Both positions.
Stock pickups were thin sounding.

Using a GK 1001RBII head and SWR Golliath 3 Cab.
Tone is full from top to bottom.
Now playing in a 70's rock tribute band.
Should be usable for all styles of music

I would by these pickups again if destroyed or stolen.
I've been playing 30 plus years.
I have another 4 string Jazz, a 5 string Jazz and a 5 string Musicman SUB bass.
These pups are unbelievable and the price is incredible!
I did a lot of online research on all the major brands of pickups. Chose these because of the price and the color.
I can't complain a bit about these pickups.
