce, it's just not horridly overdone like the EMG.
# Did you compare it to other products? Which ones? Why did you choose this one?
--Bought sight-unseen. It was NOT a mistake. Went with this because I have never met a passive EMG soapbar pickup I liked, and I know that Bartolini has an excellent reputation with regards to passive pickups.
# Anything you wish it had?
--Nope, works fine.
# Are you satisfied with this pickup or still searching for that sound?
--Satisfied.
# Anything else you'd like to share?
--Great choice for a passive bass setup. I'm sure it responds well to an active preamp, I'm just not a fan of them.
