Features :
Dragonfire Single Coil Passive PJ Pickup Set
White Covers
Ceramic Bar magnet and pole magnets
Neck Split P pickup about 8.6K Output
Jazz Bridge pickup about 6.4K Output

Instrument :
I installed the Dragonfire set in a Fender Squire PJ bass which I put a Mighty Mite rosewood neck on. I replaced the original Squire PJ pickup set. The white covers look so cool on the white stock pickguard. (Bass is the Squire Gold Metallic.) With these pickups and the neck upgrade, my cheap squire is now a formidable pro bass with classy good looks, and not a lot of money spent.

Sound : 8
The output is a little stronger than the squire set I replaced, in a good way and the bridge jazz pickup is brighter and stronger than the squire pickup. It was a tough installation because I had to enlarge the pickguard cut-outs by hand filing them. The tone is much improved over the stock Squire pickups on both pickups and also blended or full on. The bass has a formidable Jazz growl and also a great classic P tone. For more modern slap sounds, maybe EMG's or a bridge humbucker would be better.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I play more classic 50's, 60's and 70's rock and roll and rock/blues, so the Dragonfire pickups are perfect and quite amazing for the price. I would definitely buy them again. I've been playing since 1965 and have owned a number of nice vintage basses over the years, mostly Fenders and Hofners. I like the Squire PJ with the Dragonfire pickups better than any of the straight Precision or Jazz Basses I've had in the past. I just like a P pickup mixed with a Jazz bridge pickup because it is so versatile and has a nice growl full on or blended. The best thing I like about Dragonfire Bass and Strat Pickups is they are not too muddy and still have that bright top and great string to string definition, but in a slightly higher output.

Here's the specs i read to buy them:

Dragonfire Pickup Set for PJ Basses
Features include:
Matched Set of Two
White Bridge Pickup and White Split Neck Pickup
Bridge Pickup is 6.4k Output
Neck Pickup is 8.6k Output

It was an Ebay purchase.
They have lousy customer service
via the ebay contact the seller links.
So if you need to talk to them then call.

They are strong Passive pups.
Ohm rating close to advertised listing.
Came in a good box but the P mags were
stuck together and when i pulled them apart
one of the slab backing magnets came off.
i guess and additional 1.00 for superglue
was a lil too costly for them. GEEEZ!
The least guitarpartsonlie could've
individually wrapped them.
Measure your pup cavities.
These are honkin big for RB 650 Roadstar IIs.
Had to shave them quite a bit the get them in.
But the up side is they line up better
than the EMGs i through out of it.

Instrument :
i installed these in a Black On Black Ibanez Roadstar II RB 650.
Went with the white ones in honor of a Rainbow - Rising song
"Light In The Black". Looks great! Better than expected!
The EMG selects were too jazzy for classic rock.
Dragonfires are closer to that classic sound.
Wished it had the stock pups but lost that on one.
These are Pole Slab type magents.
No split pole mags like Squier pups.
No wax ends...mags and coils take up most of the width.

Sound : 8
Meter slammin strong with a .1uf 50v Italy made M&M cap!
Could've did a little better with a 10% but went with a 20%.
Sounds okay with the infamous stock GREEN cap from hell.
i hate those caps! Chunk that green monster
and get a real vintage cap and you'll love these pups.

The pups sounds tin canny and tone was muddy with greenie.
Put the old Cap in and away she went!
Nice full growl on the Ps and the tone control is there.
Blender knob dialed half way and you can still
hear that Jazz Pup singing!
J pup on it's own was suprisingly strong.
Nice treble level.
Of course J at the Bridge and Split Ps mid body.

i can now use this RB 650 for classic rock and jazz,
i play BlackJack thru a Behringer BX4500H thru Sesimic Audio 210
and an 80s Fender BXR 115.
Wall shakin goodness!
If the pictures on the walls are rockin then it's a go!
i also string all my Japanese basses with Martin DARCOs XL.
i drop kicked GHS to the curb!
What happen to them?

Overall Rating : 8
i couldn't afford Dimarzios so i went with Dragonfires.
For the bucks you can't go wrong.
But as i've said earlier, put a vintage cap in for them.
Did i mention i hate green 47 caps?
Yeah i wished they sent new screws and pads
but 30.00 pups we are lucky to get a box.

Pretty satisfied overall.
Nice PJ pups for the bucks.
Better than EMG Selects.
Make sure to check all your grounds.
May want to brass plate ground these pups too, i did.
