Features :
Pickup features: Stacked humbucker, passive
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Rickenbacker 4001 1973
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Rick single coil
Other pickups on guitar: Dimarzio model one in neck position
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): progressive rock, country, rock and roll
Reason for pickup change: Rick pickup was noisy.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Output is on the low end of the spectrum. Sounds great with a tube preamp.
Tone: Balanced ,with not a lot of midrange
Sonic evaluation: Ampeg SVT III and a Genz Benz 4x10. The pickup works well on its own, giving a full, trebly response. It also works well with the Model One. I've installed a switch to allow the .47 capacitor to be switched in and out, allowing me to get the classic 4001 punch when using 2 pickups. The Carvin is nice and quiet

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Good for progressive rock, straight rock and country.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: Playing for 20 years, other basses, Aria ProII SB 700, Ibanez SR 1200 5 string, Yamaha Fretless 5 String, Hoffner Beatle Bass. I am finally satisfied with the sound coming out of My Rick. I would replace this pickup.
