Features :
Pickup features: humbucking, either active or passive. I'm running it through an HR2.2 Active Harness
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez GSR100
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Ibanez cheap-ass singlecoil noise makers
Other pickups on guitar: None
Artists using this pickup: Unknown
You musical style(s): Rock, Punk, Funk, Worship
Reason for pickup change: I was getting to the point where the sound quality (or lack thereof) was seriously bothering me. I kept getting buzzes in my tone that I couldn't account for with a ground loop, and the pickups didn't respond well when I played chords, unless all of the notes were above the 12th fret.
Like all Ibanez Basses, the GSR100 is a pretty solid axe, with the weak spots in the pickups, mainly, so instead of spending $800+ on a new bass, I spent $200 on new humbuckers and a 2-band active EQ.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Much more than the previous pickups. Much better balance between lows and highs
Tone: Rich, Tight, Warm Low-end without sounding muddy or covering up string pops. High end is sweet, rich tone Like buttah!!
Sonic evaluation: Ibanez GSR100 w/ D'Addario Slo-Wounds and Bartolini 2 band EQ (9 volt power, thinking of upping it to 18 volt) --> BOSS TU-2 --> Dunlop 105Q Bass Crybaby --> BOSS CEB-3 Bass Chorus --> BOSS ODB-3 Overdrive --> Morley PVO Volume --> Crate BX100 100 watt Amp. I use 6" Fender Electrovolt cables for patching, a Roadhog 20' from axe to pedals, and a Monster from pedals to amp.
Sometimes I'll run the Crate through a Mackie or Heath Board via the XLR output, and use the Crate as a Monitor.
Either way, these pickups have made me fall in love with my bass all over again. The low ends are there... they are tight, and they sound full without overpowering the rest of the band. They produce a strong signal that doesn't decay when I process it through chorus, Overdrive, and Wah.
The highs are sweet and strong for soloing and adding a lighter touch to the stuff I play. These pickups have really allowed me to explore not only my own talents as a player, but the true potential of my axe.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: These pickups are great for the styles I play.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I looked at Fender and Seymour Duncan, but none of them had P-bass pickups that were humbucking. I wanted that extra oomph that Humbucking adds.
The pickups respond well to the 2-band EQ.
I totally love the sound I have. I am still tweaking my settings to get the perfect sound, especially in the highs, but everything I have enountered so far has been more than satisfactory.
I knew I had great pickups when I pulled them out of the box, pulled them apart, and they slipped, snapping back together (magnetic force) on my finger and IT HURT!!!!!
If somehow I lost the pickups, I would soooo replace them with the same ones.
