Comments: I'm playing for 30 years everything from Big Band to Heavy Metal. I always liked my J-Basses for their versatitity, esp. the Ibanez, it's one of the best J-Basses I ever played, heard and never will give away. But the 5-string with the MME5 and the active electronics is suitable for everything (Low B is the best I ever heard, except by a ZON). The only thing You can't get is the Jaco P. sounds - here the Seymour Duncan vintage PU's and the Claim fretless are the real thing.
The EMG's are great too but the Bart has more character.
I'd buy the MME5 again (and the Bartolini electronics too).
I'm thinking of replacing the EMG's in my Ibanez with Bart's.
